Beautiful Log Home on Quiet Private Lake
Il Cottage è un personalizzato costruito Log Home progettato per tutta la famiglia. Si trova su un lago privato 350 km nord-est di Toronto. Svassi e castori vi accoglierà come si sta seduti sul molo al mattino! Se siete alla ricerca di una vacanza tranquilla e pacifica .... questo cottage è per voi! Questo è il mio affitto Anno 4 ° e hanno veramente apprezzato la condivisione della casa con tutti.
Se ti piace per sedersi e rilassarsi, canoa, pesca o semplicemente stendere sul molo, si può fare tutto al cottage. I cieli notturni sono particolarmente buio e osservare le stelle è una cosa che preferisco fare! The Cottage può ospitare fino a 6 persone con spazio sui divani per altri 2!

Very relaxing time with family in quiet and peaceful cottage. Nice fishing.
Gary made us feel very welcome. Really enjoyed the stargazing and the views of the meteor shower

The surroundings were not inspiring
The river was muddy
The place needed some serious maintenance and was very dirty, particularly the bathroom, with black mould and rust in the bath, with some pliers instead of a knob for the faucet
The outdoor furniture was dirty
The balcony was not inviting, very dirty and dusty
The fridge and the microwave were not recently cleaned
The kitchen sink was not scrubbed
The dishes drying rack had some black mould
The sofas were smelly, I had to wash the covers myself, and still the smell was present.
We left after 2 nights.
The only redeeming thing was the host showing us his incredible telescopes and the guided tour to the dark sky reserve observatory. That was really good.

We had a fantastic weekend with perfect weather. We enjoyed canoeing and playing in the warm lake. At night, we had a lovely evening in front of a campfire, relishing the peace and quiet away from the city noise. Gary warmly welcomed us and provided all the necessary information about the cottage. The best part was that our furry friends were also welcome, which we truly appreciated. Thanks for the wonderful getaway!

My husband and I have always canoe tripped in Algonquin or Killarney in the summer. This year we decided to rent a cabin instead. It was wonderful. There were all the comforts of home plus loons, forest and a lovely quiet lake to paddle. We enjoyed having our standard poodle join in the adventure. Gary was a fabulous host sharing his passion and enthusiasm for astronomy with us. We would happily recommend this location to anyone looking for a quiet cabin getaway.

The cottage was perfect for us. Full of character, lovely location, a great place for us to sit out on the swing-seat and take in the quiet, the lake, colours, chipmunks and birdlife. Gary was a very helpful host, inviting us to a telescope star-gazing evening, which was a high point of our stay. Highly recommended.

Gary is very friendly and met us there to give us a run down of what we needed to know. The property was very well kept. It is a beautiful open concept log cabin with a beautiful outdoor firepit/ eating area. A nice set of carriage lights led down the path to the dock. The lake was a little shallow with a muddy bottom but still fantastic for swimming. The electric fireplace heats up the cabin very quickly. There are very friendly birds and chipmunks that eat seeds while you're there. Overall very quiet and cozy experience.

Log cabin was exactly as described. Beautiful inside and out. Lots of peace and quiet. Dogs were free to roam and swim. Fishing was great. Gary was very attentive and easy going. Will definitely consider going back!

Peace & Quiet was what i wanted for this year's birthday trip. And that's what I got here at the cabin house even thought it was labor day long weekend. We had a comfortable stay with a scenic view. Gary is a great host and shared his passion with us - stars and sky. Going to dark sky preserve and seeing saturn with ring and it's moon along with earth's moon was a truly memorable experience. Things i loved at this stay - peace &quiet, privacy,cozey & comfy fully functional house with amenities, being pet friendly and waterfront site. One of my favorite stays so far and 100% recommend!

We had a great time at Gary's cottage. It was clean, private and right on the lake. Gary was an excellent host and he even invited us to look at the stars from his observatory. We learned alot about stars and galaxies that night. Thank you Gary, it was pleasure meeting you and we hope to return one day!

Gary is an excellent host! The lake is very quiet and peaceful! Loved watching the meteor shower on the dock in our hammock 🙂 I have never seen so many stars, it was beautiful!!! And if you want to take star watching to a whole different level, hopefully you’re lucky enough that Gary will invite you to his observatory

We spent a week at Gary's cottage, and it was AMAZING! The cottage is beautiful, large, and very clean! Lots of space for sleeping, cooking, eating! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you'd need to cook up a great meal.
The outside is the breath taker though - wow, just wow. The hubby and I enjoyed sitting on the porch swing in the mornings, down at the dock through the day, and out by the fire in the evening. We had 4 teenagers with us, and they very much enjoyed going out on the canoes provided and chilling on the dock.
Gary was an exceptional host! He took us out to the dark sky preserve. We got to see some very cool equipment and got to see the moon up close. If you have the opportunity to see this, I would 100% recommend! Gary is the dark sky wizard :). He even offered to take us out on his pontoon boat for a tour of the lake.

