We had a terrific week in the house. Plenty of room for sleeping eating, lounging and playing. The separate apartment was very useful for my daughter and her family, as she could have both communal time with the rest of us as well as a separate space for naps etc..
The from yard and backside run down to the water were well used for various games, flower picking and chasing games. We found the house well equipped for our needs and Art was a delight to communicate with: generous and responsive.

My siblings and I had a wonderful week here! There was lots of room to congregate, eat, visit, and enjoy the gorgeous view and cool weather. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and family meals. The owner was very helpful and gracious. I would highly recommend this property and intend to keep it on file for future trips to Maine.

We had a family reunion with six people staying, and up to seven visiting at one time. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet, the kitchen roomy, well-equipped, and comfortable for hanging out. There are great spaces for spending time together, as well as for ample privacy. We spent a lot of time on the big screened in porch looking down towards the water, spotting deer and wild turkeys, and had lots of room for company there. For my mother’s 87th birthday, we grilled some amazing steaks from Kennebec Meat in Bath. We appreciated having the apartment as a bit of a retreat and workspace, and just walking down the road was glorious. A quiet week, since one aunt got sick, but some of us still enjoyed nearby beaches, shopping and museums.

We were near all the activities we had planned. Whale watching, Acadia Park, Booth Bay and a family wedding near Lewiston. The grocery store, Shaw, was wonderful. We got sandwiches from Sisters in Bath I highly recommend. Can’t say enough good things about the property also. Our family had more than enough room. So nice and comfortable. I was able to communicate with the owner easily. He was very responsive

Our multigenerational group had a great time at this house. There was ample space to spread out and the side apartment was perfect for tired parents and babies. Woolwich is ideally located for trips to Popham Beach and Reid State park. The only hiccup was that a crib was listed in one of the bedrooms and there wasn’t one. All in all a super place to stay

This was our second stay at this Woolwich find. Art is incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with. The property is exactly as described and perfect for folks who need a lot of space but not fans of stairs. The location is fantastic for day trips within 35 minutes in all directions. So much more to explore next year!

Return visit
This was our second visit to this property. Among reasons for returning: great screened in porch, ability to launch kayaks from the property, large kitchen, flexibility provided by in-law apartment. We stayed longer this time and enjoyed exploring nearby Bath - great farmers market on Saturdays!

Spacious home with great screened-in porch and water view
Our family of six adults and one 8-year old child had great 3 ½ day stay at this large home that overlooks a tidal river and has a spacious screened in porch with a great view. From the comfort of our mosquito-free porch, we were able to watch a July 4th fireworks display on the river put on by one of the locals. The kitchen table easily accommodates 8 people and the porch accommodates even more - though without a dining table. The separate attached apartment was perfect for the couple that dislikes dogs, since our young Labrador was in the main house. The road that runs by the house is great for walking since there is not a lot of traffic and the cars that traverse it drive slowly. Plus it is shaded by trees. Our host Art, was very accommodating, replying promptly to any questions or concerns and the cleaning woman who lived close by was also very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay
Plenty of room for our family of 7. The screened in porch was a wonderful place to relax and the kitchen table was large enough for everyone to eat in the same place and play games and also plenty of kitchen supplies for cooking. Lots of interesting places within an hour's drive: Bath, Boothbay, Camden, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, etc.

Great location for large group doing day trips
This home is located in a quiet neighborhood, a great view of the water, and a screened room to relax and enjoy Maine. Only a couple miles from Rt-1 it is convenient hub for day trips like Boothbay, Kennebec rafting and Arcadia, as well as shopping.
The house has comfortable large bedrooms, large family room, and dining table so our group could be together without feeling squeezed in.
Lastly the owner Art is very responsive to any questions and doing whatever he could to ensure that our trip was great - 10 stars!

Great Place! Tremendous Location
Art was super helpful, kind and responsive to any questions. The grill was clean and ready to go when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with just about anything you might need for cooking breakfast lunch and dinner. The house was big and roomy with lots of box fans to cool things down. We absolutely loved the screened in porch. We were out and about doing something different every day as Woolwich is about 30 minutes away from so many things to do! Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, Popham Beach are the first 3 to come to mind. Can’t wait until next year!

