I had a wonderful stay at Casa de Mármol in Riobamba, Ecuador. The host, Irma, was extremely helpful and provided great tips and practical assistance. The breakfast was delicious and the accommodations were comfortable. The hostel's location was convenient for exploring the city. I highly recommend Casa de Mármol for a pleasant stay in Riobamba.

We arrived late and I was very stick, but Irma took,so much care of me helping with medicine and recovery food. You will feel à very warm vibe from the all marmol family!

The owners are fantastic, they speak English and are really helpful and friendly. Location is good and the room was comfortable, clean and spacious. We slept well and enjoyed relaxing in the guest social area, a large room with comfy leather sofas and a fireplace. Great atmosphere, secure premises and gated parking opposite property, perfect security for motorbikes. There is even a view of Chimborazo from the roof terrace. Different types of rooms available to suit all types of travellers. Breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay again.

Great staff you feel like home.

Irma is a very good hostess. One feels immediately like at home. There is hot water, very good and sufficient breakfast with good coffee from Ecuador. Irma also recommended us a very cheap and good laundry near her place. She also organized an excellent day tour for us up 5,100 meters in elevation in Chimborazo National Park. A Taxi from the bus terminal to the accommodation cost $2. We enjoyed the stay very much and would book there again anytime.

Irma and her family make you feel like home. Great location to everything. There is a big sitting area with couches and tables to lounge around in.

What a fabulous stay we had. The bedding is simply AMAZING - they have the most comfortable sheets we have ever had (kind of a soft fleece - never seen this before in a hotel). This night was the least expensive of our trip in Ecuador and the one that allowed us to sleep the best. Also the view from the rooftop is amazing. And of course the hosts are amazingly welcoming - we had such a warm welcome when we arrived by Irma and Diego. Irma is a fabulous host making you at ease from the first minute. The breakfast was very good and they gave us a lot of useful infos regarding the rest of our trip as well. We would definitely come back to this hotel. Irma is very nice and helpful. Bed was super comfy. Rooftop where you can see part of Chimborazo, behind some building, on a clear day. Fresh breakfast, fruits salad, omelet, Amazonian coffee, tea. Supermarket and food stalls 5min walk, city centre less than 15.

Very nice room, incredibly comfortable bed, Irma was very friendly and helpful, and arranged an amazing chimborazo hike for me.

It is quite difficult to choose, but I'll say that the friendliness and willingness to help have been the #1things that made our stay extremely welcoming and pleasant. If people visit "Casa de Marmol", they won't regret it. Irma, its hostess, has excellent suggestions for every single one of their guests. The fact that she takes her time to listen and understand what you want, gives her the ability to personalize her help, something that you don't see very often. Another important thing is that other small businesses are being benefited thanks to the small-business network that people from Casa de Marmol have created. From reliable taxi drivers, restaurants, bakeries to tour guides, and a place to park if needed . Their facilities are extremely clean and their rooms quite cozy <3. PS. You have to try their breakfast, especially the frute with Greek yogurt!!

Water pressure was a bit low I know there was this was bad intentions from them but they were a little bit pushy on recommendations. I know they want to help and take care of their guests, but it was also to serve their friends’ businesses like their neighbors being taxi drivers or the restaurant they recommended. I can’t blame them for this but I personally need “my own space” when I travel. And do not want to feel “trapped” because really, it’s hard to say no to their recommandations. Like telling me it’s not safe to walk at night so I could ask for taxi service from their neighbors…well, it is very safe and very short walk from the center of Riobamba. No taxi needed unless you don’t want to walk. Also their neighbors charge more than the other taxis I took in the city… Once again, nothing wrong with recommendations, and I guess some people like being recommended 100% of what they do but not everyone. Anyway, everything else was perfect and I enjoyed my stay and fully recommend :)
