the booking.com website showed me the wrong photo of the room and it was a lot smaller than I thought. the staff were very understanding about this issue and went out of their way to find me another room in their Homestay.

Staying in this very old traditional house was a treat. The courtyard and the common room are very special places to spend time in. There is free coffee and tea and also drinking water.

Unfortunately, our quite big room was difficult to live in because of the two very big beds. It was hard to get to the bathroom along the end of the beds along a 30cm 'corridor'. There was also no chairs or place to put our luggage so we put them on one bed each. Perhaps the owners could make this room more comfortable to stay in.

Very great and comfortable bed, love the atmosphere and the public space available (bonus with laundry available). fun to experience the traditional housing. Host were very accommodating and assisted us with organizing transportation to from airport and rental.

As advertised, it’s a tight space but liveable.

The woman who let me inside is super nice and generous. She regularly looks after the property and always has a sweet demeanor. I also briefly met her cute kid and he was very polite. The courtyard is peaceful and a nice place to have a mid-afternoon lunch. The area surrounding the B&B is quiet but has a 7-Eleven a quick walk away (<5 mins). Would have rated a 9 if not for the below.

The mildew smell on the duvet was so strong that it kept me awake all throughout the first night. The second and third nights, I was sleep-deprived and fell asleep eventually, but the smell was still too strong. Airing out the room doesn't do much, and the A/C current isn't strong enough to remove the duvet odor. But it was already late when I arrived the first night, and I thought the smell would dissipate over time, but unfortunately it didn't. Bedding should be properly washed and dried before folding, especially a thick duvet like the one provided. Also, checkout time is misrepresented on the listing.

The old house was beautiful and Lili was very helpful. We did get lost because there are actually at least three locations of the same type of house, but Lili helped us get to where we needed to go.

The space around the beds Is narrow. It seems that the beds are queen size, which is lovely, but if you stay here it felt a bit tight sometimes with only two people because the space around the beds is small. If I were to stay again, I’d choose the room with the beds on two levels.

The traditional house is very nice renovated, especially we liked the patio, where one can relax, read, work... Also the common room very nice, for working (in case of rain, or too hoot in pation). Tea and coffee provided, also some traditional sweets. Washing machine available. The room is very small, but had additional entrance room and small kitchen, so enough space. There is good info material (leaflets, etc) about Kinmen touristic spots available in the house. The location is around 6 km outside of the town, in another small village, with still many traditional houses. Some local restaurants with friendly staff available. So it was nice to walk around and explore the neighborhood. But for going to town, you need to figure out the bus connections, or have bicycle, motorbike, or car. In the town (and in the nearby university) you can rent bicycles at a station/shared bikes.

Even booking.com says that airport transfer is free, the management was not very forthcoming. Only upon our insistence, we were finally fetched from the airport (but said only one way transfer included, so going back we went by taxi) Besides, we were pressured to rent a motorbike (which in the end we did not, we preferred to go around by bicycle, bus, and sometimes taxi. As the managements manages a couple of properties, management is not there to give advice. We would have appreciated advice how to rent a bicycle, and about the bus schedule for improved mobility.
