Beautiful property! Thank you Neal for sharing your lovely home! The accommodations were on point! We saw a whale on our first morning ( unusual for this late in season), turtles on the beach daily, rainbows over the house, and a stunning view! The house has everything you need, including access to a huge W/D in the garage. Neal is a great host, easy to communicate with, and also giving us space and privacy. The property is gated and feels very safe. We felt comfortable leaving our windows and doors open, but also had ability to lock up. A/C in bedroom cools entire apt. Lastly, the reality is even better than the pictures! Highly recommend.

We could not have picked a better place to stay. Everything was exactly like the listing. We had the beach to ourselves. Owners were super nice. We would for sure stay here again.

It would be hard to give a review of this oceanfront house and Neil without being repeating other reviews. A few additional positives - the house is much bigger than the photos. The living room/dining area/ kitchen is very roomy as is the bathroom. Also, many beach houses smell musty or damp. This one doesn't. Very pleasant. And a final note, when we started our rental car for our trip to the airport to fly home we had a dead battery! Neil came to our rescue and we were on our way on about 10 minutes. A wonderful vacation on the North Shore.

Neal’s property is beautiful and well appointed. It had everything we needed to spend a quiet family Christmas with my son who stayed just for the weekend. Then my mom joined us for New Year’s. I no longer have a home in Hawaii to come back to since mom sold our house in Mililani. This place was the next best thing! Waaaay better than a hotel! Lovely location on the beach to watch the big wave surfers, snorkel (just a little), and we even spotted a turtle and a Hawaiian monk seal. Neal is super friendly and a good communicator. He even allowed me to pick a few Myers lemons from his garden tree (just like home). I definitely recommend this VRBO!

The home is absolutely amazing. The pictures are great but it’s breathtaking in person. We had an incredible time. The beach access is amazing, we spent so much time there it was challenging to leave and visit other beaches! I would go back in a heartbeat. I really hope it will not be a once in a lifetime experience.

Our stay at this property was unbelievable. It is within steps of the beach with the most beautiful sunsets every single night. We loved the nearby beach town with plenty of shopping and great food. There are plenty of things to do or just lounge around and enjoy! We will definitely be back!

We are both in her 70s and found the stairs to be a little challenging. But once you got to the top it made every step worthwhile. Haleiwa is the perfect location to get away from Honolulu and still be close enough to enjoy its attractions. Robert (Neil) was very accommodating we would return in a heartbeat.

Highly recommended. Views are amazing. Neal is great. Location is quiet but just a few minutes from Haleiwa and Waimea. Beach is beautiful and super quiet with lots of turtles.

Neal was a great host. His twins are great kids. Never heard them playing or running around. Never saw toys laying around. We were never bothered by anyone. We were able to enjoy the beach, the double decker gazebo, our own private deck with no one ever around. We would come back in a heart beat. Everything you need is available to use. If you don’t have it or can’t find it just call Neal. We never had to bother him as we were prepared for our trip after reading all the reviews. Most importantly read all the reviews so you know what to expect. You should expect a beautiful views, turtles, sounds of the ocean all day and night, and yes this host has a family and he is gracious enough to share his paradise with the rest of us. Expect your experience to maybe be different than the pictures only because the beach changes as the season changes. Maybe one time of the year it is all sand and then the ocean changes the beach and exposes rocks. So bring beach shoes and remember Mother Nature changes the beach not the host of the property! We had a fantastic stay at Robert’s beach house. The rental unit is in fantastic shape—even better than it looks in the pictures. Robert was a responsive, attentive and helpful host (he lives on site), but the rental unit was also very private and we had our space fully to ourselves. The unit has AC, but we didn’t ever use it—with the windows open and the ceiling fans running, the trade winds kept us cool and comfortable. You won’t want to close the windows and miss the beautiful sound of the waves! While the beach access is a bit steep (there are stairs but they get covered in sand when the tide is high) and the immediate beachfront is too rocky to be swimmable, there’s at least a mile of walkable beach in each direction. We walked 2 minutes left or right on the beach each day and had tons of space and swimmable water. We saw turtles feeding on the reef every day we were here, and had turtles come up to nap on the beach a few of the days. Our final day here, three turtles came up and slept on the beach all afternoon about 100 yards from the house. It’s so much more peaceful than crowded Laniakea Beach (aka Turtle Beach), but you can walk there in about 20 minutes if that’s your preference. If you’re looking for great ocean views from your bed, a long, quiet stretch of beach to enjoy, and turtles, then this is the place for you!

