Location, location, location. And options. 50 steps to the almost private beach (never seen there more than 5 people), beautiful sunsets, small, but lovely pool for evening dip. Friendly lizards, crabs and curious little frogs. Flowers that attract humming birds. This was our third time here, definitely not the last.

Some things need to be updated, Wi-Fi could work better.

Excellent location right on a very quiet beach . Walking distance to plage de la Perle with restaurants on the beach for lunch. Limited eating out in the evening but only a short drive to Deshaies with many restaurants. Loved it , perfect for a peaceful holiday ,hope to one day return.

Nothing, everything was great

the location and the ambience of the property. I had a room upstairs and the view every evening right into the sundown was so amazing.

unfortunately no Basics for cooking in the kitchen, like Oil, Salt, Pepper.

We liked comfortable bed in excellent shape and generous size, reliable water supply having constantly good pressure (not that granted on Guadeloupe :). The AC was also in top condition, working as brand new. We also apprecitated very kind and caring host. The best thing was definitely the place - simply excellent, with Rifflet beach just in front of the house and both La Perle and Grande Anse being in 10-20 minutes walking distance. There's also a small but sufficient grocery store about 5 minutes of walk from the house.

However the kitchen / dining room is very small even for just two persons, the available dishes were only a very basical set and there were a lot of insects in the kitchen all the time, including huge groups of tiny yellow ants - really too much even compared to common Guadeloupe standards. We also missed the mosquito cover over the bed and generally, this particular apartment we had needs a bit of renewal (the door locks get stuck easily, bathroom door not in good shape, there were metal nails sticking out of wooden parts of garden shower, etc.). The price to value ratio is neither good nor bad, it's simply just OK (but we expected a bit more, especially after reading the other reviews). However as mentioned earlier, there are five other apartments in the Katalo Villa and they all have different equipment and design, so this review is really related only to red-white apartment on the right side of the ground floor.

This was our 4th stay at this property. And it is the only place we would stay whenever we travel to Guadeloupe. Unfortunately ( for us) the place is so popular that we do not manage to get it each time when we plan a trip to Guadeloupe. Everything is just amazing about the place – but above all, it is the owner who makes the trip so memorable. I think she is one of the best hosts that we have met through our worldwide trips. The place is impeccably clean, well maintained and true to the description. And , as always, thank you for the fantastic trip.
