Staff so attentive and caring and genuine, location superb, set apart for privacy but near enough to local amenitites

We loved our stay. Caniço is a beautiful and relaxing location. The house is close to restaurants, shops, Reis Magos beach, and even walking to Cristo Rei was possible ( great views). The house has everything you need. A fully equipped kitchen , outdoor space to relax, a nice living room. The host Paulo and Rodrigo were welcoming & helpful. They allowed a flexible check-in/ checkout. Senhor Paulo even gave us a ride to the airport. We felt at home. Obrigada 🙏🏼💙

Location was a little bit far from things but that is reflected in the low price. Plenty of room for two people and a long stay. There is parking in the garage but we didn't use it. Neighbors were friendly and our dog enjoyed the company of the two across the street. Very sunny on the veranda until about midday. Best to have a car unless you want to do a lot of sunbathing on the veranda. It has most everything you need except not enough ant killer. Bed is comfortable, veranda is huge, good pizza down the street. Easy to collect the keys and check out with relative of the owner.

Ants, ants, ants. Despite using the last bit of ant killer provided (which was not near enough), mopping the kitchen floor multiple times, and trying hard to keep any food crumbs non-existent, I battled the ants for the 2 weeks we were there. When I mention this to the owner and asked for more ant killer, he only replied, "In Madeira we have this problem with the ants due the hot weather." We had been in Madeira for two months and stayed at 4 other places, only one place did I see a dozen ants, not hundreds. Shower could use some work, we fixed the shower head which was not usable on arrival. Must keep water on high volume to maintain hot water, however, water gets very hot and if you turn it down too much you will suddenly be taking a cold shower. Likely we would have complained more to Bookings but it was Carnival week and not easy to find another place and we had a lot of luggage with no car.

The flat is nice, well decorated, good Wifi and all the facilities you need (cutlery, glasses, washing machine...)

Parking spot can be a bit tricky, rather on the small side.
