Perfect little place for the 2 of us and our dog. Plenty of area to walk the dog. Susan was very responsive when we were able to arrive 1day early and with any questions. Thanks for a great visit!

We realize that in the Keys everything is location... location... location. And with this property that is the primary value. It's location gives you access to Key West but away from the hustle and bustle. It is also located right next to a small inlet. The property is small but a good size for a couple. While we enjoyed our stay in the Keys this property is in need of some serious TLC. These are just a few items we found during out stay. - We cooked most of our meals at the property. The pots, pans, dishes, etc... were of random variety. While that is typically no big deal it would have been nice if the lids actually fit the pans/pots. - Missing kitchen cabinet drawers - Step up going into the kitchen had broken tile along the edge which had duct tape across it. - Tile was missing at the entrance of the shower. - Listing says "gas grill" available. Gas grill was on location but no propane tank and previous guest had used charcoal in it making it unusable. - Listing says kayaks are available. No kayaks were on property. - All the chairs on the "dock" of the inlet were broken. - Blinds in the bedroom had several slats broken/missing. Used a extra blanket to hang over the window. - No door on from bedroom to main room. No big deal if you go to bed together or get up at the same time. - Missing ceiling fan on the porch with open wiring. Other fan has seen better days. There is more but I have used up all the characters... Location... Location... Location...

Great location

We enjoyed our 5 night stay. The accommodation was good and it was okay driving distance to Key West and state parks, and short drive to several good restaurants. There is also a nice walking path on the other side of the Overseas Highway. It was nice to be near the water in Cabin 1.

Older property. Could use some cosmetic updates. It was clean and just steps away from the water! Pool was nice and clean. There was a major accident on US1 so we couldnt get to Key West our last day. We plan to stay there again.

It was average overall, good location. Should advise clients, boats should be less than 22', driveways could use some gravel. Cottage 1 needs some basic improvements.

My Jewell and myself both needed a quiet environment and be a short distance to Key West. And, this was perfect in all accepts.

The cottage itself was very clean when we walked in, smelled like a hotel room. It had all the essential things: a place to cook, a place to shower, a place to sleep and relax. Yes the cottage could use some renovation, but it was comfortable and functional. We were pleased to find a jetski dock, which allowed us to keep the jetski in the dock all week instead of taking it out every day. There is a hose that reaches it for washing. The main thing that bothered us was the smell of the water in the dock at low tide, which was pretty bad. Other than that, we had a wonderful week here and we would most likely come back.

This waterfront cottage was perfect for us. It's clean and comfortable. The central location in the Keys made it perfect for exploring Key West, Key Largo, and all the great things in between. Our pets loved the floor to ceiling screened porch and so did we. The owner is extremely responsive and very engaged if you need her. Rent this place!

We thoroughly enjoyed the property. It had parking for the boat, ramp access, two pools and the view from Cottage 1 was amazing. Property Management communication was great when we had a question about the nearby attractions. Highly recommend this quaint property.

This place was exactly what my husband and I wanted for our 40th anniversary . A good spot to stay, not far from beaches and Key West . Would stay again!

Good location

We stayed in cottage 1 which was right on the water. The cottage was in the perfect location and had an amazing view of the water. We watched the sunset each night and got to do some fishing off the dock. It was clean and very comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in the keys. So close to everything! Nothing too fancy but absolutely perfect for what we needed.

We had a good visit here. 20 minutes to Key West. We had dock and water access with a large screened in porch area. This is a great spot for two folks. No surprises. It all worked as planned.

we booked this cottage to be able to enjoy the water front view, we previously stayed in cottage 4 a year ago. The pros- large screen porch, perfect for dog and to be able to have additional space. Communication with property manager excellent, very accommodating when we had to change our dates. Updated kayak launch, perfect for accessing the water. Cons- this cottage needs some repairs. everything is working but rather run down. Duct tape used to fix everything. Very loud Air handler is in bedroom closet. The only good thing about the loud noise it helped to drown out the drunk guests having a party. Walls very thing, can hear everything outside, road noise and other guests. Loud guests were having a party every night on the dock so we really didn't get to enjoy it. If I were to stay again I would go back to cottage 4 as its in better shape. The large homes up on stilts are newer and likely in good condition. Hopefully someone will be making some repairs on the small cottages. Thank You

Simple house with great rates for being so close to key west. Would consider renting again

Property was perfect for what we needed it for. It does need some updating. You may want a coffee pot that shuts off itself, just for a safety aspect. Since this is a pet friendly listing, a broom and dustpan might have been helpful. It was a nice quiet location, bed was comfy! AC was a bit noisy, but I was not hot!

Perfect location. Beautiful dock and walkway under mangroves to a sunset paradise ocean view. Very functional cottage. It has what you need, but be advised, these are not luxury accommodations. Everything is clean and owner is very responsive. Having said that, screens are duct tape repaired, bed mattress squeaks with every wiggle, missing bottom drawer in kitchen, mismatched kitchenware, screen door needs repair, outside furniture not clean, back pool not clean, weird sand pit in yard to absorb high tide. Anyway, the place is clean, the shower is hot, steps to waterfront, and the price is right. If you do not need luxury, and can keep everything sealed in plastic bags (florida ants) this place gave us an affordable piece of paradise for a week.

