We loved the creative and artistic touches throughout the space. Elena is a kind, warm and helpful host. The quiet location is perfect for exploring the beautiful beach and just a few minutes walk to central Puerto Ayora. Our room had a lovely flower- filled porch. Breakfast is fantastic at the cafe in the lower level.

Location was great, so was the owner, who was lovely and very helpful.

Unfortunately the location means it gets very noisy once the traffic gets going in the morning.

Very comfortable, nice and well decorated, felt very cosy and homey. Our room was cleaned daily and the facilities were great.

Air conditioning was very loud, the place was quite difficult to find, had us walking in circles for a while, no breakfast

Very friendly and helpful host. Cozy hotel, good location a few minutes walk from the port and a supermarket and in front of Las Nymfas. We liked the nice ornaments, the flowers, and the shaded terrace in front of our room.

The kitchen facilities are very limited. Just as the large majority of hotels in Ecuador this hotel is also located right on the street, implying quite a lot of traffic noise. The iron chairs on our terrace were nice but uncomfortable. The hotel is relatively expensive, the cost-benefit balance is critical in terms of comfort and facilities.

the concept to recycle everything is nice. Terrace and the flowers outside are beautiful.

we were charged an extra 5 % because we were paying with credit card. That didn’t happen in any other hotel. And we were not told that before although I wrote an email and asked. The room seems old and especially the bath was dirty. also the coffee machine and the cups were not clean. we had a “Suite” with lake view. There was no lake view. We don’t understand the great reviews and expected more. Even the attention of the stuff was less than the average. sorry, but we were disappointed.

Fantastic host who helped us with tours and gave us lots of information. Loved the quirky decoration and patio area. Location is very close to town and pier. Bed comfortable and shower hot.

Loved the creative mosaic everywhere, the lovely gardens...the place has soul:) and the owner is super friendly and helpful.

This hotel is impressive with very beautiful design! I highly recommend it, it has good location, about 5 minute walk to the hotel from the dock. it’s very centric , has many travel agencies and restaurants nearby. the host is nice! she called taxi for me and recommended tours. we are a family of 4, and had a 2-story room with small kitchen. it has a patio. anyway I am still amazed by the hosts good test!! Her house reminds me the famous Spanish architect Gaudi, it has tons of details, used recycling material. it is a very unique house! We also had breakfast from the hotel, very delicious.

As the room was fully glassed on two sides and on a corner, there was a fair amount of traffic noise. I think some of the rooms with fewer windows would be quieter. Cute breakfast table on the balcony.

Casa del lago is a very comfortable & cozy place to stay in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz. The rooms are very cozy and well decorated and have very nice terraces to relax in the evening. The beds are comfortable. The place is very well located from walking distance from the port and from a big supermarket (proinsular). Elena is extremely welcoming, available and helpful. It was a pleasure to be her guest ! I highly recommend this place for any stay in Puerto Ayora.

Nothing! It is not as advertised. The kitchen cannot be used for cooking: smell for next customers. "The bedrooms" have no door. "Apartment" has no desk. No toilet tissue in the toilet, only in trash bin and no cleaning. No dinning table and chair in door; no room for those neither Wifi is so weak and on and off regularly. Don't be fool by the name "casa lago"; there is no lake to be seen from this dump.

These owners are the crooks.

Elena, the owner is very nice, helpful and available all the time....She speaks a perfect english...The rooms are cleans well decorated. The location is perfect...Highly recommended for your stay in Puerto Aroya
