Courtyard sitting area, traditional style/decor, location and laundry. Also the breakfast goodies jam, butter, museli etc were very much appreciated.

Schönes und außergewöhnliches modernes Design in einem alten Haus - alles in einwandfreiem Zustand. Die Betten sind bequem. Zentrale Lage. Gute Restaurant um die Ecke. Manos, der Gastgeber hat sich um alles gekümmert und ist super freundlich!

The Lemon Garden feels really secluded and tranquil - as soon as you enter the courtyard, you're enclosed by the beautiful garden, which is full of fruit trees and vines and quirky touches. Lovely place to sit out and enjoy a coffee. The rooms are traditional and charming and well-equipped. Also, Manos is a fantastic host who really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He even paid for our wine when he saw us in a nearby taverna one evening! The location is ideal, too - close to the centre, but on a quiet street away from the crowds.

Nice cozy stay at a short walking distance to the old city. The host was always available and happy to help.

Driving & parking in the area can get tough, although the host found parking for us.

Very clean, very spacious, very rustic and authentic! A lot of character, a whole lot of soul!! The garden is incredible, the location is perfect, very quiet and very welcoming! Gorgeous quiet place, welcoming, helpful host. Great position

The property was beautifully appointed, with all small details like toiletries and many plants and flowers throughout. Beds were comfortable and bedding was lovely. While not right downtown, it was close enough to walk to everything and was quiet and calm at night. The host, Manos, is so kind and helpful with every detail.

A few basic things in the kitchenette like salt and pepper, some olive oil, maybe some tea, would be nice. Also a bit difficult to find - taxi drivers from the airport did not know where it was located.

The owner, Manos, is a very friendly man. He makes you feel at home immediately. We could check out later without any problem.

The only thing was that one of the bedrooms did not have an airconditioning.

The owner Manolis was very friendly and welcoming....he checked on us everyday and was always greeting us with a smile. Wonderful stay and very pleasant place.

Lovely newly refurbished large studio room tucked away in a little courtyard (with lemon trees of course!). Lemon garden is within the city walls and a short walk to the busy part of town - so easy to get around, but peaceful at night. Manos was very friendly and welcomed us and also recommended a local restaurant which we enjoyed.

Very nice, clean room, with kitchen facilities and separate bathroom in a lovely quiet part of town. Hotel was very quiet so we also mostly had sole use of the garden.

Room we had was a little cramped and not a lot of natural light - not like the photos. No big deal for us as we were only there for a couple of nights, and because it was quiet we were able to leave our door open.

We loved that the host left us toast & butter. He left jam also that looked wonderful, but we could not determine if it had been opened prior so we did not eat it.

I chose this accommodation because I liked the old character of the rooms. I think maybe they gave me a “ better” room as it did not have the stone wall character I was looking for BUT it was a very well designed space with a lovely kitchen, 2 small outside sitting spaces plus the sweet public area garden spaces and a beautiful bathroom with lots of hot water and good water pressure. It is very clean & the bed and pillows were very comfortable and in general the room was so very comfortable and we were so weary from travel that I probably was happier with the room I got than I would’ve been with the room I thought I wanted. The owners are on site and very friendly, helpful and offered nice suggestions for our visit. the location is just under 15 minutes to the port and the shops and restaurants in that area but there are nice restaurants nearby.

Apartment had great character and big outdoor space.

Location was good but slightly tricky to find as it's about 15-20 mins walk from the centre of town. Shower was also a bit small but had good pressure.

We liked the location. It isnt central but is in easy walking distance of everything. We liked being able to sit relax and eat / drink.in the garden. Manos was an excellent host. Available and gelpful when needed.

Parking can be a bit difficult. Needed a few times circling around to fins a spot for the hire car on a Saturday evening ... we ended up about 5 minutes fast walk away.

11/10!!!! I stayed at the Lemon Garden for almost 2 months and had a FABULOUS time!! Manos and Family were incredible hosts!! I was very well oriented, the accommodations were comfortable, the garden was lush with plants and of course a blooming lemon tree! Situated in Old Heraklion, there was a very cool vibe, and the town's center was super close to walk to everyday for something nice or new to do. In addition to the well equipped kitchen set up, Manos would bring me extra goodies from his Mom's kitchen like stuffed veggies and a delicious slice of pastitsio to try!! What nice family and town to vacation during the winter!! I made a top ten list: Things I love about Heraklion/Lemon Garden 1) Fresh squeezed orange juice from Manos’s trees for breakfast every morning 2) Fresh squeezed lemon juice for everything else, from the garden outside my window 3) Sleeping very late and drinking coffee in bed 4) Yogurt honey and nuts for breakfast 5) Bluest of skies and temperature between 14 – 22 in February and March 6) Fireplace in the bedroom with lots of wood to burn – marshmallows and hot dogs to roast 7) Short walking distance to the main center square. From many directions. 8) ****Walking the back “roads” alley ways through old Heraklion through the residential areas*** My favorite!! 9) Niko’s butcher shop up the street with the best pork steak and fresh soft cheese. 10) The blue green ocean from the Venetian port.

Lovely and cozy spot, centrally located but quiet. Manos was incredibly kind and helpful and the patio was perfect.

Everything was great.

The apartment is beautifully designed, the hosts have done a great work at it. Everything was fine, the apartment is a few minutes from the city center and it is easy to reach it on foot. There are parking spots in the street nearby, not directly at the door, but it is easy to park around - at least in wintertime.

It was all fine, the apartment is great for a weekend or for a few days for a couple travelling in Heraklion.

beautiful little oasis in the heart of heraklion old town. wonderfully decorated with clever and tasteful features and decor. just loved everything about it. will be back over and over again. I can’t recommend it enough. and Manos is a wonderful kind and knowledgeable person.
