No complaints regarding the premise/property

I investigated almost three weeks from many websites and this hotel was the outcome and I am super happy about my research. anything you expect you can get here. spectacular area well preserved by very nice gardeners. amazing rooms clean and comfortable. towels have been changed twice a day. 6 restaurants that can be used any time during day. buffet or no buffet. the food quality and taste was also without any question acceptable or even more. breakfast was the best thing I can talk about. me and my partner loved it. no issue about anything. best beaches I’ve ever been at was by this hotel. I don’t know why their ratings is below 9 honestly speaking while I am said that I’m too strict on hotels and their quality I could see nothing to complain about. I traveled to 4 cities and hotels in Dominican Republic and except one the rest were 5 star and this one was the best. I’ve been in other 5 star hotels so I know what best means.

only one big issue that if you leave this hotel you will miss their quality and also breakfast. and you can not find similar.

The hotel is really worth it's money. Absolutely new rooms with a huge king size bed, bathroom with 2 showers. The food is delightful! We have visited all restaurants and were not disappointed at all! The beach is super clean, beach beds are always available and the sea is great. Even if you arrived earlier before the check in or leave late after check out you still get your bracelet and can use any facilities and restaurants, just without your room.

Firstly the quality of drinks. All bars and waiters do cocktails and drinks in different ways, never use measure cups so if you don't tell them how exactly to do your favorite drink prepare to be disappointed. Clean beach towels are quite often not available, so you have to keep the one you already have for several days. Moreover you can only get them at the beach, which is not convenient if you want to go to the pool (quite far from the beach). The hotel has started to do some renovation and building and it is noise if you live next to the reception building. Always need to do reservation for dinner in all restaurants a-la-cart, over wise you have to go to the buffet of the other Catalonia hotel

The Food

They really take good care of the guests. It’s clean, comfortable and the staff is extra polite. I also liked the variety of food, drinks and restaurants.

We had a fantastic experience at the Royal La Romana hotel and we cannot fault our stay really. The duplex room was huge, full of amenities and details and super comfortable, which made our stay really enjoyable. The staff at the hotel is very kind and attentive. We found mixed reviews about the food in other comments at the time of booking but we cannot complain; we tried almost every option at lunch and dinner from the adults only area and they mostly exceeded our expectations.

I agree with the policy around towels from the hotel to make the place more sustainable but it would certainly help having more towel hangers in different parts of the room so that they can dry and people are not "forced" to change them more frequently. The room was massive and there wasn't a single towel rail or hanger that we could use for that purpose.

Really the best wide beach with palm trees and great relax zone there. Nice sunbeds (enough pcs for everyone) Food (especially a la carte ) was delicious. Nice gardens / entertaiment program and music all around the place. Amazing coffe quality, modern rooms

Staff. Literally some of the hotel staff was ignoring us, because we were not the spanish speakers. Good example was the lady in the crepes bar on the beach or main buffet (luckily, one of the entertainment team member help out)

Humidity smell in the room

The beach is gorgeous and there are plenty of stretcher chairs available. The swim-up feature in the room is nice, although I would prefer if the pool was connected to the main pool. The room was clean and spacious. The pool at the family side of the complex is really nice.

Our room (132) had a very strong smell of mold and you could see the door rotted at the bottom, probably from all the humidity. I wished the maintenance was better on that part. The bed was not very comfortable, with a very flat pillow (one pillow per person only). The food was average. Some restaurants had decent food, but some were terrible. The Terrace restaurant served us cold French fries and a deep fried chicken so overly fried that there was no meat left. The worst part to me, though, was the lack of good evening entertainment. Most nights they had people singing very calm romantic songs, or violins. One night they sang "unchained melody" from the movie ghost, I couldn't believe it. When I go to the Caribbean I expect happy Caribbeans tunes, or pool parties, beach parties, anything happy. The harassing for upselling is also real and not fun. They would stop us a few times a day, during our relaxing vacation time, to try and sell their exclusive package, they even called us in our room to offer the service. The pools at the adults only side of the resort are too hidden in the middle of the buildings, you can hardly say if you are at the beach or at a hotel in Manhattan. The pool at the family side is ocean front and is very nice.

The hotel was perfect. For an all-inclusive hotel, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food.

Facilities were absolute wonderful. Pool, room(includes the best couple shower ever!), restraunts, bars all look and operate to the best! Everyone were so kind and nice for us. Room with pool access - absolutly worth it.

While our stay the was two long electricities run out. No injories and everything was safe but it has a bitter taste on the experience. Looks like something that is not commonly there..

the facilities are great- fun pools, fun pool bar, beautiful beach, nice big rooms. breakfast is dissent. the dinner at the french restaurant was good. prices at stores on grounds were fair

the bed was not comfortable, the cleaning was so-so, the food at the dinner some of the restaurants was not very tasty, and there are a lot of flies at the restaurants..

paying a lot to get almost nothing back. tried scheduling scuba before going to the hotel, fully booked, tried booking sailing while at the hotel, fully booked for the next 5 days so not doing that too. tried eating breakfast at one of the restaurants by the beach, took 50mins to “make” eggs that never arrived, gave up, went all the way back to the breakfast buffet. The adults only part of the hotel is quite far from the beach also. There are quite some lines at the bars and they run out of cups.. Restaurants don’t open on time and sometimes are closed for special events. There is also this “Exclusive travelers club” thing where most of the best spots of the hotel are reserved for people from the club which if you want to join you have to see a 1hr presentation and pay 675$ according to another reviewer. So you are paying quite an hefty price to not be able to enjoy the hotel. Restaurants are also quite bad, most of them are on a 3 dish menu and there are always dishes should out. the only thing we’ve been able to do was a massage in the spa as it was extra.
