Lake view

More expensive rooms with lake views were small and very loud due to the direct exposure to the road. We found cockroaches in the room. Bed was old, used nad uncomfortable. Breakfast was very basic and everyday the same. Dining room was dirty and smelled like an old basement. The Staff was unfriendly. Another disappointment was access to the lake. To get there you have to cross the busy road. Place not worth staying in.

Here again for 1 night. Room with balcony and lake view, awsome.

The same as before - beds are not comfortable, cushion quite hard, matraces a pain for the back.

Obviously we loved the view, private swimming place was nice, lake itself was super, water clean and rather warm, deep of course. We had private bathroom, everything was clean and ok. As temperatures outside were above 30 degrees during day I was afraid it's getting impossible to sleep, but house didn't get that warm and if you remove blanket inside duvet cover, it is ok. It might get noisy early in the morning because of the road, but after closing windows it let us continue our sleep. Restaurant was really nice, service was super, food&drinks excellent. Parking was free and in front of the house. Oh, by the way, it was surprise for us the place is in Switzerland, not in Italy :) Italy is just around the corner. PS. You can meet some friendly guests over there ;)

A great hotel with great views from the room. Very comfortable bed and huge breakfast. I really enjoyed staying there: it was quiet at night and waking up to water views was magic.

No internet in the room (on the 2nd floor).

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I felt it was exactly as described. Old world charm in a stunning location.

Just the weather but nothing you could do there

The location is super - our room had lake view. Must be stunning on a sunny day. It rained when we were there. Breakfast was very good and quite diverse - however there was just on thing of each (one slice of ham, cheese..) so I believe a man would have left the table hungry. It was plenty for me. The hotel lady was very nice and helpful.

Hotel seems steeped in the 70-80th. All the decor is old fashioned. The room is basic - no coffee making facilities, fridge. The mattess was bad and so was the pillow. As you go out, there was a terrace - full of water as it was raining - there was no drainage. Altogether I found the price very high compared with what was on offer. Basically you pay for the view.

The view of the lake

Beautiful view of the lake both during the day and night from our window and from the dining area next to the lake. Some menu choices were a little pricey, but it was Switzerland and the food was great. The room was quiet, especially with the windows shut, there was very little noise from the road outside. Sharing a bathroom was OK too. The staff were friendly and very attentive. There was an unusual way of opening a champagne bottle with a cutless.

The bed was slightly soft. Otherwise fine.

The location was great as we was hiking Monte san Giorgio. The breakfast choice was also very nice.

our room was VERY basic, and I don’t think they should be allowed to advertise the room as have a ‘mountain view’ ,there is no view. it is literally of a bush on a rock face, there was so little natural light in the room due to this as well, it made it feel very dark and dingy.
