We enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. It is located at the most visited spot in this lovely town and it is fun to see all the visitors enjoying the green area around the river, with kids and dogs splashing in the cold river. Staff were very helpful in storing our bicycles in a safe shed. Our room was upstairs in an annex and, reflecting the very old nature of the old building, we had to duck to pass through the doorway. Our room was small, with twin beds set against the walls and a narrow space to reach the bathroom. There was a desk and a table, so it was comfortable enough. Breakfast was average, although service was a bit slow on our second day, with orders mixed up.

If you like historic inns, nothing could be better.

Well positioned great outlook, Food very good. Some staff very helpful, while others didn’t seem to know what they were doing.

Building looked very tired in need of a good clean! Creaking floor boards upstairs and on stairs, carpets dirty. Car park to small.

The room didn’t have a wardrobe to store our clothes. Wifi connection was really poor. In the shower, the temperature of the water was not uniform so be prepared to some extra cold moments.

Location excellent. Staff very helpful. Beer excellent.

Room very small and a bit dated. Only one person had view of the TV. Bathroom door hit the bed.
