Weather was fab which made the iconic water surrounds glisten with autumn lighting

Great location. Very clean. All amenities provided. Plenty of room. Communication was fast and always friendly. Nothing to worry about at this property. Had a great experience.

The family loved the spot and the home was comfortable, private and stocked with everything needed. Unfortunately when i left after double checking the house I forgot to check the fridge for items I couldn’t pack up earlier. Hope this didn’t cause an inconvenience.

The property was just as advertised. A wonderful location and marvelous views. The property owner was very helpful and friendly. I would come back here again and highly recommended it to anyone.

My family and I have stayed at this property two times now. The location is absolutely stunning, a number of beds works for us, and the family gatherings in the backyard are the best!

The outside view was very nice. My sister said that her bed (1st) bedroom was so hard, she was unable to sleep. But all in all, the property was nice and and livable.

We were excited to experience our first family vacation the primary reason for selecting The Mushroom was because it included that it was wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, from the car to the door required wheelchairing my elderly mother over gravel and mud and then onto a slippery, narrow ramp to the door. Unfortunately, only the kitchen, dining and living rooms were wheelchair accessible - the hallway to the bedrooms and bathrooms were not. Further, the wheelchair didn't fit into the bathrooms. It also required picking up the wheelchair to get out to the patio. After a difficult evening, my mother asked to go home. Because of this, her grandchildren and great grandchildren decided not to join us. All this written, my brother, husband and I enjoyed ourselves and believe we left the home cleaner than it was when we arrived. I will admit to feeling crushed that the first family vacation was a bust and will not be planning another.

This cottage is fabulous!! The view is picture perfect.The beach being in your backyard was great, my nephew enjoyed hours looking for treasure to ship home to Oregon. Just a perfect place for what we needed in a sad time in our lives. A little piece of heaven

This is our second time renting this wonderful place and hope to in the future . There are more fancy places to rented but this place is very down to earth and easy to be a family in .

Quiet, Wonderful location with beach front and memorable views. Great place to relax and enjoy family and friends. Excellent communication and response from owner. Requests for more towels, insect spray, readily attended. Weather during first half of stay (August) was very warm, damp, and rainy, therefore slept with fans in bedrooms and ran fans in living areas. Many fans were available in the house. But weather cooled off during second half of stay, comfortable sleeping, with beautiful days, cool nights, and photographic sunsets. Good showers with hot water, including outdoor shower. Equipped kitchen and BBQ to handle a variety of food preparation needs.

The location is stunning and cannot be beat for the price. Very private, beautiful private beach, gorgeous sunsets and moonlit nights over the bay. My family had a wonderful time.

We had a lovely time at the Mushroom. Quiet, secluded, seaside get away. Charming vintage decor. Lots of fun for my family to gather. Kids loved watching the boats go by. Would strongly recommend!

Being right on the water was great. Our grandchildren loved being able to walk down to the water and paddle board or kayak. The adults loved these activities too. One of our daughters runs every day and loved running through your beautiful neighborhood. Our 10 year old granddaughter cleaned and decorated the playhouse. Our 8 year old grandsons enjoyed playing soccer in the yard. A great time was had by all. Thank you!

Very well stocked with everything and anything we needed! The weather was not on our side BUT because we lived in Bristol we were able to do everything we wanted. A bit disappointed as it was very damp and sometimes a musty smell was present. The screens were in need of repair as we had more than our share of little insects as visitors. Upgrading the outdoor furniture would be a suggestion.... Linens and towels were plentiful but another suggestion would be replacing with FLUFFY new ones. We did not mind paying the money for it at all and have done many VRBO properties and will continue to do so. I think for the price of this one, basic cable was disappointing as the weather was not conducive to being outdoors as often as we would have liked. LOCATION and View were 6 star.... The cottage does need deep cleaning and upgrading though!

Our young family enjoyed our stay at this cozy seaside cabin. The privacy was unmatched and we loved exploring the beach and looking for deer. Bring water shoes to protect from the shells and rocks. We would recommend with 5 stars!

