Hard to find entrance. Stood waiting in rain while calling host who wasn't on site and didn't seem to expect us. Had to search him out again to pay up. Lack of basics at cabin, coffee, napkins, tissues,

The place is pet friendly and it was a deceisive factor for us as we were traveling with our dog. We stayed in the house that was fairly recent one and very well set up (kitchen, washing machine, front terrace). The garden area is very extensive and beautiful. We initially came to stay just for one night and were welcomed with a bottle of wine, but liked to explore the area a bit more and decided to stay for one more night. Each house has a barbeque arrangement and people can enjoy it during the season. We were visiting in the quiet month and skipped it. There is an Ecovia trail within 11 min walk along the road, which is a green hiking path along the Lima river, along this path you can walk all the way to Ponte de Lima town (3.3 km) or in the opposite direction. And when we were leaving, the host gave us a souvenir. Great attention to the guests!

Wi-Fi wasn't working

We stayed in Casa da Oliveira, in the second location of Casas do Picoutinho. We loved everything. The houses are wonderfully decorated, the spaces inside/outside are well organized and clean. Every house has its own furnished porch, there are BBQs you can use and a nice pool. And of course the city of Ponte de lima is only 5 minutes away. Can't wait to come back with friends for more days!

Excellent layout of the area with a garden and a swimming pool. There is always somewhere to hide in the shade or sunbathe. We stayed in a private house that had air conditioner - very useful in a hot summer day. Our dog was welcome to the property (although we booked pet-friendly room to start with, the owner seemed surprised we didn't notify him in advance, but it wasn't a problem). Good wi-fi signal. The garden space near the rooms is enough to keep out of other guests' way. There is a bbq area with some outdoor dining possibilities. The kitchen had a coffee machine (Delta capsules), a kettle, a microwave, a fridge, an over and 4 hobs. All cooking utensils included. We loved the peaceful vibe, would come back for sure.

Kitchen workspace on a small side, but with a bit of moving things around it wasn't a huge issue. Early check-out (11:30am) and late check-in (5pm).
