Overlooking the beach, I had assumed the terrace/balcony would be facing the sea but on arrival found out it was at the back of the apartment, no real views at all and was not private to us- it is a communal area, with its own entrance, available to the other apartments- the washing machine was also outside there - just not acceptable. I should have been suspicious as there were no photos of the area.

Excellent location! 10min walk in to city, 5min walk to normal size supermarket. Amazing view from the living room! Just sit with a glas of wine and watch the ferries enter and leave Almeria in the sunset. Juans was very helpful and responded quickly. We will definitely go back! If you was authentic Tapas and great seafood Almeria is the place for you!

Juan's apartment is great for a couple. The location is spot on. It is right next to the beach which is lovely to laze around on. There are a few cafe's along the front but it wasn't too busy and not too noisy either (we travelled in August). A decent supermarket is 10 minutes walk away. The bus to the old town, where you will find lots of lovely Tapas bars, is 1.10 Euros and takes 10 minutes. You can walk in 20 minutes. We loved the mix of the beach and Almeria Old Town. The sofas are large and very comfortable. The bedroom has plenty of storage and overlooks the sea, and is lovely to wake up to. The bed was on the hard side but we had no problem sleeping. The bathroom is big with a large shower. The air conditioning worked fine as did all the facilities in the kitchen which has a large and efficient fridge. There is a terrace at the back which is shared, we only used it to dry clothes (there is a washing machine) but there are loungers and tables and a working BBQ. The neighbourhood was quiet and friendly. We scored 4/5 for check-in only because we didn't meet Juan and were let in by the cleaner who spoke no English and was reluctant to let us in at first. But it was all fine and Juan allowed us to leave our bags there as our flight was very early. If we had any problem we texted Juan and he got back to us promptly. If you want a relaxing, authentic Spanish holiday this is definitely for you. We loved Almeria and Juan's appartment.
