Friendly staff very helpful
I knew there was no food available in the evening but it wasn’t made clear that there was no breakfast either until we arrived. (I visited in person about 2 weeks prior to our booking!)

Double charged me, no breakfast even though stated it was available, room was in disrepair.

Nothing
The filth. The tap that didn't produce hot water. The banging pipe work that was around our room above the carpet. The coat hanger. no cupboard. No shelves. Just a coat hanger. The room was terrible. I have stayed in places. But seriously this was worse than my nightmares. The shower head was so brown with filth.i hope you have heard of Legonaire
The carpet. Yuck sticky vile. .the no hot water. The place is beyond bad. I'd rather do a night in Full Sutton Prison.
How this can be advertised is wrong. False advertising is I believe illegal. We complained and were told that room would be condemned.
To pay £74 on a black Friday deal. Is ridiculous.
4 pound would be to much..but if you spread into nights in hell holes. Please do let me know. Oh sorry you did.

We’ve been to Settle quite a few times and decided to stay at “our local” when we’re there. We knew what to expect, didn’t mind the music or any noise. It has a nice atmosphere, a bit confusing with the flitting between music genres, one minute it’s a rave, next it’s 80’s 🤣 lovely location. Checked in late evening, greeted by the staff who were lovely. Breakfast was only available the second day, and they said they’d refund the price of breakfast for the first as the chef didn’t turn in but it was lovely. The bed was comfy and the room was warm enough with it being -5 outside. Good value for money because we got a Black Friday discount so would stay again if it was same price range.
The cleanliness of the room, small things but should have been avoided. The toilet hadn’t been flushed and it wasn’t a pretty sight to be greeted by 💩 and the short and curlies all over the toilet seat too 🤮. The breakfast not being available the first day was a bit of a let down but as long as I get it refunded, I’m happy. Was just about to leave when someone from the other room asked me about our stay, and then showed me their room, let’s just say I was chuffed we were in room 3 rather than their room. Mucky coffee cup left from last guest too.

Location
It was dated

Bed very comfy with lovely bedding.
Nice building with atmosphere.
Breakfast was tasty and filling but with no frills.
The building is obviously very old and in need of a lot of maintenance. This makes it difficult to clean properly.
The men's toilet in the bar was dirty - no excuse.

Our room was over the high street and we had a long , wide window seat . At the end of the evening it was nice to sit there with a drink and watch the world go by .
The breakfast was not hot , just luke warm. Not nice.

Managed to sort out my booking problem and room i had was very spacious and comfy bed.
Little minor problem, loud noise when either the heating or hot water was kicking in.

Friendly, professional staff, warm welcome
Very comfortable bed and pillows.
Breakfast was lovely, good selection and service was prompt.
Toilet flush button missing, had to press plastic insert.
Bath plug not working via lever had to physically lift it to empty shower water.
No complementary toiletries.
Paintwork on Windows and door to room needed repainting (flaking paint)

Good location in the centre of Settle.
Shabby room needs a complete refurbishment. No shower gel, paint peeling off the wall, very poor.
3.4
Staff were helpful as they could be under difficult circumstances.
Heating was beltting out 24/7. Impossible to sleep. No working TV in the room and no proper wardrobe.
3.4
We were told breakfast cereal would be left out for us as we had a very early start, cereal was left out but no milk so couldn’t eat anything

Friendly staff
They had a problem with the heating, so on one of the hottest days of the year so far we had a pipe running through our room that was boiling, so it made sleeping uncomfotable.

The manageress was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
The room was very bad. It was in a poor state of repair and decoration eg the windows require replacing, my 4 year old granddaughter could have done a better job hanging the curtains in the bedroom and there were no curtains or blinds in the bathroom. On a hot day the old hot water piped running through the room made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. The manageress has requested Stonegate address this but her pleas have fallen on deaf ears. Hence these negative comments are directed towards Stonegate.

Location near to our destination.
Hottest day of year. 3 inch diam red hot pipe ran through bedroom. Sleep impossible. Staff member said they couldn't do anything but that they were waiting for an engineer. So fault was known and they still booked the room out!!

Breakfast was well presented and tasted beautiful and generous portion. The hotel was ideally located close to The Victoria Hall theatre where we saw Skerryvore in concert.
If anything the only thing I could comment about is that the car park is a bit on the small size but the hotel really can't do anything about that.
3.4
Location was ideal and staff very friendly. I realise a new manager had only been in situ for a couple of days
consequently my comments do not appertain to the new management.
The room was deficient in several ways.
1. tv didn’t work - no remote - integral on/off didn’t work.
2. Main room light too dim
3. Bedside lights - one didn’t work the other too bright
4. Shower made a heck of a noise in operation and was not easy to control.
5. Mold on window frame.
3.4
Clean and good breakfast
Our room overlooked the main road and we were woken by quarry wagons thundering past noisily, which didn't stop then all the time we were in the room.
3.4
location was handy and the bed comfortable
Room 3 bathroom door falling off hinges, industrially hot pipe running through room, no toiletries (which seemed to come as a surprise to the manager), toilet flush button broken, flaking paint around the room, bedroom carpet had dubious stains, breakfast was basic, breakfast coffee undrinkable, bathroom extractor fan clogged with dust and fluff. We did receive a partial refund after complaining but we were paying £135 per night with a certain expectation. None of these issues should come as a surprise as there are many Booking comments stating similar. Looks like they have a fast turn around of management who have struggled. I appreciate comments from owner have stated refurb is due but that has no relevance to the experience currently provided by the hotel.

very comfy bed, much needed after completing the Yorkshire three peaks.
Room number 1 very noisy, we think it was from the kitchen / bar area. constant loud noise of taps/ boiler until midnight and again early morning.
ordered a vegetarian breakfast…. no issues were highlighted during our order. we were served a plate of tomatoes, hash brown beans and mushrooms (that were cold) and the man that served us stated quorn sausages would take 20 minutes to cook. we stated we would wait however he basically said it would be too long and he wasn’t prepared to cook them. we then stated we weren’t vegetarian and would have normal sausages if he wasn’t prepared to cook quorn ones which we prefer. he then told us we should have ordered a normal breakfast as vegetarian isn’t popular and not something he pre cooks.

Location of the hotel
No toiletries. No biscuits. No water. No wardrobe. Cold breakfast. Lack of food choice. Very very basic room. Not three star, barely two. At 135 for the night extremely poor value for money. Left me feeling ripped off. Will never book with this group again. Stayed elsewhere in the area the previous few days. All were much less expensive and head and shoulders above this awful place.

Breakfast and bar area
The windows in the room were full of mould with plaster peeling off the wall. very tired and in need f some improvements. also loads of tab ends on the outside tables and surrounding area
3.4
The hospitality and the breakfast is great.....
The staff (what's left) really do their best, the rooms and the bedding are clean but bathroom doors hanging off in this day and age is really not acceptable, apparently the manager and others walked out recently leaving the chef to run the place, conciqently no other food was available and its only a matter of time before he burns up and walks out....so come on owner's look after the staff and spend some money on the place before it folds altogether....
3.4
The bedroom was clean and comfortable.
The pub was very tired with very little atmosphere. The furniture was sparse with no roaring fires to sit in front off.
The breakfast was ok but the room smelt from the night before.
3.4
Friendly service and a good breakfast. Great location for Pen Y Ghent and the surrounding hills.
Noise from the road can disturb sleep.