If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful and relaxing place to stay, this is it! The cottage offers all the modern conveniences of home. We enjoyed every morning on the porch swing watching the birds and feeding the chipmunks and squirrels. We spent our days canoeing and floating in the quiet lake and were blessed to see and hear loons. The stars at night were phenomenal! Gary took us to the local observatories where we enjoyed both night and day star gazing. Gary could not have been a more perfect host - he was immediately responsive when we had any questions and provided us privacy for the week. Gary went over and above with his introduction to the place, the area and other features and attractions. We will absolutely stay here again!

A nice serene drive on Farm Lake Trail takes you to a beautiful authentic Log house. House comes equipped with everything you need. A modest dock was enough for 4 friends to get some sun, have a few brewskies and enjoy the scenic lake. A little bit of fishing and some canoeing really hit the spot. There’s a nice fire pit too but unfortunately a fire ban in the area at the time did not let us make use of it. Would rent it again.

This cottage is just right. Everything you need for a perfectly relaxing vacation. Although the weather didn’t exactly cooperate with our plans we had an extremely relaxing 5 days. Gary is an extremely attentive host, offered both a boat ride tour of the lake and to share his passion for star gazing. This cottage has everything you need for a quiet getaway. The cottage is fully equipped in the kitchen with all the comforts of home.
We absolutely recommend for a quiet getaway, to do some fishing, napping and family bonding.

The cottage and surrounding area were great to explore. Very easy to find and very cozy. Our host Gary was wonderful, very communicative and even offered us a tour of his observatory as well as a pontoon boat ride! Our pup loved him too :)
Would stay again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

Lovely stay! We spent 2 nights at Gary's beautiful log cabin with our boys. It was relaxing and just what we needed. House was very spacious & well equipped, gas fireplace kept us warm in the cold nights, and the natural surroundings was therapeutic. Gary was super friendly and prompt, can't wait to come back.

Gary is awesome. If you have a chance (and clear skies) to take him up on his offer to show you the stars over the dark sky preserve - go!
The cottage is as advertised. We didn’t have great weather, but this is a place to disconnect and unwind. The dock is great for sitting out on and also good for launching kayaks. The kitchen is well equipped, the drinking water is excellent and the beds are comfy.

We had a nice relaxing week here. It's a bit to get to the closest hiking trails (20-30 min+) but there are a number around. The lake was quiet, and we had a nice breeze despite the tree cover all around the cabin. Gary responded quickly and was happy to show us his astronomy setup, and the nearby dark sky preserve. The clouds didn't always cooperate, but that's life. The local plevna grocery isn't that well stocked, so if you are planning to get groceries up here, drive to sharbot lake or northbrook, much better selection (~30 minutes).

We had an absolutely great stay. It was private, secluded, quiet and peaceful. The stars were magical and our kids and dogs loved swimming and exploring. We weren't there long but it was enough time to unwind and be at peace.

Beautiful lakeside log cottage, nestled into the trees so keeps cool on the hot summer days. Well stocked kitchen with all the basics, ceramic flat top stove, large fridge with excellent large freezer. Host Gary is close by, very available and very helpful. Good walking trails around the cottage, we stayed close to home with our older dog, but lots of good day trips with easy access.
We had a quiet and restful week, just what the doctor ordered!

A break from the city in a lovely peaceful location. Beds were comfy. Kitch was great. New TV. Confy living room and chairs at the firepit. Loved the hamocks and the canoe. Laid back break.

We had a short stay but felt we got alot out of it! Gary is a very warm and gracious host. His cottage is a beautiful wood cabin with amazing detailing. The property has a great dock, sitting, lounging and firepit. Gary has set up a personal and public observatory and we were lucky enough to see a public star gazing event the night we arrived. Swimming is more condusive in a near by beach called "Sand Beach" . There is also some hiking at Palmerson Canonto Conservation. Gary also took us out on the water. If you are looking for a unique experiene away this is it!

I truly enjoyed my 2-week stay at Gary's log cabin. It is a very spacious lake front cottage with all the amenities - I specially appreciated the wifi + washing machine/dryer because of the length of my stay. The cabin stays cool at all times because it is surrounded by trees. We slept well despite the heat. The dock, on the other hand, gets full daytime sun, great for your morning coffee. Gary is close by which is most convenient and he is so generous of his time. I hosted different groups of friends during my stay and Gary generously shared his knowledge of astronomy and showed us the dark sky preserve's huge telescope! This is a great rental property for a quiet holiday, exactly what I was looking for.

Our stay at the cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Tucked away, right on the water with everything we needed. It was a cool log cabin itself, with tons of neat outer space decor. Gary was a pleasure to get to know and he made everything super easy for check in/out. The only problem we had, was not having more time to spend there. We will definitely come again and stay at Gary's cottage again...I want to see the observatory!

Gary is a great host. This place was just what we were looking for. Love the cottage. Everything you would need and more is provided. The lake is very private and quiet. We spent alot of time canoeing and fishing. Gary was so nice to take us to the dark sky preserve and show us the telescope and teach us some amazing things about the solar system. Definitely recommend this place.
