We arrived at the hotel and noticed a lot of lizards all over the place. We were then checked in the room and we noticed a lot of bugs + lizards in the room and even in our pillow and bed. We told that we preferred to search for another accomodation because we were not comfortable sleeping with lizards or bugs. The only thing the owner said is 'that we needed to pay'. He obviously didn't care about anything else than his money. He demanded us to go fetch money from the ATM in town and bring it, which we did, although we also saw there was an option to pay with credit card. After that we left. Tldr: don't go there unless you like sleeping with bugs and lizards and if you want to be treated rudely. We also see that the owner is really agressively replying to every negative feedback , I wouldn't be surprised if he does the same now.

The breakfast was lovely and we looked forward to it everyday. It usually consisted of a selection of fresh fruit, fruit juice, coffee, eggs (optional ham & cheese added), tomatoes and avocado. Perfect way to start the day! The staff (shoutout to Valerio and the kitchen/housekeeping crew!) was incredibly helpful and kind. Valerio helped arrange our transport to and from the airport, coordinated our scooter rental and also recommended some fantastic restaurant options. The breakfast crew always greeted us with a smile in the mornings and prepared the most delicious scrambled eggs. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and the perfect place to read a book on a lazy, late afternoon. The location is away from the main strip and while walkable, I would recommend either renting transport or going via moto-taxi. We loved that we could retreat from the buzz of the main strip to a calm and relaxing home-base.

Can't complain about a thing!

The management, Valerio is an incredible host and person. He always goes the extra mile and is probably one of the most excellent hosts we have ever met, and just a really sweet, caring and kind person. He just makes you feel at home. Also the place is so beautiful and it’s extremely quiet which you for sure will need after being out and about in Las Terrenas. The breakfast is absolutely perfect, it’s so tasteful, fresh warm bread, fresh juice every day, egg, vegetables, and something to look forward to every single day. We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Las Terrenas.

We found one cockroach in the bathroom that we killed. Also in such a beautiful place we think there should be hand soap provided in the room.

This is a little oasis of calm, tucked away in its own tranquil grounds but just a short drive to the restaurants and beaches of lively, charming Las Terrenas - so the perfect location. The layout of the hacienda, set around a gem-like pool and within beautifully landscaped gardens, was simple and elegant with the rooms arranged around the pool area. Our room was clean and spacious, our host charming - and breakfast, served across the lawn in a little thatched dining room, was absolutely delicious. With only a handful of rooms and an adults-only booking policy, this felt really special.

Our room was on the shadier side so it was more difficult to dry towels and swimming costumes - but not a major issue.

The hacienda is just beautiful, located in a calm part of Las Terrenas (5 mins to the beach by car), nicely equipped and very well maintained. The absolute highlight, though, was the staff, everyone is smiling at you, breakfasts were delicious, and the host Valerio gave us many helpful tips for what to do (not only in the Samaná peninsula but also in other parts of the island) and even helped us organize a tour to the Los Haitises national park and Cayo Levantado. Grazie mille, Valerio!

The breakfast was great, the quietness of the place, the room and hotel are just as seen in the pictures. The host is super attentive and helpful at all times.

New ownership to the hotel and they just start take reservation. Very kind and wish to help staff. Got an upgrade for the room (on house as a honeymoon goodwill gesture). Got a very good feeling that they where happy we there. We have been sorry to be there only for one night

The property is beautiful, well decorated calm and charming. The breakfast is cooked on site by the owner and in magnificent. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Perfect for those looking for a quiet place.

The amenities in the bathroom were not the best, namely the hot water sometimes did not arrived. The air conditioner had a scheduled time to work, only during the night time.

This place is wonderful. It is spacious, well-taken care of, clean and beautiful. We enjoyed our stay at Hacienda Terra Taina very much. Mathias and Markus are most kind, welcoming and helpful. They gave us lots of recommendations about what there was to do in Las Terrenas and how best we could get around the area. We felt very well taken care of and the breakfast was absolutely delicious every single day. We would definitely recommend and also come and stay here again.

The feeling of being at home while being on the other side of the world! Special thanks to our hosts that definitely know how to welcome people and make them feel good and at ease. Decor is unique, full of palm trees, nice swimming pool and big and comfortable rooms. The owners have even put some plugs ok for European devices!! At last some rooms with separate bathrooms that is great. And what can we say about the breakfast except THANK YOU CHEF!! They have prepared every day a different and fantastic breakfast with gluten and dairy free constraints. The owners will, if you wish, even organise the quad rental (delivered directly at the hotel and for half the price of others), excursions, guided tours, etc. They will give you great recommendations of restaurants, beaches, etc. Staff is always here and present for you but very very discreet and smiling. Very pleasant. Definitely one of the best place to stay in Dominican Republic.

The only “bad” thing is the time that flies way too fast when you are there!!

All the staff was super friendly. Place are extremly clean. Breakfast was super fresh , tasty and made with personal preferences of each client. There are two dogs there who is really making you feel like home. They are just sweeeet
