Clean hotel with friendly welcoming staff. A lot quieter than staying further in town.

Cleanliness

The hotel is located in the town centre of Oban, walking distance to attractions, restaurants and supermarkets, with sufficient parking spaces nearby.

The facilities are rather old, room is very small and a little bit uncomfortable, there is a very noisy ventilator under the window.

Location was great. Bed was comfortable. The room was spacious and clean and nicely modernised. The person in reception was quite new but was very courteous and helpful. It's an older building with creaky floors but that added some character. Slightly on the pricey end for what you get but that seems to be the norm these days.

We were on the top floor and had 2 flights of stairs to get to the room. No lift. With heavy bags it was a pain, but doable. After a long flight, then drive and being tired - it probably was more of a chore than it would normally be. We are able bodied but if we weren't, I don't recall stairs being mentioned on booking. Just be aware.

Absolutely loved the hotel, staff, and location. We stayed in a "family" size room that was perfect for my 3 kids and I. The location was super easy to get to from the train station and ferry terminals. Perfect in every way! Thank you Kelvin Hotel.

Nice continental breakfast. Ideally situated to train and bus terminal NICE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. IDEALLY SITUATED TO TRAIN, BUS AND FERRY. ALL RESTAURANTS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE

The hotel is 5 minutes away from the city center (walking) where you have tons of restaurants and other shops. The rooms are exactly what is shown on the pictures, very comfy beds. Breakfast must be booked the previous day for £7.5 which is a very good price compared to what's offered (continental breakfast with all sorts of breads, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits...)

Really good value stay. Its a great location for visitors arriving by train and using the ferry as well as the local shops. The hotel had a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Good amenities in the room. Very quiet and comfortable in the evenings. A great choice for visiting Oban and beyond.

Some bacon egg or sausage wasn't on the table and I didn't notice a lot of staff there at the time

I liked how clean and comfortable the hotel is. We were only there for the weekend, but housekeeping was willing to change our towels and clean our room every day.l would recommend this hotel.

the room was really cozy and cute, and had everything we needed. the view was also very nice specially from the big windows in the room.

the noise from the pier in front of the hotel in the morning was kind of annoying.
