We loved everything about this hotel. Very central so no need for taxis to go into town, just a couple of minutes stroll. The staff were all exceptional, they went out of their way to chat to us, we even charged our electric bikes in their garage overnight so we could carry on biking the next day. So helpful in every way they could. Our room was lush, so spacious and comfy. We loved our breakfasts, lots of choices and great quality sausages and bacon. Can`t wait to go back. We also ate one night at The Bank restaurant in town which is part of the Brend group, same group as The Imperial Hotel. Brend have 4 hotels in Barnstable and you can use the facilities in each whichever one you stay in. Unusual for a Cornish person to give praise to people in Devon but they definitely deserve it!

Traditional hotel with modern facilities in a good location with car parking. Friendly staff and excellent restaurant.
Shower curtain on bath. Just don’t like them.

Our second stay at this property. Reception staff are exceptionally helpful, discreet and professional. Great accommodation, facilities and location. We will certainly return.

Great location, exceptionally clean, lovely staff.
Our room had a little step up to the bathroom. Sign warning us about the step but we still kept tripping on it.

Superb hotel, Arrived and a member of staff appeared in the car park to guide us to our parking space as we had told the hotel we were in a van and we were given 2 spaces which had been saved for us.

Breakfast choice was exceptional. Dinner menus provided plenty of choice. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with 2 armchairs! The staff were friendly and helpful.

We really liked the inside of the hotel and classic decor. The waiting staff were lovely. Lovely touch with fruit, Thorntons chocolate and mini bar with water, soft drinks and a little bottle of Prosecco! Great location.
The cold tap running really hot before running cold and the join of two beds joined together.

We found the whole experience enjoyable, our daughter has just moved to the area so we will definitely be making return booking to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was excellent, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a few drinks in the bar in the evening, again the staff and service was faultless. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

Everything was perfect, especially the meals and the staff. We loved the elegance, like stepping back in time.
The location was ideal. We were walking the coastal path and caught buses every day from the nearby station.
Lovely to relax in the evenings after our walks. Would recommend this hotel to everyone

Cost of glass of Prosecco at the bar was rather expensive in comparison to the other drinks bought.
