An incredibly nice house with all imaginable facilities. Fantastic view of the Douro river and vineyards & houses from both inside the house but also the entire outside area (terraces, outdoor kitchen area and pool area) We didn't get to see much of the area by the Douro because the house was so nice to be in, but that just means that we must come there again.

This place is stunning and the location is great. I arrived with my parents by the train from Porto which is a wonderful journey and do easy to get to the house from My husband arrived the next day by car and even though it's not as easy in the car the breath taking views make it a worthwhile drive. The house itself had everything and the lady who met us and the lady who cleaned the house were a delight to meet and are obviously very proud to be part of team and helped also with taxi info. Contact with the owners was extremely easy and helpful. And not having the car we were able to get a lovely breakfast from the tourist office at the station and had a wonderful meal at a nearby restaurants. All in all we as a family of five had the best most relaxed weekend. My parents went on the steam train from Régua and the house was a perfect place to stay

Absolutely nothing

So many good things - 4 bedrooms so could suit a small group. Garden is long with suntrap areas which was useful as was a bit windy on our trip. Railway station very close and trains can be heard making their way along Douro valley. Also river crossing to Caldas Arêgos on opposite bank of river.

Everything was perfect

All Mateus family is very kind and they made everything to guarantee us a great stay. The view is amazing since both the house and the garden are "almost in the river". The location of the house is great: beautiful landscapes and a quiet area. However, you should have a car to move around or you will be quite limited (even more nowadays since Covid-19 impacted public transportation).

The kitchen is quite small but it had everything we needed.

The apartment is practically in the river, it is that close! It was spotless and comfortable. It is very quiet and peaceful even with the train occasionally zooming by. Daniela and Sara were very helpful and kind. Know that you are able to cross the tracks to get your car very close to the apartment. We took the train to Regua and from there took a one hr. 10 E boat cruise. Very nice. The views are spectacular! Stock up with provisions before you arrive because there is no where to purchase any. There is a very reasonable family run small restaurant steps away, but you need to advise them two hrs. prior if you plan to eat there. The girls delivered a breakfast basket at 9 am consisting of coffee, fresh orange juice, delicious croissants and cold cuts. Oh! The bed pops out of the wall and was very comfy! Highly recommend!

The views and location superb. Breakfasts brought to the house. Very pleasant girls as our point of contact. Excellent bathroom. Good sunbathing terrace. River taxi to other side.

A lot of steps (28). Building work next door. Kitchen small and cupboards too high to reach safely.
