Beautiful loft built over rustic barn.
Situato nella splendida John River Gorge, tra Blowing Rock e Grandfather Mountain, GLOBE VALLEY RANCH è ', dove il marciapiede finisce' e inizia la tua vacanza da sogno. We are repeat visitors at Globe Valley and you simply must check out this barn. The Murphy's have done an amazing job turning this loft into a cozy space for gathering with friends or family. A sprawling kitchen island and large table to accommodate everyone. All the comforts of home packed into this lovely barn next to the river. Grab a pole and a float and come relax. You won't regret it :)

Relaxing
Rented this cabin to be near the Pisgah and do some fishing. This was the perfect location for me. River access on the property was nice. Plenty of wildlife seen on the property also. Would stay again.

Fantastic place very peaceful
The barn had absolutely everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Very well equipped with necessary items and lots of fun stuff for the kids as well. We had a great time down at the river, playing darts in the barn, having fires outside for roasting marshmallows, playing board games, and just sitting on the deck watching the sun set. The location is secluded and pretty off grid. To get almost anywhere you will have a dirt road in your future. We did not mind this at all. Maybe a better sheet of instructions would have been helpful, but we found everything we needed eventually. We will be back!

Get away from it all
We enjoyed our stay in the barn. It was clean and comfortable. Beautiful property and river access. No close by groceries or restaurants so plan to stop in Blowing Rock or Lenoir.

Unique VRBO provides special memories
The Loft over the Barn provided a delightful base for our exploration of Blowing Rock, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls, Morganton and Lake James. Morning coffee and evening cocktails were enjoyed on the deck overlooking the meadow and forest. Dinners were enjoyed on the large kitchen island - with only the two of us, the dining room table for 6 was far too big, while the swivel stools at the island enabled us to watch TV sports as we ate. Plenty of utensils, china, pots/pans made cooking dinner easy, which after each day full of exploration, sightseeing, and hiking was most welcome. . . as was the shower with plenty of hot water and great water pressure! Homey touches added to our enjoyment - the tobaggan from LL Bean in the dining room, the interesting ceiling fixtures by each bedroom dresser, the comfy leather recliner. If you have children or grandchildren with you, there are plenty of puzzles and games, a swing set, and other playground equipment. The only challenge was the ten miles of unpaved gravel road for the most direct route to Blowing Rock - however, we discovered it was easily traversed in our sedan, so no problem! Thanks to this VRBO for special memories!

Exactly what we were hoping for
We had a lovely three nights in the barn. The space was cozy and charming. It felt secluded and far away, but we were close to great hikes in multiple directions. Great base for those, but we ended up doing less of that than we’d planned, because the kids had such a great time playing in the river at the edge of the property. Five stars from all of us.

Unexpectedly short visit
We had plans to stay 4 nights in the barn. When we woke up after the 1st night, we found out our 19 year old Chihuahua that we had taken with us had passed away. She belonged to my parents and sister who had already passed so we knew they would want us to take her back to be buried at home. I contacted the Murphy's and they were very understanding when I told them we had to leave. We talked on the phone about a possible refund but no specifics. We just knew we had to go home for burial. I found out the next day that we had been refunded the majority of our charges. I was pleasantly surprised! They were very kind and generous with us. Great folks to work with and we will try it again at a later time!

Little oasis
Beautifully restored barn located off the grid. Our family enjoyed a week off peace in the countryside along with our dog. Location was Private clean and overall just a beautiful place. We will definitely be back again thank you so much.

Beautiful place for a getaway
Beautiful location on the mountains and a great property. Plenty of room to walk the dogs and amazing river access for fishing. It is definitely worth the price and the owner was very nice and accommodating.

Truly Wonderful
Our third trip to Globe Valley Ranch and this is such a fantastic place to stay!! This time we celebrated our son's 5th birthday with family and grandparents here and everyone LOVED it. A beautiful weekend with a beautiful view!! Can't wait to go back :)

Great mountain getaway!
We booked a last minute trip to NC to take our daughter to see snow. This property was absolutely exactly what we wanted...in the mountains, away from people with great outdoor opportunities. We got snow the first day. The next day it was melted, but it gave us more time to spend down by the river. The barn had everything we needed, but make sure you bring all your food and drinks because it is not a quick trip to the store. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are seriously considering coming back in warmer weather. Thank you!!

