Very spacious private home and property. The views were outstanding! We prepared all of our meals in the large, well stocked kitchen and they provided everything we needed for cooking & barbecuing during our stay. The 3 king beds were all very comfortable and they provided plenty of bedding, hot tub towels & bath towels. We loved the nature trails and walking around the property. It is located down a very steep dirt road, but we had no problem getting there with our SUV and the excellent directions. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and spacious property. The drawbacks were minimal, but should be noted: 1. Upon arrival the house smelled very musty & had to be aired out for quite awhile. 2. Although we knew in advance that check out was at 10am, it seems unreasonably early and doesn’t line up well with the summer ferry schedule, unless you plan on being in the ferry line by 10am for the 11am ferry. We had 4 hours between check out and boarding time, which is too long in Friday Harbor. A lot of the shops weren’t open or didn’t make it during Covid it looks like. 3. Be aware, the cleaning person arrives before check out and just waits for you to leave. Is it so they can collect another $200 from you if you’re late? It wasn’t a problem for us, but the next person will want to be prepared. 4. This is a gorgeous water view, but it is not a water front property. There is technically access to the water, but it is treacherous and rocky. You go down a path, over a log, and down the stairs. Once you get to the bottom of the stairs a rope is provided and it leads to the water and to very large slippery rocks, with no beach to enjoy.5. The hide-a-bed in the living room was uncomfortable. You might want to bring an air mattress if you need the extra sleeping space. 6. The bedspreads and pillow shams are ancient and need to be replaced (specifically in the master bedroom).

This is a beautiful home in a private setting. There are views of the Salish Sea from the living areas and two of the bedrooms, and multiple decks from which to enjoy the view and fresh air. The house and the hot tub were clean and ready for use. The kitchen is well organized and stocked with dishes, pans, etc, anything you might need. There is plenty of space to hang out together or to be alone. It is convenient to Friday Harbor, which has plenty of restaurants and shops, and is the setting out point for whale watching and ferries.

This vacation rental was exquisite, and we are so grateful for our time here. Everything was as described or better. The home is well appointed, and we lacked for nothing. The love and care that the owners put into this home is evident all around, including the nature trail with all the hidden critters (don't miss Piper & Grey's bungalow!). We were a group of friends enjoying a girl’s getaway and celebrating 27 years of friendship. This adventure will go down as one of the best. Our unending views included sightings of deer, seals, and a spectacular display of Northern Lights on May 10, 2024. Thank you for sharing this home with us!

Stonecliff has all the water views you could ask for in a San Juan Island house (other islands, Mt. Baker, sunrises) plus your own private forest trails. Complete privacy in a beautiful place, yet only a few minutes from Friday Harbor in one direction, and Roche Harbor in the other. We never tired of the walk through the forest. (And yes, spotting the mantis is very tricky.) We've already reserved another two weeks for next year.

We loved the full ocean views, private cove excellent balconies and 15 acres of trails. The management company is excellent. We had mechanical issues with the hot tub which they promptly fixed. We loved the sunrises and spacious home. Highly recommend staying in this home.

My team and I had the BEST time at this property- I wish we had a longer stay to enjoy it all. BUT the views and the spacious home were SO cozy. The wall to wall windows overlooking the sound was SO peaceful. THANK YOU for an amazing stay!

Stonecliff is a beautiful home right on the water. We had amazing views of the sun rising over Mt. Baker every day. We had eagles, seals, and otters visit almost daily. We had easy access to Friday Harbor from our home. There was a nature trail behind the house. The hot tub was a nice way to end every day. House was clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend!!

Honestly one of the best places we've ever stayed. If you love comfort, convenience and nature you can't go wrong with this house. From the beautiful deck and hot tub we saw at least 15 species of birds, deer, river otters, harbor seals, and even orcas!!! House is well equipped and very comfortable. Highly recommend.

We have been to SJI a couple of times and stayed with our friends. We came with another couple and rented this perfect home. Beds are comfortable and I loved that there was PLENTY OF SEATING....COMFORTABLE SEATING so we could visit with our friends and enjoy the view. The road to get there is not paved, but was completely fine...we plan to rent again........

The house is nicely laid out; master bedroom off the kitchen and then two bedrooms upstairs for the kids. All bedrooms and bathrooms were a nice size. Lots of space to spread out. The owners have laid out a “critter” hunt in the front of the property where you can search for statues of dogs, butterflies, lizards etc. Everyone in the family enjoyed the hunt. And the view - just spectacular! We would love to come back.

We really enjoyed our time together with family in the San Juans. This house was out of the way, quiet with a beautiful view sitting inside as well as outside. The owners went to great lengths creating a very sweet animal hunt on the path right on the property. Very enjoyable.

Loved the time that we spent on San Juan. The home was all we hoped for. When we arrived the lights were on and music was playing to give it a fun atmosphere. The view from the balcony was incredible! We had a lot of fun on the hike through the woods looking for the creatures. We even found the illusive preying mantis, but we never found the small owls (2nd item on the list). We are not usually early morning people, but the sun coming up over the water was was beautiful to wake to. The tea house was cute (but a little stuffy like it doesn't get aired out enough).

We came out for the weekend with family (parents, grandparents and a 7 year old). We had an awesome time. The house is in a beautiful location and had everything we needed to enjoy the on property amenities. Hot tub was a big hit! The exercise room, the tea room and the movie collection were nice too! Check in and check out was super easy and painless. Friday harbor is a short drive away so we were able to pick up groceries and get food from there when needed. Overall, a great and relaxing stay and would love to come back some day!