The beach is almost always entirely empty, and while there are some rocks out front in the water, water shoes and a short push out makes for great swimming if you’re adept at reading the tide/current (probably not for small water naive kids). The turtles are amazing! The AC does work well but takes maybe a day running to fully cool (if you choose to close windows). The kitchen has all the necessities — the only thing that would make it above and beyond would be more cutting boards / drying racks and a dishwasher unit (if that’s even possible). The views are stunning and there’s two big nice TVs to unwind with. Washer and dryer in the garage are fantastic, and there’s a private deck and palapa that we enjoyed for amazing sunsets. You’re a 5 minute drive to downtown Haleiwa, and 5 minutes from the awesome Waimea Beach (north end with calmer tides to swim safely in). I couldn’t have asked for a better north shore stay. We’ve visited the north shore before, and most reasonably affordable units aren’t maintained well — they’re either minimalistic surfer rentals, McMansions price gougers, or not on the beach / a resort rip off (Turtle Bay). This has been the owner’s property for decades and he cares about maintaining his rental unit and investment with upgrades and renovations over the years. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat for peace, quiet, and comfort in Oahu.

You just can’t beat this location and the value of the property. The beach is right there. It’s incredibly private (except for the sea turtle that, much to our delight, spent an afternoon with us) and the views are stunning. The place has everything you need. Our only compliant (that would keep us from returning though can’t keep me from giving 5 stars) is the bed. The mattress of the King bed in incredibly hard and made for uncomfortable sleep. Would gladly pay a little more for a better sleeping experience.

Wonderful place to spend a week relaxing on North Shore... right on the beach. The apartment is clean, adorable, and well equipped. The bed was a little hard for my taste, but otherwise, the place was quite comfortable. The double-decker gazebo is delightful for dinning, having coffee or a drink, or just watching the surf. Honu (turtles) haul out to bask on the beach almost every day, and the sound of crashing waves lulls you to sleep at night. If you're not running around sightseeing, this is the PERFECT place to enjoy the beach.

If you're staying in North Shore, beach access is king. Let this place be your castle. My wife and I stayed here for a week as part of our honeymoon. As you step out of your rental car, the first thing you hear is the sound of the ocean. Walk to the back yard and there it is. Stand in the backyard and marvel at the beautiful beach, and then take a few steps down and put your feet in the sand. You couldn't find a place with closer beach access if you tried. A few hundred yards to the right is Chun's Reef, a popular surf spot where we saw surfers every day from sunrise to sunset. Walk to the left and you're likely to find sea turtles. A very large turtle came onto the beach one day for a rest and we could also see turtles in the surf most days, looking for a spot to come onto the beach. Inside, the place was very clean and well-kept. Bed and pillows were comfortable and we had plenty of bath and beach towels. There are also plenty of beach chairs, goggles, boogie boards, surfboards, and anything else you would want to have fun at the beach. Neal is a great host and quick with restaurant or activity recommendations. He was even kind enough to take some pictures for us when we decided to get all dressed up for dinner one night. When you decide to go into Haleiwa town, it's only a 6-minute drive away. There, you will find tons of galleries, shops, restaurants, and free parking. I recommend Haleiwa Joe's, Uncle Bo's, and Teddy's Burgers. We had a wonderful stay at Neal's and can't wait until we can come back! We can't recommend Neal's place enough.

My husband and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary in this wonderful rental. First of all, the views from all windows were spectacular. The house was well equipped with everything one would need to have a great vacation. We would go to sleep to the sound of the waves crashing onto shore. We practically had the beach to ourselves during our stay. The beach is just steps away from the cottage and we saw sea turtles sunbathing. The owner is very warm and welcoming. There are several good restaurants nearby if you choose to eat out. This is a beautiful part of the island and uncrowded. We absolutely loved it and plan to return.

This place is amazing! It was hard to leave here and go sightseeing because the ocean and sand beach are right in front of us! We really enjoyed watching (and participating with) all the surfers, boogie boarders, paddle boarders, wind surfers, and more right from our own deck. On several days a sea turtle beached himself right near us. Just minutes away from lots of restaurants and shops and grocery stores. Neal was great to deal with and was very responsive to any requests we had. It's a very spacious apartment with a great bathroom and furnished kitchen. We're very happy we chose this place for our week-long vacation on Oahu!

The view from this unit is incredible. This is a perfect spot along the North Shore if you're looking to relax. The property is well maintained and the owner is very nice. It is on a quiet street, though easily accessible to the surrounding area. We will definitely be coming back!
