It was nice and bright
The cleaners were a let down to this property.
We were allowed to go in at 2, which we did...they cleaners hadn't been and came at 2.10...just walked in and really upset the dog.
We left them until 3 before we went back, the bottom sheet was hardly put on the bed and the bedside lamp was left upside down in the corner with someone's Tablet papers left on the bedside table .
The bathroom could do with a proper clean.
Also the property description says cleaning products were included....there were none!!!!

The Bay Resort was a lovely place to stay for a long weekend. We enjoyed our stay, apart from the beds in our apartment. We used the onsite pool, sauna, and steam room included. We would definitely return but to a different cottage or chalet on the resort.
The cottage we stayed in was very basic, needed some maintenance and thorough clean, and the beds were very uncomfortable, which left us exhausted by the end of our trip. Noted other cottages around the resort seemed better equipped.

Lovely size property in a great the location with easy walk to absolutely beautiful beach. The property was reasonably priced and pretty spacious with all the essentials you need for a short get away.
It really wasn’t very clean or well cared for. A lot of the furniture and fixtures were very tired and dated. The bathrooms particularly were pretty dirty and dusty with mouldy grout and dirty plugs, the seal round the bath was hanging off. It would have been to have a bit more up to date folder with information about the site etc

A spacious ground floor apartment in a great location
The flat was newly painted and the curtains tasteful, but the cleanliness of the apartment was very poor. Skirtings dusty, the kitchen, filthy cutlery, and crockery all had to be washed before use. The whole area is flicked over and needs a deep clean.
The main bathroom (shower) needs attention or the seals replacing they are yellow with grime.
This is such a shame because the complex is great, near to the beach, a pub on site, and a shop.
I would return but not to this apartment, sadly.

The apartment was good location and good size rooms
The apartment was thick with dust around all skirting boards and edges of the floor. The bathrooms were dirty and had to be cleaned before use. Pots and pans in the kitchen all needed to be washed before use as were dirty.

We liked the comfort of the sofas and the double bed.
There was limescale in the kettle so we didnt feel like using it. My little boy slept in the smaller room on the bunk bed but found it a bit difficult to climb up as there was a bedside table in the way.

Great location.
Very sparsely equipped throughout. 1 small tv, no music system, radio or other forms of activity. No child crockery of cutlery, overall poorly equipped. For a self catering apartment the facilities lacked in every way, the cleanliness of the kitchen was poor, every item of cutlery and crockery required re washing before use, as they’d been put away heavily soiled with food debris. We are unlikely to re visit. and didn’t consider it to be value Fiordland money.

we have stayed in The Bay before and it is simply fab. to a very good standard, fab facilities and great location right on the beach
only 2 little niggles - the room opposite were chain smokers which unfortunately spread across into our room, not great for none smokers. secondly the bunk beds squeak a little so woke the kids up.

Difficult to find key safe, no markings on the box with flat number…
as it is ground floor flat, blinders in the bedroom would be better instead of curtains .

Big enough for a family
There was things what clearly had not been cleaned in a while payed alot of money to have to clean up before I could even use bathroom at all grime everywhere 🙃 dissatisfied to say the least

The Oystercatcher is a ground flood apartment in a great location within The Bay resort; is it a few minutes walk from the local resteraunts and the beach, yet still in a quiet area.
The apartment itself was light and spacious.
The apartment itself was not well maintained and was dirty; this was particularity notable in the en-suite bathroom, living and kitchen area. The maintenance aspects included attention to details; scuff marks on many walls, screw heads in the walls, doors not finished. The layout of facilities such as a small sink underneath a shelf in the bathroom was not easy to co-orfinate for someone at 6ft 2".
A real shame as with a little more TLC it could be a really lovely apartment.
The information pack on arrival in the apartment does also provide misleading and outdated information on the leisure centre and activities on site; guests who do not book the The Bay website, and through secondary sites such as booking.com, are not entitled to free access to the pool and gym facilties and require payment.

Great apartment located in nice holiday village. Everywhere was clean. Flowers blooming Everywhere. Friendly people. Good facilities on site. Short walk to main road for buses into town. Beach was immaculate.
Path to beach was a bit of a killer on my old knees.

The property was clean and within good distance of the leisure centre and a 15 minute walk to the beach.
the beds were comfortable and the living area was a good size for our group
no designated BBQ areas, so it meant taking heavy food items + disposable grills to the beach