The house was clean and spacious. The location was excellent. It was a bit of a hike down to the water but we were able to launch our kayaks and SUPs. Many great restaurants and places to shop within 30 minute drive. Art was very helpful. We had a wonderful week.

We would stay here again and definitely recommend. From the very first inquiry to the last day, Art was wonderful with communication and making sure we were all set and comfortable.

Great Waterfront House for Extended Family/Friends
Very clean and modern waterfront house with attached apartment (extra fee) on a quiet country road was the perfect getaway for two families. We had two families with a total of 4 adults and 5 children. The five of us stayed in the 3 - bedroom main house, and the other family of four slept in the attached 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment has it's own kitchen, sitting area, and laundry. Having two sets of laundry was great with a large group. The main house has more than enough shared space for everyone to spread out. The large, well-stocked kitchen with island easily fit several cooks, and the kitchen table comfortably sat all nine of us by pulling an extra chair in from the screen porch. There are water views from most rooms. The large screen porch was the perfect spot for us to hang out after a long day at the beach. The porch gives a panoramic view of the tidal river over a field and through mature trees. There are exposed mud flats at low tide, but most of the time, the view is filled with water. There is an open path down to the water where my son and I tried fishing for what appeared to be Atlantic Sturgeon frequently jumping right off shore, but had no luck. With most of the windows open, there were nice ocean breezes coming through the house. The quiet country road has very little traffic and was great for morning runs/walks with intermittent views of the water. The house is conveniently located about 12 minutes from the town of Bath with shopping and restaurants. It's about 5 minutes from The Taste of Maine (tourist trap). There are much better, smaller restaurants with excellent seafood in Bath (south) and Wiscasset, about 15 minutes north on Rt 1. We went to Popham Beach most days, which is a beautiful, uncrowded sandy beach with nice waves. Great for boogie boards and body surfing. Popham Beach is a scenic 35 minute drive away. Overall, we loved the house, views, and location. We hope to return next year!

Would stay here again!
Beautiful, peaceful property within close proximity to everything we wanted to do. Traveled with another family and loved the layout which allowed for gathering, but also privacy for each family. Our side (the house) was very clean upon arrival. I only docked on cleanliness because we were told the apartment side did have some dog hair. Not a big deal as we had access to a vacuum. To be fair, we didn’t even bother mentioning this to Art because we were able to take care of it, and we appreciated that the property was dog friendly for our family, too. Art was incredibly hospitable and communicative. We had an amazing stay!

Awesome location great house great host
Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Woolrich. House was great very comfortable,
location is excellent very easy ride to all the towns. Obviously Reds lobster shack down the road a must stop. The butcher shop in Damariscotta does awesome ribs for a take home meal.
Great host very communicative Art gets five stars and then some.
Highly recommend.

Great location with beautiful views
Very nice property in a quiet neighborhood right on the water. Gorgeous watching sunrises and the moon appear over the water. Can kayak right off shore and the paddling was fabulous. It is also centrally located and close to many quaint sites and cities, shopping, pottery, antiques , groceries, etc. and great restaurants. Kitchen had everything you would need. We spent most our time on the porch or out so cannot speak to entertainment system. Never turned tv on. House is not elegant but it is very nice and comfortable and what we like is that it felt like home and the view was extraordinary. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful View
The most important for us was that it is "dog friendly" since we wanted our dog to vacation with us. Beau, our Standard Poodle, loved running around the expansive 4.5 acres on the property and the cool weather.
Maine is the most "dog friendly" of any state, so we were able to take him to most places that we went except the beaches which does not allow dogs until after Labor Day.
All of us enjoyed the screened back porch, especially with our morning coffee as we watched the spectacular sunrise and watching the clammers gather clams at low tide was amazing.

Nice house, beautiful spot, quiet, but still close to town
Our family had a wonderful, restful time at Art's place. We went for a paddle on Back River and did several nice day trips.
We watched the neighborhood fox from the screened in porch and visited the horses and sheep down the road.
The kitchen has the basics, but bring your spices with you or there's a Shaw's 3.5 miles away.
We would definitely stay there again.