We were very disappointed in our stay at Susan Rich’s property. We chose her location as the proximity to Key West, boat dock, laundry, pool, price and pictures. We left early and lost money. Susan doesn't respond timely and sometimes not at all. As a matter of fact, we had to prompt Susan to send us our initial check-in information the night before arrival. It was the first bad sign. Those that came for a fishing trip and are gone all day gave good reviews. Let me prove this to you. Let’s start with Colleen who stayed in February this year. All of Colleen’s complaints were still problems when we were there in May. Kevin who was there in January of 2020. Complaints, from Kevin include same problem with the stove and sofa sleeper did not open and of course lack of communications once Susan has your money. Mike G who stayed in February 2019 also the same complaints. If you happen to want to watch TV or actually need to use the Internet for work you are out of luck. Stating the WI FI was weak would be a complement. Nearly nonexistent is her WI FI. Left messages for her. She said she would look into it. Days later contacting her again and still no response. My husband missed an important Zoom meeting that he just turned to a conference call for himself. This was the final straw. Along with everything else that was wrong we left several days early. We called her and relayed our issues and that we were leaving. We had hoped she was a honest business woman and might have refunded us little something. No, monies returned. But what makes matters worse is she was down-right nasty over the phone. Supplies: We had two plastic plates, a 4-person coffee pot, two well worn out bath towels only. No toilet paper roll dispenser and gives you one roll of TP for your entire stay. You get one trash can liner, one hotel size bar of soap and no dishwashing soap either. One warped pan and I think the rest of the kitchen items are left over from a college dorm in the 1980’s. She states in a friendly reminder you can bring your own kitchen supplies. You CAN NOT set AC below 78 degrees. The kayaks that were there never available during our stay. Grills were disgustingly dirty. The misquotes were vicious and out all day. I could go on and on with complaints. It’s so sad when simple repairs, minor maintenance and a trip to the dollar store could solve most of her issues and no effort has been made since before 2019.

DUMP DUMP DUMP!!!! INFESTED WITH BUGS!!! THE PICTURES ARE NOT ACCURATE!!! OLD AND RUNDOWN, BUG DROPPINGS IN THE DRAWERS, ANTS EVERYWHERE INCLUDING IN THE BEDROOM. DUCT TAPE AROUND ALL THE WINDOWS AND THE SIDE DOOR. GRILL IS DISGUSTING, POOL WAS GREEN AND NASTY!! COULD NOT USE IT. Every time anyone inquired about the pool they got a different answer, it's been like that for weeks from what we understood. The screened in porch is NASTY!!!! broken dirty concrete, Old broken dirty ceiling fan, The furniture is filthy, no lighting. The AC is in the bedroom closet and every time it goes on it sounds like a truck and there is a funky oder it emits, no bedroom door, The furniture is nasty the bed very uncomfortable the pillows STINK!!! The kitchen doesn't have much of anything available and what it does have is nasty, BUG DROPPINGS AND CRUMBS AND DIRT IN THE DRAWS AND CUPBOARDS, The towels are old and dirty.. what few towels they give you, the ice maker also sounds like a truck, I could go on and on the whole place is run down and nasty !! They had an extension cord running from the house across the driveway to where the boats are docked that you had to drive over everyday, What a hazard!!!! Everything old dirty nasty.. There were no lights whatsoever outside I asked for lights they put one light bulb in and 1/2 The Times it went off and didn't work. THE WHOLE PLACE IS A DUMP!!!!! I can't stress that enough save your money and go anywhere else but there!!! Anything that's wrong the owner somehow tries to blame it on you. Telling me that the bugs are there because I have pets and food, excuse me we are not allowed to bring food!!! Save your money do not go near This dump property!!! IT WAS SO BAD I COULD NOT STAY, I had to leave halfway through my vacation. I am seeking legal action.

If you want a nice quiet place with no thrills this is your place. It is great to sit out on the doc to fish or star gaze. Susan does a great and is very helpful when needed.

We've stayed in this home a few times in the past two years and we love the neighborhood. The water view from this specific unit is also a win-win for us. As well as the easy access ramp from our doorstep. The unit itself is run down and could really use some fixing. The shower does not have a curtain, the bathroom door plus the main door do not work well. The bathroom door gets stuck when closing and the main door to the unit gets stuck when closing as well. The wifi from inside the unit does not work well but it works perfectly fine from the screening patio, so keep that in mind if you really need to access the wifi. The kitchen is old so we travel with our air fryer and it gets us by perfectly fine. The ants will get to your things in the kitchen so have your food and snacks in tightly sealed containers or else it will be completely take over by ants. We continue to stay in this area because we really do love the location of this unit and the dock view is spectacular.

Our stay was fairly nice. It was perfect for just us two. But some things were a little disappointing, the bed and couch weren’t that comfortable and some of the doors kept getting jammed. It just needs a little updating. It’s right on the water, beautiful view, and only a half hour from Key West. We would return.

We traveled with dogs and cottage one was perfect. The house was far enough away from the road so we didn't have to worry. Not any steps to get into the house because our dogs are older. We loved this quaint little cottage!!! Nothing fancy but very peaceful and secluded. 20 mins from keywest so your out of the busy city but a quick drive to keywest and the middle keys. Loved watching the sunrise in the morning and fishing off the dock. Definitely would stay again and would recommend to any one wanting an affordable place to stay while in the keys.

Pro: great location on a quiet Key, fantastic ocean views, lots of interesting birds, good wifi, good air-conditioning Con: icemaker that was noisy enough to wake the dead, couch and furniture that groaned and moaned, bathroom widow that wouldn't close unless you went outside and shoved it shut, ANTS in the kitchen, owner unresponsive to the ant problem STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!
