Wow! We absolutely loved our stay at Meine Ecke! This apartment is the most comfortable and well-appointed we have ever stayed in. The apartment is situated in a quiet street just a few moments walk from the main shopping area in one direction and the beach in the other. A (narrow) parking spot was included right next to the building. The apartment itself is spacious, light-filled and really nicely decorated with a beachy theme. The bed was the most comfortable bed we slept in in four weeks of travelling. The beautiful living area/kitchen included a big, comfy sofa, a large table which was great to work on and a galley-style kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The bathroom was really gorgeous with a wonderful shower. There was even a laundry with washer, dryer and hanging racks. And lovely views from all the windows. The owners, Katharina and Marc, always corresponded in a friendly, welcoming manner and although we didn't get to meet them in person, we were met by a friend who showed us around the apartment and explained the workings of it (in German, so we didn't understand everything but got the gist! - lots of miming!). I really appreciated the written information about the apartment and the town supplied by Katharina and Marc, especially the information about the sorting of rubbish (always an issue when staying in a new town or country as everyone has different requirements). This info was only in German though and despite the help of Google Translate, I'm not sure I understood it all correctly. Perhaps this information could be supplied in English? Eckernforde is a gorgeous seaside town with a really welcoming feel. We are planning to return and hope to stay in Meine Ecke again. It was superb (but I wish I hadn't told you that because now it will be tricky to ever find it available again!).
