Probably one of my greatest souvenir of Bali!! If you’re looking for an authentic place with lovely people I can only recommend :) There are also plenty of activities and the food is delicious!

It was a lovely stay with such a nice owner so eager to share her dream. The place is settled in the nature with a view on rice fields and a beautiful garden! Love the attention to the kids with the toys, music and swings! A peaceful oasis for a fresh escape! Thanks for having us!

When I booked Ibu Dewi explained very specifically what to expect.
It was exactly as she said and we loved it. Dewi is a fantastic hostess we have never met better.
Absolutely nothing we didn’t like.

Dewi, our host, is a friendly, lovely person. We learned a lot about Balinese life from her and we loved our cooking class. Both she and the cooks were especially responsive to my 9 year old grandson. The rooms were rustic and beautiful, the beds comfortable, the outdoor bathrooms exotic. We asked for my grandson to meet other local children and she made that happen. He was so looking forward to experiencing the jungle and if it had not been raining Dewi would have arranged a jungle walk for us. We asked for a certain turmeric tonic that we had at a previous stay and she had some made by a local woman and brought in.....and more. If you are looking for a non-touristy quiet cultural experience in a different terrain in Bali, this is the place. The breakfast was ok, a little light compared to other stays in Bali but the dinners were huge and very good. Don't come here if you are squeamish about jungle nature or can't navigate a lot of steps as the place is on terraced land.
My legs are stronger now for all the steps I had to navigate.

When booking, I imagined staying amidst the pure, lush nature of green rice fields, and this imagination was exceeded by reality. Indeed, we stayed in the pure nature of a small garden that was maintained with so much love and dedication among the rice fields. Upon arriving we were welcomed with a great smile and warm hospitality by Dewi, the female Bali owner of the accommodation. She spoiled us with fresh, delicious food using mainly ingredients from her own garden. The cottage itself was very clean, but simple and beautifully integrated with nature, allowing you to fully concentrate on observing the wild life in the rice fields. There is nothing better than sleeping without windows and waking up to an unobstructed view of nature. There is even a cottage that is converted into a small yoga shala - what a unique experience - yoga in the middle of green, lush rice fields. Thank you Dewi for these unforgettable 3 days with you.

Amazing location in the middle of the tropical jungle and rice fields. Dewi, the owner, is adorable. She and her friends cooked delicious dinner and breakfast for us. This was a fantastic experience that we will never forget.
We liked everything. Our bedroom was big and rustic, but we saw others that seemed less rustic.

Fantastic rural Bali experience lodge, or rather a set of small, cozy jungle cottages on a family farm a short drive from Jataluwih Rice Terrraces. If you’re looking for deafening cicadas and frogs, fireflies, authentic, delicious Balinese food, and a break from tourism, this place, and Dewi, the delightful host and owner, will draw you in. A warm, happy welcoming staff, and peace await you.
The room is clean, new, yet rustic in style. Decorated with old fashioned furnishings. Great care has been taken to give you an authentic, yet comfortable experience. With the communal eating experience, you will make new friends, like we did! Stay as long as you can. There’s plenty to do nearby, or you can just BE.
Send a message to Dewi for a direct booking here on Google Maps. She’s a great communicator.
Nothing! Read reviews and description so you understand what the place is like!

Dewi is an amazing host and chef! I arrived in the rain, she greeted me on the street so I made the correct turn and then provided me with tea and a snack while we waited for the rainstorm to pass. My room was clean and spacious, great view, pleasant nature sounds to fall asleep to. dinner was a real treat! I will tell friends about this place and come back!

A beautiful location away from the usual hustle and bustle. It really did feel like we were visiting a family member. Dewi made our stay absolutely perfect! The lodge was super comfortable, had an amazing view and was just what we needed to recharge our batteries while exploring the beauty of the Jatiluwih area. The home
cooked food was absolutely delicious and we loved knowing that lots of the ingredients came from the garden and the rest was locally and organically sourced. We originally booked 2 days but we ended up not wanting to leave and stayed for 4. We will miss Dewi, Gede and Pico! Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Nothing! The wifi was out when we stayed which wasn’t a problem for us. FYI if you absolutely need phone service then this part of Bali may not be the best for you as the signal is pretty spotty.

Outstanding and generous Balinese breakfast - rice flour mini oancakes with jackfruit and grated coconut, fried banana with palm sugar syrup, fresh fruit and Balinese coffee.
We loved it here! The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Our 4 and 5 year old boys were upset we couldn’t take Dewi with us when it was time to go.

You want the peace of a country side location, rice field view, firefly ballet from your terrace after dusk, gorgeous freshly made meals with organic local products and above all you want to feel at home in Bali? Trust Tepi Sawah to deliver all this and more, this place is magical. Dewi & Adi are among the best hosts ever. You will definitely stay more than you planned... and Tepi Sawah will stay with you long after you leave Bali. I loved staying with you, thank you!
Leaving.

