The view from the guesthouse is incredible. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, it really made our stay in Ella extra special.

Amazing rooftop with hammocks and canvas chairs to enjoy the zion view. Wonderful very clean rooms with comfortable beds (all with mosquito nets, also the third person bed), nice furniture and good decorations. Wonderful service with many helpful recommendations by host. Very quiet but not far from the town center.

Steep but short walk up the hill from the town’s main road.

Exceptional view from the rooftop. The location is close to the town center (3 min walk from main street). Nice garden in the property.

Staff lose interest to the customers when they depart. They help you with suitcases when you arrive, while looking at you without interest when you down suitcases one by one on the stairway when you depart. (You may not expect such service from the guesthouse, but i always had different experiences in Sri Lanka regardless of property price). The breakfast menu is confusing, if you ordered omelet/eggs the cheese sandwich will be for an additional price, however listed together as separate dishes. Then you have to pay the eggs for the additional price to the breakfast menu. Somebody may consider that these are trifles, about 1-2 dollars, but for us it is an indicator of hospitality. We would rather increase the price but have an extended menu.

Especially the location. It was locaed at the center of the town and walking distance to all classy restaurants and all the attractions. And the view at Breakfast terrace and the rooftop was breathtaking. That is one of the best views we had ever seen. The breakfast was simple but with a great taste. Especially they made delicious french toast for my kids and they loved it. Special thanks for the host, Ms. Wasula, she was so friendly and helpful and guide us to reach all the attractions. Overall we had wonderful, calm stay at Ella. All the best..!!

Nothing. But if they can add a TV to the room, it will be a perfect stay, specially when we stay with kids.

- Excellent location close by to cafe's and few shops. - The view from the guesthouse is amazing. Comfortable outdoor seating area on the terrace of the guesthouse. - The host are friendly and supportive - Food is excellent.

Rooms were clean and had more than enough space to move around in. Best thing about the place is the people, everyone was really friendly and kind, giving helpful information on how to travel and what are the best places to have your meals.

Not much to say here, only issue I ran into was the shower wasn't working properly so, we had to use one room out of the 2 we got to have a shower.

Lovely place in the hills, but still very close to the city centre. Very nice hosts! No problem for us to park our tuktuk inside the gates. Lovely breakfast and great views!

was right in the middle of town, pretty good location and lovely people. they kindly let us upgrade rooms to a better view. would stay again.

wish we had more choice when it came to breakfast. Also had an infestation with various bugs & the netting around the bed had holes in it, so defeated the purpose of being protected by them.

I spend two nights at Hilltop Guest House and felt more than welcome! The hosts were amazing, gave me a lot of information about the area and the breakfast view is insane. I also enjoyed the breakfast itself a lot (you get a choice of three different things and I had the fruit pancake twice). It’s close to all the restaurants (Raha was my favourite for local food) and calm at night. I would come back!!!

You really need to like the nature if you stay here. My room was downstairs and you couldn’t close the windows properly, so I had to deal with a few insects. The bathroom could need a fresh up.

The location is very central, the manager/owner is super nice and the breakfast with the view was exceptional! Recommend staying here!

Friendly service, comfortable rooms and perfect food which are worth of money.

Beautiful structure with a panoramic terrace complete with positions with hammock and deck chairs. Comfortable bed with mosquito net, spacious bathroom with large shower and hot water. Hearty breakfast with quality home cooked food. They accommodated our every request. Friendly and helpful staff, they gave us useful advice on the attractions to visit in ella. we will be back on the next visit to ella. Recommended.