Wonderful place in the Johns river valley.Secure and secluded yet not too far from nearby activities (if you ever want to leave the property). Great river access on property. Clean comfortable loft above barn. We had a great time and will definitely be back in the future.

Great Weekend Away from It All
Spend the Thanksgiving weekend to get away. The cabin was comfortable and cozy. Everything we needed was available. But plan ahead there is no quick trip to the store if you forget something. The property was everything we hoped for and the kids favorite was roasting hot dogs for a picnic by the river. Can't wait to come back.

Very nice place and away from everything like we expected.
was clean when arrived had everything we needed. The place was great with a river not to far where you could fish or dip in. Didnt have signal but had wifi which was great overall i would go back to the same place when we decide to ho visit again.

Perfect Place!
Me and my family had a blast here. We loved the secluded location. Loft is stocked with all necessities. Very clean! Kids and the dog enjoyed the river. We caught fish each day. Saw deer and turkeys around the barn also. Can’t wait to go back in a couple months.

Wonderful place in the middle of nature
Beautiful loft on top of a barn bordering Pisgah National Forrest. Acres of space for hikes, games or jogging. River is close by with swimming holes and fishing. Short drive to Blowing Rock and Boone. Host was always extremely receptive.

Had everything we needed !!
The house was well kept, clean and stocked with toilet paper and your main essentials! Not all VRBO’s have this which was great since the closest store is a 30 min drive. The home is far enough out that you have the farm feel and only a 30 to 40 min drive either way to activiies! The grounds are amazing and there is plenty of space for kids to roam and explore! It’s a charming home and we will be back! We even got some snow on our last night which is what we were hoping for! Thanks again, our stay was most enjoyable !

A beautiful, cozy loft overlooking a stunning backdrop
The loft over the barn has a beautiful rustic design. It's a quaint location overlooking acres of a beautiful open field with a nearby creek. It is the perfect getaway for adults or children with a swingset close by and a fire pit, perfect for nightly smores. My family and I have been coming here for 6 years now and look forward to it every year.

Great Rental
We booked this barn cabin at the last moment. From the pictures we were attracted to its location, river accessibility and swing set. We were not to excited because the listing shows no internet connection however we found that it does. The cabin is much more than what is shown/described in the listing. It was clean and well furnished.. The views are amazing with the James River (good fishing/tubing) a few yards down hill. We spent time around the cabin for the most part but we did visit Wilson's Creek (great place and highly recommend). We also spent a day in Blowing Rock on our way back home. The owners were very responsive. Our first night a storm knocked out the electricity. At first we were concerned because we had no cell-phone reception and the LAN phones were cordless. However we noticed they had an analog phone, candles, owner phone numbers and flashlights for emergencies. We dialed up the owner and within 1 hour had the power restored. Overall we were really impressed and will be back.

Very Nice!
This is a very, very, nice & cute loft. We loved the smell of wood work every time we entered through the front door. It was very convenient that it was fully furnished. We would definitely rent this property again. We spent a lot of time on Homeaway.com in hopes that we would find a nice rental. Boy, did we hit the jackpot!!! We can't wait to go back. The property is very nice as well. Surrounded by mountains, a river runs through it, very beautiful & peaceful!

Great cabin and beautiful property
We spent a weekend at the loft at Globe Valley and would definitely be back again. The loft was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked at home both nights we were there. The wood stove kept the place nice and cozy. There was plenty of wood in the cabin to use on the stove, for which we were grateful. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed exploring around. We would definitely stay here again if we're back in the area!

Great place for the family for the Labor Day Weekend.
Plenty of opportunities to keep everyone as busy or lazy as we wanted to be.
Tubing and lounging in the river, hiking and quiet.
Wi-Fi , TV and outstanding movie collection on hand, if you wanted it.
Plenty of space and great supply of necessities on hand.
Can't wait to book it again soon.
