The villa itslef is impressive and you have to go up extrnal set of stairs to reach the entrance. The room was very large and had a huge bathroom!. The manager/owner was very nice and hospitable. We could not ask for more.

A great place to stay for a peaceful night's sleep before taking the ferry to Sicily. Very comfortable bed and great shower, lots of little extras in the fine bedroom to make it special. Excellent breakfast, catering to north European tastes on request. Super coffee. Host Francesca is very kind and friendly and offered to collect us from the station; however the Villa is only a 15 minute stroll. Architecturally impressive villa with great views across to Sicily from the garden. Very highly recommended.

We recently had a very disappointing stay at the villa. Upon booking, we were promised a spacious room of 35 square meters, but what we got was a significantly smaller room of 18 square meters. The pictures online were completely misleading, which further added to our disappointment. We were shown photographs of a grand room with an en-suite bathroom, however, we were assigned a smaller room with a detached toilet in the corridor. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the hostess and she proposed an upgrade to a luxury suite for an additional cost. We were also asked to cancel our booking on booking.com to avoid commission and pay her directly, which was an alarming red flag. The requested amount was considerably more than what we originally paid for the standard room. The next morning, when we expressed our displeasure, she must have sensed that we might leave a negative review. As a result, she falsely reported to booking.com that we did not show up for our stay, presumably to prevent us from reviewing our experience. This level of unprofessionalism was highly upsetting and added to our overall negative experience. Such practices not only show a lack of respect towards guests but also question the credibility of the villa and its management. We feel it is important to share this experience to warn potential guests of these unacceptable and misleading practices. We left feeling very disappointed and let down by what was supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Clean, modern with an authentic Italian ambiance . Site is well lit and quiet. Breakfast was delicious and the owner was incredibly hospitable.

This is a beautiful old villa, big staircase up to the door which is illuminated at night, Parquet floors and ornate decor and beautiful modern bathroom, lots of marble. Nice view of Messina strait. Very kind, helpful host (Francesca), good Italian breakfast served in a comfortable dining room, you can sit outside too. You can walk to a local Pizzeria (Galle D'oro). Basic decor but very good food (cooked fresh). Francesca helped us book the ferry and saved us money. It was like stepping back in time, gentile, old fashioned good service.

Francesca, she is so helpful and can not do enough for you. Mum came to visit me as I live in Italy, and I got invited to Breakfast even though I wasn't a customer of the hotel. Absolutely incredible.

Francesca was an exceptional host. In typical Italian fashion, she greeted warmly and made me feel welcomed and like family. The hotel was immaculate and well maintained. My room had a view of the water and the commune of Messina across the bay. Thank you Francesca for everything. I hope that you have a beautiful Christmas 🎄

Beautiful villa and gracious host, Francesca. The breakfast was wonderful with homemade croissants. The bed was very comfortable and the night quiet in the location above the city. Supremely clean. We recommend.

Such a wonderful overnight stay after a long day travelling. I was greeted with kindness and the place was so wonderfully clean. Was even dropped off at the train station the next morning before making my way to my next destination. Thank you so much for having me. Kindest Julian.

Francesca has a beautiful B&B and is a wonderful host. she was kind enough to pick us up at the train and drop us off at the ferry the next day. She was always helpful and stayed in touch prior our stay. The view from the room is amazing! the rooms are very clean and comfortable. it’s a short walk into town if you would like to go out to eat.

Would have preferred less stairs since access to both the main entrance and to the rooms are via stairs. Otherwise the stay was pleasant and satisfactory.

Just 5 minutes from the ferry to Sicily. Fantastic home made brakefast served on the terrace with a nice view over the Strait of Massina. Nice garden, safe parking and Francesca was a very helpfull og friendly host.
