Creekside Cottage near Daniel's Lake

We love staying at the cabin with a stream and peaceful woods. I even hopped in the canoe and turned circles on the lake on a windy night. The beds were comfy and the place was spotless with so many personal touches. We forgot to sign the cute little guest book, which I am sad about. We also broke the toilet seat somehow and they came and fixed it immediately. Very kind!

We stayed here for several nights, and it was very peaceful and quiet. The property is super clean and cozy. We appreciated the directions to take a short walk and see the fish ladder.

The Creekside Cottage was the perfect place for some rest and relaxation during a busy soccer weekend. The directions given were easy to follow. We were greeted at the door with a sweet welcome sign, easy check in process, very clean, organized and homey. It was a nice surprise to have waters already in the fridge and a wide variety of quick snacks. Extra blankets were available if needed. The creek right outside was the icing on the cake, our kids loved to watch the fish swim and jump the rocks on their journey. Wonderful experience and would highly recommend to anyone!

This was a very nice place to stay! We were welcomed with a great sign on the front porch, which was a very nice touch! It was very comfortable and had everything we needed and wanted!! There were even some really nice amenities like hot chocolate, tea, coffee, instant oatmeal, granola bars, etc. which were very appreciated! They even had games and plenty of things to read about what to do in the area. There were binoculars there to use, which were great when we had the mama moose and her baby right next to the property. The stream in the back and lake across the street were really nice! We saw 1 salmon trying to make her way back to the lake! We enjoyed the canoe which was provided as well. The owner even stopped to help us carry it and put it into the water! The hosts were fantastic and were checking to see if we needed anything! It was also nice to have a place to do our laundry with everything provided. We enjoyed our stay here and felt very comfortable, like we were at home. Lisa even provided us with some lists of things that we might like to do. It was a very nice stay! I know you will enjoy it too! It is a long way to the other side of the Peninsula though!

I styed one night at this property in mid-September. The hosts Lisa and Dan were super responsive and gave me great suggestions for supplies and food I would need for my fishing trip. Place was immaculate and well stocked. I got to watch the salmon swimming upstream in the back yard complete with a bald eagle in the tree top. Lake across the street was beautiful but unfortunately I did not have time to take the kayak out.
Even saw the Northern lights when I left very early the next morning. Highly recommend this property

Really nothing negative to say about this place, as the hosts have created a wonderful vacation home in a great spot. The house was immaculate, and all that the listing says about the property is true. My husband and I were very happy to stay here, and I think a family with two kids who like the outdoors would love it (summer or winter due to the warm municipal pool with water slide not far away). We hope to return for a longer stay next summer.

Could not say enough about how beautiful this place is, and how wonderful our host was. The fish running up the creek behind cabin, the beautiful lake, the eagles, loons… the wildlife was spectacular. Fishing the Swanson River, rock picking at Captain Cook Rex area.. just fantastic. Highly recommend!!

We loved everything about this property and Lisa was fabulous! The property was immaculate, the lake beautiful, Lisa went over and beyond in welcoming us with a super cute chalkboard poster on the front porch saying “welcome Sally and Dennis.” We will be sure to book with her again. Also her bed and sheets were oh so comfortable.

Such nice proprietor, I was having medical issues when I was there. Lisa and her daughter, brought me some chicken noodle soup as well as Gatorade to help me! So caring and thoughtful, if we had just people like Lisa, her husband and family, our world would be perfect!!! Thanks to Lisa and Dan. God Bless!!

This was the perfect stop on our first trip to Alaska. It was peaceful with the creek out the back door. We enjoyed canoeing on the lake. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meals. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. We would love to come back in a couple years.

This is the most charming little place, and we loved it. We were in AK for two weeks, and stayed here about halfway thru. We enjoyed some down time, did laundry to get us thru the second half of our trip, and enjoyed the peace this place offered. It has a full kitchen, full sized appliances, and stocked pantry. Plenty of teas, oatmeal, granola bars, etc, and coffee pot. We loved our stay here. Lots of space to spread out. The Creek is so relaxing to listen to. Also, has a great porch space, but the mosquitos were too bad to be able to enjoy it. Oh, and speaking of mosquitos, the owner provided bug zapper rackets, to zap the mosquitos with....one on each level. So very satisfying! The only downside for us, is that the bedrooms are on the lower level, and the bathroom is upstairs, but other than that, this place is pretty perfect.

We had a beautiful stay in the house by the lake. The home is well furnished and comfortable and Lisa is a great local host. The weather was not great but I did get in a little time using the canoe on the lake and even caught trout for dinner. Having a washer and dryer was essential since we'd already been traveling for a few days and . Lisa stopped by a couple of times to check in on us. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I can not say enough great things about the owners of the property. They are true, salt of the Earth folks. Can’t recommend staying in the cottage high enough.

We used the cabin as home base for our road trip across the Kenai Peninsula…Seward, Soldotna, Homer and lots of places in between. Lisa/Dave(owners) were very helpful with answering questions both before and after arrival. There was a cute welcome board with our names waiting by the front door. The cabin was well equipped for our stay and the washer/dryer was a huge plus. We cooked in the crockpot so dinner was ready each day upon our return. We enjoyed the canoe on Daniel’s Lake while at the cabin. Nikiski was more rural than we at first thought… it turned out to be just fine.

Overall a very cute cabin! Note that family travelling with handicapped or seniors should know the bathroom is upstairs from the sleeping area and plan accordingly. Other than that, we had a great time!

Relaxing hidden getaway
The details on the description are spot on. The house was very clean, temperature controlled, great kitchen. I have nothing bad to say about this place.
Lisa text me the morning I was to arrive and have me all info needed. She even had it cleaned early and let us know we could arrive before the listed time.
Having use of the canoe for the lake was awesome! It’s not a far distance to pack and you’re on the water. After canoeing, build a small fire in the pit and listen to the creek.
I was fortunate enough to see a salmon headed up. It was an amazing sight!
I would recommend anyone wanting to really get away to book this magical place.

Home comforts
Spotless cabin , clean with every amenity across from a beautiful lake that we canoed and fished .Host was very pleasant and we cannot fault our stay .Visit to a deserted beach at the end of the highway watching the tide was glorious. Maybe a little out the way for those wanting to be near brighter lights of Homer etc .
