Wonderful hosts in a brilliant location. Loved the book based theme. Library really quirky and interesting. Great recommendations as to what to see and eat. Magnificent breakfast spread - build your own tiramisu one morning!!

We had an amazing time at Casa VerbaVolant. Fausta and Elio are fantastic hosts and have created a beautiful spot in which to appreciate all that the wonderful island of Ortigia has to offer. The apartment itself was stunning with incredible views, you could even see Etna in the distance on some days - and the location is superb, right in the centre of the island. Fausta and Elio have clearly worked incredibly hard and their passion, love of books and good taste shines through. The breakfasts were fabulous and they also made great recommendations for the best places to eat, visit and sample icecream and other local delicacies. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Fabulous location. Large bright well equipped apartment. Access to a laundry which was most welcome. Fausta and Elio were very generous with their time and information about Syracuse and also extras like pasta and oil and small gifts.

The location is amazing, so close to the Piazza Duomo. Ortigia is a very beautiful place. Nice pasticceria right next door. Breakfast was available at the Casa VerbaVolant, but we did not try it. Airconditioning was good, bed was nice and soft, the apartment was very clean and everything was perfect. Hosts were very nice and very helpful.

I cannot even begin to describe how lovely my stay was at Casa Verba Volant! If you are reading this and are visiting Siracusa your accommodations search is over. This has been my favorite stay in Italy as a solo traveler. Fausta and Elio’s attention to detail is evident in all that they do. My apartment (The Remington) was spotless and filled with everything you could need to honestly never need to (or want to) leave. Everything at Casa VerbaVolant is thoughtfully chosen and placed. There was for example! I type writer in my room! The balcony was lovely and the location of Casa VerbaVolant was perfect. If they are offering their breakfast I couldn’t recommend it more… a variety of fresh organic local selections that will leave you full all day. I didn’t want to leave my apartment during my time in Siracusa and it was one of those places that when you leave you’re like “wow that just happened” anyways I could go on but I am going to stop :)

Seriously extremely glad we chose this place. It was clean, pretty and in an amazing location, literally on the cute touristy street in the middle of the island 2 minutes from the main square. The hosts were lovely, so welcoming and they gave us an amazing basket full of local food and coffee. We’re already planning on coming back

The hosts were very friendly they were extremely helpful, loverly couple. The property was in a great location, and we really enjoyed our time in Siracusa. We would highly recommend this property.

Good sound insulation. Really beautiful communal library room. Excellent communications before we arrived. In the heart of Ortigia. Everything we hoped for.

All was very nice. We arrived and we were welcomed by very nice hosts that provided details about Siracusa and the property. We were impacted by the library and collection of typewriters. The apartment was really big and comfortable with a huge bedroom. We were welcomed with a present that was a very nice surprise. The location is probably one of the best in Siracusa. They have a very convenient laundry that we used as well. The library was superb. My parents loved it.

Not much to say. Probably the shower is too small for the size of the apartment, and more plugs can be installed in the secondary room in order of charging the phones easily.

This spacious and airy apartment was on the top floor of a beautiful block on a key street in the old town of Ortigia. It is described as the penthouse apartment and has the long balcony rather than the terrace which is on the same floor. The location couldn’t be bettered. It was wonderful to hear the buzz of the old town from your balcony. We were close to everything..the main square, the sea and all the restaurants and cafes. We received a warm welcome from the hosts. Communication was excellent and they responded instantly to any queries we had. The kitchen was well equipped. the bed had I think a memory foam mattress on it. The bathroom was a good size and the products were good quality. It was a nice touch that the hosts left a welcome pack including olive oil, water and some cacao/chocolate like bars.

Nothing all was very good and would recommend. If you wish to have the apartment with the terrace, make sure you request the Royal apartment.

Absolutely fantastic hosts, Fausta and Elio are an amazing couple, super friendly and helpful in terms of helping us to settle down in their home, and giving us many welcome goodies. We can't thank them enough for your helpfulness and enthusiasm for their country. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to visit Siracusa and looking for a comfortable home, plus the location is super central, footsteps to go anywhere you want in the city. The two hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They started with a 10 minutes introduction to the place and the city and gave us inside tips on restaurants and bars with discounts. So nice. The apartment (Caslon) was spacious and clean. Downstairs there is a little bar/bakery (the best in town) so every morning the bartender would have our expresso/cornetto ready to start the day. perfect. I can highly recommend this place.

The pictures shows a terrasse - but that was only for the penthouse apartment, and not for us. A little misleading.

The place is great, clean and well located

First of all, the incredibly nice owners, Fausta and Emilio. Their incredible care and willingness to help and advise. The accommodation, its location and facilities were also of an excellent standard. If we could, we would give a rating of 12 ;-)

The apartment was clean, well proportioned, and tastefully furnished. We enjoyed the common space filled with books and typewriters which we had fun with, and the terrace gave us some amazing views over the harbour and city. The hosts were helpful and generous, with a thoughtful welcome basket. Overall an amazing stay and would definitely recommend.

I really can't complain. If pressed, a microwave oven would have been nice.

Very informative and helpful hosts. Super welcoming. Lots of tips on places to eat and shop. Spacious, light and well decorated apartment. Nice touch to leave coffee and local chocolate. Well equipped should you need to self cater but too many good places to eat in the vicinity to bother! The hosts own and live in the building and are on hand if you need them. It is Well priced. Highly recommend.

Thought from photos it looked out to the street, so was expecting to watch the local scene, but looks into central light well.

Our suite Remington was really an apartment that you could live in happily for a long stay. Fausta and Elio were proactive in communicating before we arrived and so welcoming once we were there. They had lots of great information about restaurants, places to visit, and transportation. The suite was just beautiful, with everything you need and a wonderful decor reflecting their publishing business. The balcony was lovely with great views. The location was perfect.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the property with superb hosts, Forgusto contacted us through WhatsApp and told us the best way to get there, made arrangements to meet and let us in, show us to our apartment, gave us lots of really useful information and was always on hand if we had a question about the area. The Apartment was massive and lovely and clean, local pasta and chocolate was left for us which was a nice surprise to take home. The typewriter was a great touch with books all over the place when you had time to read. The kids loved the typewriter as not seen one before and loved typing messages to each other. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay so near to the Duomo Plaza and very central for all of Ortiga. There is nothing negative to say as the hosts were brilliant as was our stay. Keep it up!!
