Loved the staff. The main guy answered the door right away, showed me the room, lent me a ohone charger, offered to wake me up for the flight and got me a taxi and made sure it was safe. Recomendo for all! Thank you so much. I really needed this.

The owner was friendly and helped me get a taxi to the airport in the morning. The beds were comfy. Because of the protests in Peru, it was quiet, but I slept very well.

I couldn't get the hot water to work.

clean, extra blanket for the bed as the temperature dropped a fair bit! Ariel was wonderful about contacting us for airport pickup and drop off. excellent value for money and super close to the airport. no bells and whistles, but for $18USD, it can’t be beat.

location was a bit loud for light sleepers, but that’s easily fixed with ear plugs. plus you’re in the city so it should be expected!

Took a very long time for anybody to let us in and then did not have access to the front door so couldn’t get in late at night. The area is noisy and not that clean so not a place to stay for long.

The location is in Callao which is not safe especially at night. It's relatively safe during the day with a common precaution

I ariived very late and the genrleman stayed up to let me in. I also got prompt replies to my emails The room was spotlessly clean and had everything i needed.

The place is close to the airport and we arrived at 2 in the night and was able to check in without any problems.

The dogs outside barked and woke us up, and people outside played loud music.

It’s a quiet little family-run hostal (not a hotel but more of a rooming house). The room was spacious and had a table, though they have it set up on the other side of the room from the sole electrical outlet*. I moved the table and it was a perfect, quiet place to use my computer. The family that runs the place is very friendly and I made friends with Ariel (the night manager and general staff). No breakfast is served but there is a kitchen with stove, microwave, and potable (purified) tap water (Note: don’t drink tap water in Perú unless your host says it has been purified). This is a working-class family neighborhood with none of the glitz or constant pressure to buy something of the regular tourist areas - I enjoyed it much more than more upscale Miraflores, though less experienced travelers may find themselves a little lost here. One should definitely be able to speak Spanish in this locale. There is a TOTTUS equivalent to a Walmart a block away if you need groceries, small appliances, etc. The hardware store next door can take care of you if you need something more - in my case, a new suitcase wheel to replace the one the airlines tore off. I very much enjoyed my stay here - very friendly staff, real people on the street, excellent prices, and the local restaurants serve meals as tasty as the upscale tourist places in Lima at 1/4 the cost. Be advised: the local restaurants serve meals with individual dinner portions large enough for a family of 4. *The electrical outlet is 2-pronged (ungrounded). This is more common than not throughout Perú, so I recommend that travelers carry a 2-to-3 pronged adapter for traveling in Perú. Never needed the ground so can’t attest to safety: only practicality. There is the equivalent of a Home Depot a block away where you can buy the adapter for $2.50 (10 Soles) if you didn’t bring one).

The hotel’s facade is less than imposing: the name “KURMI” is painted on the wall next to a heavily reinforced steel door. One must bang on the door for 1st admittance: if the manager is busy you might have to wait 10 or 15 minutes before he lets you in - don’t worry - you are safe and he/she will eventually get there. Once inside you’ll be given a key to the front door and your room. You will be pleased with the hostal after registering. There is a disconcerting note at the check-in office that an extra roll of toilet paper is 5 Soles, an extra towel is 5 Soles, & extra soap is 3 Soles - I suspect because some travelers keep any extra products and they are trying to maintain a budget, but it is somewhat off-putting. in reality it is a very friendly, safe place with some 1st-impression challenges. It’s in a gritty neighborhood near the intersection of 2 highways, so noise from street traffic is in the background from 5am till 9pm. I suspect the main clientele is truck drivers and tourists looking on Booking.com for cheap lodgings near the airport. The night manager Ariel told me it’s best to stay off the streets after 9pm but I saw no crime or trouble - only families and honest truckers. The police patrol regularly and I suspect that trouble is unlikely unless one is looking for it.