We had a wonderful week at the “Mushroom” cottage on Poppasquash Point. It was our first post-Covid getaway with our daughters and grandchildren. The house is not fancy but was very comfortable and had everything we needed to entertain adults and children. The shell-covered beach was fun to explore and the swimming was good even though the early June water was cold. We brought along water shoes which we’d recommend. We played lawn games and board games, had charcuterie and wine while watching beautiful sunsets, a lobster boil one night and a clam boil later in the week. The kitchen has everything you need and the grill got lots of use. Watching fishing boats, sailboats and ships passing was a real treat. We all slept well in comfortable beds and the sea breeze flowed nicely through the house. We had a great time and look forward to returning! Thank you!

The Mushroom was a wonderful place to chill out and enjoy Narragansett Bay. The west facing (sunset) view was fabulous and private access to the water was special (bring water shoes). The house is largely original and charming. Bristol is a fun town with plenty to do. We spent a lot of time riding our bikes at Colt state park and on the East Bay bikepath.

Lovely spot tucked away on a private road amidst beautiful mansions. Very close to the water. Everything we wanted for a family get together.

Great location, private. I would suggest a window AC unit in at least one room.

We loved this home! The view is beautiful and the private beach access was wonderful. Definitely recommend water shoes since the shore area and water are both rocky and shelly. Great place to get away with friends or family!

We had a wonderful time at the house. We rented kayaks, canoes and paddle boards and the water was perfect. Gorgeous sunsets and plenty of restaurants. We would love to go back.

Our family had such a relaxing and nice time at The Mushroom! Thank you for sharing it with us! We truly felt like we had our own private paradise! We loved the private beach access and that the cottage sat back in the woods. We even saw a deer on the beach. Watching the sailboats go by was a highlight. The only thing we would change are the mattresses as they were really hard. We will be back!

If you are looking to destress and enjoy a waterfront property away from it all, this is your rental. The beach is shell and small rocks; no sand but great for beach combing for small treasures. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I spent five days with extended family -- our son, his wife, toddler and baby, my sister and our elderly mother. The house has everything you need---the furnishings are comfortable and the kitchen is better equipped than mine! The view is stellar; the area is perfect for walking, running, biking as your are just minutes away from Coggeshall Farm and Colt Park; it is a short ride into town and to Portsmouth Beach. You are also a very short ride away from Warren where we took in the premiere of the Second Story Theatre's August production. We would definitely book this rental again.

1950's bayside cottage tucked deep in the woods, complete with attic fan to suck in the sea breeze and a kitchen equipped to feed the masses. Not fancy and a perfect spot for the family reunion we enjoyed gathered on the back patio with the bay in full view or lingering around the dining table or in the living room. It was comfortable for all.

we loved the location and property. the views were amazing and we loved the private beach. we hung out on the porch swing and looked at the water and the passing boats. we had a fire inside in the family room each night. the house was very accommodating to our family. it was perfect for our needs. we had a great family croquet game on the front lawn overlooking the ocean. we would love to go back!

The Mushroom is a hidden gem. A beautiful, isolated spot, right on the bay, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quaint cottage. The description online can't do justice to waking up with the ocean outside your door. Everything about our long weekend was just perfect. If you're looking for luxury accommodations this probably isn't your place but with two baths, a refreshing outdoor shower and plenty of lawn space, our party of 8 was crushed when we had to leave. I look forward to returning to this special spot.

My family and I just wrapped-up a week’s stay. It was in every way delightful time, and this house contributed greatly to the success of our event. It’s a gorgeous setting with amazing beach access; and the layout provided a good balance of privacy and togetherness for our four families and three generations under one roof. It’s far better equipped than other rentals we’ve seen, and very comfortable and useable. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. Bristol itself is a lovely and interesting town, with (among other attractions) several excellent restaurants.

Wonderful view and privacy with a relaxing atmosphere. We held a family reunion here and rarely even left the point. It provided a wonderful location to get the family back together for some great memories. Everyone in the family agreed that the weekend was a home run and we hope to return next year for an even longer stay.
