We came back from Clave Verde feeling grateful. We loved waking up to nature sounds, serene surroundings, fresh juices, and healthy, hearty breakfasts. We enjoyed our morning conversations with Jonathan and greatly appreciated Noemi's recommendations for places to go and her arranging our trip to El Limon waterfall. We decided to have our last dinner at Clave Verde's restaurant, and we regretted not doing that every night; the food was exquisite and made with a lot of love; thank you, Sandra, and everyone in the kitchen. Clave Verde is a short drive to most beaches around. It's a great location if you want to enjoy the day trips yet retreat away from the hustle and bustle in the evening. Please note when you arrive, it is a steep drive up the hill; it helps to have the shift on the 1st gear.

I loved perfect views, nature. It's far from town, but quite close to the road, if you want to catch guagua to somewhere. This place is simply excellent!

Fantastic location, very peaceful. Very friendly staff. Beautiful food and drinks in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Great to hear about the work being done to make the lodge even more sustainable and eco friendly. Lots of useful local knowledge shared for great beaches/restaurants to visit in the local area. A great place to stay!

Everyone at Clava Verde was extremely friendly and super helpful, even when it came to favors unrelated to something with the stay at the hotel. The food at the restaurant was delicious, from chicken with orange, to pulpo caspaccio, to fresh tuna to vegetable stew. The vista in the middle of the lush forrest was tremendous as well.

Everything was wonderful so please do yourself a favor - stay here! Thank you Clave Verde for everything. I hope to be back soon!

* Phenomenal view and location, right in the Samana jungle and lots of activities nearby (for example, salto El Limon). * Friendly, attentive and incredibly intelligent owners that speak multiple languages like French, English, Spanish and German. * They take the eco part seriously with solar power on site, little details like paper straws (instead of plastic), and no unnecessary air conditioning (a vent does the job fine). * Great dinner with stunning vegan and vegetarian options but also a great selection of seasonal seafood and meats. * Tasty and customizable breakfast. * Clean rooms with freshly filtered water. * Cozy little pool and overall beautiful and tasteful interior design. * fantastic overall ambience and vibe of the place, it's very easy to get in touch with other guests at the hotel and to make new acquaintances. We had great conversations with other guests and the owners. * The owners can help you book any tours and transfers and know all the best options without being biased and trying to sell.

* The small road that leads from the main road to the hotel is not that well maintained, and, after some rain, can be full of potholes. Maybe some more gravel would help. * The rainwater gutter at one of the huts is dripping water which can make the already uneven surface slippery. * We (non-smokers) would prefer if there would be a separate smoking area from the main dining area. It's unpleasant that there is practically no way to escape the smoke during dinner or breakfast when in the dining area. * The water pressure is not great. However it's a general problem in the Dominican Republic and totally understandable that pumping it up is made hard by the location on a hilltop.

'Clave Verde Ecolodge' is a place that invites you to linger. Even the first greeting is very warm, the whole environment can be described as family and you feel that you have arrived. The restaurant kitchen conjures up wonderful delicacies and the background music is evidence of exquisite taste - a well-rounded affair. Of course, the view is breathtaking and it was difficult for us to say goodbye. We say thank you to the whole lodge crew for this unfortunately short but unforgettable stay! It was the best accomodation experience we had in our month int he dominican republic. It was better than expected. Absolute paradise in the middle of the junge. Great design in alignment with nature. Beautiful pool and scenery, friendly and helpful staff, even had a great chat with the owners. The food in the restaurant was amazing as well! The view from our room was breathtaking. Cant recommend it any more!

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Clave Verde for 5 days. It was the best accommodation we had in 15 days in DR. The place is surrounded by nature, and the view is amazing. We also really enjoyed eating in the restaurant. They serve fresh and good quality food. I absolutely recommend this place.

Big pool, excellent food, nice staff

Upon arrival we were greeted and assisted. The staff was extremely helpful, polite and friendly. The check-in process was easy and the overall experience was excellent. Place is as described and it exceeded our expectations! The food was delicious and Sandra (the chef) was terrific!!! Noemi (the owner) was also very nice and helpful. Always making sure that we were taken care of. I’d definitely recommend this place and will be back for sure!
