St. Marys è stata appena annunciata come la città più bella della Georgia da Architectural Digest! Vieni a vedere perché. Situato al secondo piano del vecchio edificio della centrale telefonica proprio sul lungomare storico di St. Marys, Southern Bell chiama. Recentemente rinnovato in stile Low-Country questa struttura offre una vista incredibile sul lungomare. Passeggiata a ristoranti, musei e parchi locali. Il traghetto per le isole Cumberland Island proprio di fronte alla proprietà. Cumberland Island è la prima esperienza in spiaggia selvaggia con 15 miglia di spiaggia sottosviluppata da esplorare. Cavalli selvaggi e rovine storiche si aggiungono all'avventura.

We couldn't wait to get back here! The place is spotless and so very relaxing! We enjoy the fact that we can go out on the deck to watch the water and listen to the live music next door. Such a cool place to stay!

Cumberland Island has been on my bucket list for years. We stayed at the best location to do so much! We went twice to Cumberland Island, walked to several stores/restaurants, drove to Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach FL too! We even had some down time just to chill out on the porch and watch the boats go by. We even enjoyed the music from local restaurants from this amazing place! Highly recommend and hope to do again because there’s still so much we didn’t have time for. It was just the place I needed at this time. Linda was fantastic to communicate with and her mom did great with the decor!💗

We stayed for 4 nights. Upon arriving there was a very strong moldy smell coming from the air conditioner. Stong enough to make us ill. We contacted the manager and over the course of a day and 1/2 she sent a service person out to fix it. Day 3 and 4 were very nice. The place was very clean and beautifully appointed.

Wow! What a great location and wonderful experience! A must stay if you're visiting St. Marys! The posting is completely accurate--a great two bedroom, river front vacation home to welcome you to an almost island-like retreat on the St. Marys river. Moments from dining, nightly live music and the ferry to Cumberland Island. We were celebrating the retirement of a Navy friend at Kingsbay Submarine Base which is an easy 15 minute drive, as is Crooked River State Park. While we were out frequently, the full kitchen and available appliances and cookware would have let us dine in anytime. The deck was a great retreat to sit and overlook the river, or we could opt to sit on porch swings with a short walk. The next time we return to St. Marys we will definitely be looking to return to the Southern Bell!

My husband and I just completed a two week stay at the Southern Bell. It turned out to be the perfect place for us to explore St. Mary’s, Georgia and areas nearby. The view out of our 2nd floor living space was over the St. Mary’s River. We loved watching the Cumberland Ferry boarding right across the street. Restaurants were a short walking distance from our temporary home. Calm bike rides around town also helped us connect with the area (Saturday community market, parks to enjoy a packed lunch or listen to the local small band perform). Of course we went on a walking tour - Murder and Mayhem of St. Mary's - fun! At Crooked River State Park we signed up for a low tide kayak excursion with a naturalist. St Mary’s is located between Amelia Island and Jekyll Island. Both have amazing bike trails that go on forever. However it always was a joy to return to the Southern Bell…fresh, clean, comfortable and lacking nothing.

This was a fun, beautiful, remodeled apartment on the St. Mary’s River in Historic downtown. Comfortable beds and furniture, new appliances, washer and dryer and very clean. So nice to just walk to restaurants, submarine museum, shops and the waterfront park and Ferry dock!

My wife and I were very impressed with our stay at the Southern Bell. The place was much nicer than we expected and a great location. Cleanliness was exceptional and with all the amenities we never went to the store for coffee, cream, toiletries, etc…. We visited 3 of the 4 major islands in the area during our long weekend and would highly recommend the Southern Bell for exploring the local area.

This was my 2nd stay at the property. The location has amazing views and is so convenient. The local food is amazing. The unit provides a great living space. I utilized the laundry area. The owner is fantastic to work with.

