it was a nice room BUT the 2 x bedside lights did not work and one of the bedside lights didn't even have a lampshade - spoilt the room and meant had to put bright main light on all the time.
The bathroom has a packet of Dove soap on the sink that looked like it was supposed to be in a soap dispenser - . There was no soap dispenser. It wasn't possible to open the soap container so no soap at all in the bathroom.

The appearance of the place is in need of a makeover very shabby first impressions are poor.

The worst cooked scrambled egg I have ever had. With under toasted bread one end and burnt the other. Hidden by earlier cooked dried up bacon hidden by what appeared to be chopped up boiled egg It was ALL cold including the plate despite waiting35 mins after placing order.

The 3rd time I have stayed here and every part of their service has been consistent, 1st class welcome always with a smile, nothing is too much trouble.
From the management down I cannot find one negative comment to make.
Definitely will be staying here again.

Was worried about the security of the front door. It looked like an internal door but used for an external entry. Also had about an inch gap under the door which was drafty as was very windy. Had to roll a towel up and shove it under the gap.

The staff were very helpful and welcoming on arrival. Staff remembered me from previous visits.
Room price was good value for money.
No issues on this visit.

Served a purpose
Cold room on entering, 1/4 inch gap along the bottom of door allowing cold wind in! Noisy traffic till late & first thing. Poor position of towel rail and rusty towel holder.

I arrived , went up to room along a filthy carpet and stale smell. the bathroom smelt weird, the shower plug was thick with hair. I didn’t stay.

Lovely hotel / pub , evening meal was lovely , stayed Monday , and in area again now Wednesday so staying again.

I chose the property purely on location : easy
access from the motorway. I was work on Friday
and heading to Cornwall.So really used it for a
pit stop.However, I would now consider it for
a weekend away.
The staff were polite, friendly and professional.
They were particularly proud of their new coffee
machine which I sampled and was impressed.
I didn’t stay for breakfast - as I said I was on my
way to a family holiday.
The rooms are huge, clean and well
maintained. The bedding is luxurious and I slept
so well.
I will definitely use again as a pit stop and will
try to plan a weekend away to Devon too.

great location for an overnight stop to break up a long journey. nice big clean family room, friendly helpful staff and a nice breakfast before setting off the next morning. overall excellent value for money
