The apartment is centrally located just off Piazza San Giorgio. This location we thought was just perfect and a short walk to the lake, restaurants and shops. Bear in mind that being close to Piazza San Giorgio there will be noise from nearby restaurants at night especially during the warmer months. This didn't bother us at all, in fact we loved it, and on one of the nights during our stay we sat on the balcony with a glass of wine listening to a band playing in the Piazza. The Sweet Square Flat is clean, spacious and so well appointed. We were there during the summer and the air-conditioning was a godsend. Overall, I highly recommend The Sweet Square Flat and would definitely stay there again if visiting Varenna.

Excellent location right on town square. Cafes nearby and stairs just outside apartment lead right to lake. It was compact, clean and modern and great for our family of 4. One daughter slept on pullout couch bed and it was extremely comfortable. It’s on top floor of 6-apartment block so several flights of stairs. A/c worked great. There were 2 bathrooms and 1 shower and it was a great shower with good pressure and hot water.

Sloped ceiling in kitchen/lounge room means tall people need to be careful when accessing cupboards.

Positive side: the apartment was in the center of the city, you can see the lake from the window of one bedroom. The price was ok.

There were no cleaning products: washing-up liquid, toilet paper. The apartment was not cleaned properly. Shower cubicle didn't work well, water was leaking onto the floor

Great location in the main square (Piazza St Giorgio). Quiet, peaceful but 2 minutes walk from lakeside. Apartment well furnished, decorated with good equipment. Restaurants and bars on the square friendly and very good. Great croissants for breakfast at local shop one minute away.

Confusion about key collection - we had been told to meet at apartment but had to go to office to collect (only one minute walk) TV didn’t work (battery in remote out of juice and not easy to buy batteries in Varenna. Flat is in traffic restricted zone. Host could have made clear the hours when access to load/unload luggage is allowed.
