The property was just as described in the listing. Lots of space for our group of 8. Clean and very close to the beach. We enjoyed our time at the beach and in the evenings when we all shared food, drinks and games. Overall I would stay at this property again.

The house was clean, pet friendly and check in and out was easy. The layout of the rooms and space allows for privacy when needed, but also had a great front room and dining situation for families to spend time together. One of the garages was available to store your beach equipment and the extra fridge was a nice bonus. We enjoyed our stay!

The photos make the house look a bit nicer than it is. Nothing dramatic, but the carpet on the stairs had a lot of stains, and the backyard is weeds and stickers - so it wasn't useable at all for our dog. The front door glass doesn't have blinds, so that felt odd at night. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and we had plenty of space to cook / eat / hang out in the upstairs living area.

For the configuration of our group, the house was adequate. I think 16 would be pushing the limitation unless you had many children. The dining table itself seats 6. But there is a nice deck area and a living room seating area as well. They probably should replace the shag carpeting at some time. It is dated and I would think not perfect for a sandy area. Having said that, they manage to keep it looking clean. The house is about a three block walk from the beach. I lots of walkers including the elderly and children.

Reviewer Comments: After some initial resistance, Port A Escapes did a really nice job of addressing all of the concerns I had based on reviews posted after I made my reservation. The house was clean, smelled nice, and was comfortable for our 2 families. The location is great, and the views from the widow's walk are beautiful. Both of the golf carts we rented fit in the one available garage space. This property would be perfect if there was an outdoor grill, a broom, a garage door opener or keypad for the garage door, an outdoor shower, and a space to hang wet swims suits & towels. Thank you for addressing our initial concerns - they were all resolved!

The property management did a nice job of addressing concerns that I had based on previous reviews. The house was comfortable for two families, and the location is great. It was nice to have the garage space to park both of the golf carts we rented, and the washer & dryer were great for washing towels and swim suits. Things that would make this property perfect: a grill outside (we had to bring our own), an outdoor shower (had to use the water hose in the driveway), a remote or keypad entry for the garage door opener (had to go through the house to open the garage door), and a broom. It would also be nice to have a space to hang wet swim suits and towels outside or downstairs instead of having to hang them in the bathrooms. The staircase up to the widow's walk made us nervous (no center support, worried a small child could fall through), but we enjoyed being up there in the evenings.

We arrived July 4th and noticed the electricity in the downstairs master bedroom did not work. Call management and was told they would need to send out an electrician and due to holiday it would not be today. Only one AC for 2 story house, downstairs never cooled off. Yard had not been mowed and was full of stickers (not good for dogs). No broom in the house so no way to sweep up the sand. The kitchen was well stocked. NO WiFi or Phone Service at all inside of the house. I called and spoke to the maint man and he said he wouls have to send out a tech to check the problem.....never heard another word about it.

It was very nice to be able to bring our dogs. The third floor balcony had a nice view of the ocean. The golf cart that came with rental was very nice. I was disappointed the grass had not been mowed and the yard was full of weeds. We had a ceiling fan and wifi connection issues when we arrived but a maintenance man came right out and fixed them. However, the oven, laundry washer, and exhaust fan in one of the bathrooms did not work. We called for maintenance and they came out to check on it but could not fix them. Kind of a bummer but we were compensated for our inconvenience. We will use Port A Escapes again.

We had pretty much everything we needed utensil wise. The rental office staff were very helpful, especially when we arrived past 6 pm and couldn't pull up the office location on my probably outdated gps. They waited for me. The only "negatives" we're that the trash can already had trash in it and there is only one. For a house that rents to large groups 2 might be more helpful. Also there was brush in front of the house the entire week. There are no direct neighbors to each side which was nice. But there is a house being constructed on the next lot over so had a little noise but not a lot. There are houses behind but still felt private. Pretty sure our dog could smell the ocean from the back yard the way he was sniffing the air. Did report a problem with ants, in and out of house, when we left, including inside a light switch in kitchen. Master bedroom did not seem as cool as rest of house but we were okay. Love Port A and would def rent the house again if we return with a large group. Beach access road is not far as well.

We stayed for a week during Christmas and had 8 family members with us which included a 4 year old and a 1 month old. This house sleeps 16 so the 8 of us had plenty of room to spread out and have our own space if need be. We did have a couple of dogs with us so the fenced backyard was a huge plus for us. Unfortunately the backyard was overrun with goat heads that the dogs got stuck in their paws and fur and brought in the house making it necessary to always wear shoes in the house. Despite this small inconvenience we would definitely recommend this place for big family vacations. We will definitely be back.

One bathroom was non-functional and the whole house had an indoor ant problem. All of those problems were manageable, but when I checked out and tried to explain the issues, the rep for Port A Escapes wouldn’t let me get a whole sentence out without cutting me off to contradict me. I tried to explain that I wasn’t seeking a refund, just giving info, but she continued to respond rudely. She kept saying I should have called them to fix everything during my visit, but who wants to drive all day and then spend the evening with maintenance in a home at this price point? I’ll never use this rental company again, which is sad because after two years, we were comfortable with them.

I do wish the access both road and to the beach were better. Ice machine on Fridge was broken. Other then that, great house perfect for our needs. We had 8 guys, everyone had a bed. The cost was 75 bucks a person per night which is better then all the hotels nearby. I would rent it again without a doubt.
