The chateau was beautiful from start to finish. The chateau itself is so full of history yet very comfortable. We stayed an extra night so we could explore the area more and had a gorgeous dinner platter at the restaurant on the property. The hosts Edward and Catherine were very lovely and provided a fabulous breakfast each morning. The garden view room was perfect for our family, with the children in their own room and we were separated by a litle tv room with an ensuite off our room.
The chateau is in close primity to valon point d'arc and many grottos. We went swimming in the river and visited chauvet caves.
We were sad to leave and would love to go back some day.

We just loved the chateau, the park and our hosts! Eduardo and his wife share the distinguished history of their family, the castle and gave us a memorable tour. It‘s such a unique and charming place and they are the most welcoming hosts we ever experienced. Their breakfast was home made and delish! We miss them and will try to be back soon. 😍
All was perfect and maintained with such passion and commitment to maintain the beauty of the place.

Wow! 14 day cycle tour through France, all of it excellent but our stay at Chateau de Bournet was a real highlight. You could not possibly wish for more welcoming and caring hosts. They offered to book a local restaurant for us for dinner, when that was closed they insisted on cooking dinner for us and it was exquisite, including many fresh vegetables and salad from their garden. I believe Catherine was a chef and it showed - a truly delicious meal put together at short notice. Breakfast again was a great start to our day. Bikes were very secure in the conservatory. Edouard was wonderful, gave us a guided tour of this beautiful living history chateau. A true gentleman, clearly having led a distinguished life but easily able to converse with people on any level. Class. Wish we could have stayed longer, very much enjoyed the short time with our hosts.

Although the beds were comfortable enough, the mattress was a bit too firm for me (although my partner didn't have any problems)

we loved the vibe of the castle and the nice environment. We got a tour of the castle and heard about the interesting history, which was great. The hosts were really kind, and breakfast was superb. We would definitely come here again :)

The hosts were charming and very engaging and were always on hand if needed, they even gave us a short tour of some of the building. Our room was immense with a very high ceiling, with a large comfortable bed and a modern bathroom in the adjoining tower.
The mosquitoes, but the owners had plenty of advice.

Breakfast fantastic prepared by owner. Good eggs, bacon, homemade bread. Personal tour and history of property and people. Great personal castle and chapel experience. Quiet. Good wifi. Host Eduardo is outstanding host.

A real chateau with charming and friendly owners taking care of their home and their guests. One feels very welcome and the location is magnificent. Next time for sure I will try their golf course. Impressive history which the owner can tell you the full historical story. Impressive. To repeat!

Accommodation par excellence - the atmosphere, the owners (!), the environment, rich american breakfast. We liked the option to have the opportunity to play golf on the château-owned executive golf course (9 holes). Also, it was always very inspiring to talk to the owners, to learn more about the history and habits in this area. The Château is perfectly located to almost all famous and "must-need-to-be-visited" locations in the Ardeche. On the check-in day, we arrived late - not a problem for the owners to organize a candle light dinner with local wine at short notice - a very impressive flexibility and hospitality. Thank You very much!

Nothing to add , our stay was perfect . Rooms , with such decoration and furniture ! We also had a private tour of the castle, made by the owner . He spent time to explain and share the history of his family .

Absolument parfait! Chateau is amazing - like from a fairy tale, easy access and parking for a car. The owner is so kind, speaks French and perfect English and he tells you about the history of the place, shows you around. Rooms are comfy, pretty and clean, bathrooms are new and renovated. Breakfast is delicious and consists of local food (cheese is amazing!). Chateau is surrounded by greenery and little lake and is absolutely the best place we ever stayed in. Highly recommended! :)