It was wonderful! Beautiful views, great house!
We had a wonderful time! Art's home was spacious, clean, and well organized. The grounds, porches, & view were lovely. And my husband had to drive 4 hours back to retrieve my bag, and Art put him up. - let him stay with him for free! How wonderful that was! So generous!
We also loved kayaking, the sunrises, & the stars!

Another great week in Maine
This property is as lovely as it appears in the photos: comfortable, spacious, and relaxing. You get the impression
you are staying at lovely family home on a quiet country road, minimal traffic and with wonderful views of the Back River seen from the living room, back enclosed deck, kitchen and dining room and back lawn. In working with the owner, Art, you feel as if you are conversing with a good friend. The property allows for launch of kayaks and canoes easily with the tides and the area has many islands and inlets to explore. The home's central location is great for easy day excursions to neighboring areas from Bath to Wiscasset to Boothbay and includes many local attractions and options for dining and shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and accommodations. Wonderful!

A lovely house
The house is all on one floor which is great. We rented only the larger part of the house (there are extra rooms you can also add if you need them which we didn't). We had three bedrooms and two bathrooms, there's a very large kitchen, well appointed with new appliances, and a big dining area with a table that seats six easily or eight in a pinch. The house is nicely furnished with good quality furniture and one bathroom is obviously very newly re-done and luxuriously so. The other bathroom is slightly older but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. One bedroom has a ceiling fan. The two smaller bedrooms share the bathroom, with one of the bedrooms having two twin beds, and the other a queen. Both have three windows on two different sides which allow plenty of breeze, and the house has a large and very nice outdoor balcony which is screened in, and opens on to the living room.
Part of our stay was chilly, and the house was perfectly warm without any heat, although it was down in the upper 50s at night. The rest of our stay was fairly warm. Only one day was the house somewhat uncomfortable, when it was 88 degrees that day and rather humid. Most of the time, fans were quite adequate. The house was clean and well-kept as are the grounds (I say grounds since it is a fairly large property). It fronts on to a large inlet and has a lovely view. I will caution you though that it is not on the ocean, so if that is what you are seeking, this is not your house.
My only criticism, and it really is a matter that is up to personal taste, is that I would put an AC in the bedrooms for those nights that are very warm. I don't think the whole house needs it, but room ACs in the bedrooms might be welcome. There is one sash window in each room which could take it and leave two large casement windows for breeze when that is what is wanted. But many would find I'm sure that this was unnecessary. Really there was only one night that was slightly uncomfortable for the first few hours then the temperature went down as it does at night in Maine.
The owner was incredibly solicitous, friendly, and helpful. I cannot state this enough - he is the IDEAL vacation property owner, and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, happy and well ensconced even getting in touch twice while we were there. He even offered us two extra free nights as he had no one else coming for a few days. Our stay was great - I highly recommend it in every way.

A thoroughly enjoyable rental experience!
My wife and two adult children have happily vacationed in this part of Maine for many years. As our family has grown to include two additional spouses and five grandchildren, we needed to find a house to accommodate all of us and be child friendly at the same time. The Baumgartners’ house worked out extremely well. The rooms are spacious including a well equipped kitchen and a screened in porch. The bedrooms are very comfortable and all of the rooms are one level. The additional apartment gave us plenty of room to spread out. The large front and back yards and the fact that the house is located on a very quiet street provide a feeling of privacy as well as a safe place to play and take walks. We enjoy kayaking and the lovely tidal waterfront is very user friendly. Garbage collection is also included which is not the case with many other homes in the area. I didn’t miss not having to drive to the local dump!
The house is an easy drive from Boothbay Harbor, Brunswick and Portland. Reid State Park is beautiful and also nearby. A season pass to the park was provided with the house.
The house is accurately portrayed in the photos and the description on the website. We were not disappointed in any way. Art and Cora are very accommodating and extremely easy to deal with. All in all, this was a most satisfactory rental experience that we would highly recommend.

Great property - fits our needs perfectly
We've rented from Art and Cora for two years now and it has been a great experience both times. The property is in great shape, with everything needed for a relaxed stay. Our daughter and her family stay in the house side while we stay in the apartment - perfect!