We had a magical stay at this gem of a place. Well off the beaten track, there are several simple but spacious bungalows (not really dorms as described in the listing) built on a small ridge surrounded by rice fields in a forest clearing. Everything is hand-made and elegant. At night you will be lulled to sleep by frogs and fireflies. Nearby are Pura Luhur Batukau temple and local rice fields much nicer than Jatiluwih, with a view of all the sacred peaks of Bali on a clear day. Adi and Devi are the perfect hosts. They can arrange trecking and a temple visit with a great local forest guide. The dinner was just sublime, sourced from their own red rice and local wild ingredients. The perfect balance of wild nature, rice cultivation and tasteful tourism. Highly recommended.

Tepi Sawah Lodge is in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by rice fields, and it was so green and so calming! Dewi and her husband Adi are the nicest people and they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Even though we stayed only one night, when we told them it was our honeymoon, we came back to a very cute table setting. The food was prepared by Dewi and was delicious! When my husband said that he liked the welcome tea that was offered, Dewi gave us a complete pack and later texted me to inform us where we can buy more. Little pups Louie and Pico were just adorable and they made the place even better. You can also organize hiking trips or take cooking classes at the premises, which we didn’t have time for. Next time! :)

Please don't look for another place to stay! The lodges are in a beautiful natural place, near the scenic but not crowded Subak Piak Ricefields, and also near Batukaru temple (you can go to both by foot). The breakfast and dinner were delicious (thanks for the lak lak and dadar!). Dewi and her husband are adorable, they will take care of you (but without being intrusive), and they can organise activities like Trek, cooking class... Thank you so much!

We stayed at Tepi Sawah for a couple of days and we LOVED it. The views in the middle of the jungle are amazing, the staff are the best. An amazing experience.

We arrived in the late evening on our scooter, Mr. Adi warmly welcomed us at the parking lot and making sure if we're fine, and he genuinely helped us to bring our stuff.
once we stepped on the common space, we were warmly greeted (again) by Mrs. Dewi and offered us something to drink and to eat. It really felt like home, moreover Mrs. Dewi cooked some fried bananas for us, it was a very lovely welcome.
the room itself is so unique with green views, very affordable yet clean. and the homemade local breakfast was sooo good!
the next afternoon was heavily raining, my friend and I were in the room, starving and we were not able to get something to eat. I messeged Mrs. Dewi if we can order something from the kitchen, and couple minutes later, Mr. Adi delivered the food to our room while it's raining. The food was safely kept on a box container so it wont get wet and plus he gave us a big bottle of water too! they are amazing.
they also offered us to cook with them together, but sadly we had to leave soon back then. I hope we can visit them again next time.
Thank you so much for the hospitality! :)

We had a great stay at Tepi Sawah. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the lodge was comfortable. Adi organised a trek for us with a local guide which was great and the food served at Tepi Sawah was delicious (we even got to help out). I would definitely recommend !

Tepi Sawah lodge is such a unique and special place that will be in my memories forever. I extended my stay for two extra nights, this place felt like home. The accommodation is unique and you feel close to nature. At night you can hear a symphony of cicadas, crickets and geckos and see fireflies in the rice fields.
Dewi and Adi are fantastic hosts and Gede, Kadek and the many other I met during my time there were so genuine, generous and kind. As a female solo traveller I felt very safe and well cared for. Breakfast is delicious and nightly nasi campur (served with home grown veggies and rice) is fantastic. The fresh home-grown durian was also a treat!
The local area is beautiful and if you want a challenging hike you can visit Gunung Butakaru, you can see rice fields, visit local temples, do a cooking class or just sit and enjoy the nature of Tepi Sawah Lodge. I hope to come back soon to share this experience with others.
The accommodation is but very easy to find and access with no problems and absolutely worth travelling to.
Everything was lovely.

This is the most beautiful and peaceful place we’ve ever been too. The owner Adi is very kind and helpful with everything you might need. He took the time to answer all our questions about a rice farmers life, the processes of growing rice and more.
The rooms were comfortable and cozy and the food was delicious, the fruits were fresh from their own garden.
The environment is very calming, perfect to read a book and relax or wander through the rice fields.
We wish we could have stayed longer and we definitely recommend everyone who’s looking for a time out to come here.
The Wi-Fi reception does not reach every house, but cellular connection works just fine.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It is a quiet, clean and cosy bungalow surrounded by green jungle. Our host was super welcoming and went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed. He also cooked us an amazing local meal for dinner:). This place is a must for anyone visiting or living in Bali, who want's to get away from the crazy noise and traffic of the south.

I had a wonderful 2 night stay here at Tepi Sawah Lodge and Retreat. The owner Adi, along with Kadek and the others are so friendly and helpful, they really make you feel welcome. The hotel itself is situated off the beaten track, surrounded by rice paddies and nature. If you're looking to escape the crowds of Ubud and experience a more local and laid-back side of Bali, this is the place for you. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and ensuite bathrooms are outside which is a really nice touch. A local Balinese breakfast is included and dinner can be arranged on request. The food was delicious! With many rice paddies and temples in walking distance, it is fun to get out and about to explore, however a motorbike is needed to explore further.
I would 100% recommened staying here and I'm sure I'll be back. A perfect stay.
There is a bad phone signal/wifi connection which isn't a problem for a few days if you're wanting to relax and escape but would be an issue if you wanted to work online or call friends or family.