Views of river for sunrise and sunset, walking distance to everything including Cumberland Island Ferry, dining, parks, and museums. Very well appointed with plenty of fluffy towels, soft sheets, and comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely decor celebrating the building’s history without being overdone. Beautiful reclaimed heart of pine for floors, doors, and some furniture items. Very relaxing!

We really enjoyed our stay! Linda was a fabulous host! Her place was charming, spotless, had everything we needed, and offered an amazing view of the river. The location was perfect for walking to the ferry and nearby restaurants. Communication was superb. We will definitely stay again!

We had a great time in this charming apartment! I really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio overlooking the water. The town is small but not lacking in things to do and see. This place is perfect for you if you want a quiet and peaceful getaway!

We have stayed here a few times. It is becoming our home away from home while we get ready to build in the area. We love the place and Linda is the best property owner we have encountered. Nothing is left undone, she has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

We had an amazing time at Southern Bell. It was spotlessly clean and really easy to settle into for our week-long stay. We spent a lot of time out on the deck enjoying the river view. We loved all of the windows, especially the views when there were storms.

St. Marys and "Southern Bell" grabbed our heart.
Our first visit to celebrate our 55 anniversary and we were so pleasantly surprised by the beautiful ammenities. It is perfect location. Hope you can keep this area a secret for a few more years!!

We had a wonderful visit with only one hiccup! The electronic door lock didn't like us! Once we got in touch with the owner we were set to have a great visit. She even called to check in on us! The place was very clean and a great location! We walked to the ferry, to eat, and to shop. The neighbors were very friendly as always and we felt like we were at home. We think the bed is a full size and not a queen, it was very small but we're used to a king size. We had a great stay!

Literally right on the water. Fully stocked kitchen to cook your meals and enjoy while you watch the boats come and go from the dining room table or porch. This is such a comfortable place. The restaurants, bars, and attractions make this perfect for wandering around and enjoying the slow pace of a small coastal town. Impossible to feel anything but relaxed when I'm here.

I've discovered St Mary's and Southern Bell last summer, when I went with my girlfriend. We took the ferry to Cumberland Island, spent time on the beach, admired the wild horses and visited the ruins of the beautiful mansion once owned by the Carnegie family. We had such a great time that we couldn't wait to return. This year, for Mother's Day, I went there with my mom. We had 5 wonderful days. Everything was perfect: the weather, our welcoming host, Linda, the apartment at Southern Bell, the delicious food at the local restaurants. For my mom it was her first time visiting the US and I'm happy that I chose St Marys for our vacation. I would definitely recommend this place.

This was the first VRBO rental we have had that was better in every way than the pictures online showed. (If ya know, ya know!)
We loved this place. We were in town for the Cumberland Island experience. This rental is located across the street from the ferry dock.
A very clean place with all the amenities you could need. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evenings and listening to live music from the nearby bar and grills.My wife and I agreed we will definitely be back.

We met our adult daughter and boyfriend and really enjoyed the area and location. Right across from where the ferry leaves for Cumberland Island and beautiful views of the waterfront. The apartment was nicely appointed and pretty, and a short walk to several bars and eateries. A very relaxing place to stay.

This is a great little apartment by the riverfront in St. Marys, a perfect location for experiencing the little town and especially for a day trip or more to Cumberland Island, located right across from where the ferry leaves.
Very clean and had everything we needed for our short stay, we would definitely stay here again.

This property couldn't have been more perfect! It was picturesque and spotless. It had everything to make you feel at home and nice having two bathrooms. We spent two days going to Cumberland Island and it was wonderful to return home to our apartment. Very convenient to the Ferry landing. Would definitely love to stay here again!

We chose this rental for its history and location. Perfect spot to access points north and south! We went up to Jekyll Island and down to Jacksonville Beach. Clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Loved the old phones :) we could t use the outside deck due to storms but it would have been lovely spot for morning coffee!

Great stay in St. Marys!
Southern Bell is in a great location and is spotlessly clean. Outside you can hear music from the Tiki bar nearby, but it is very quiet inside. We will stay here again .
