Run down property. No visible, hotel sign. HORRIBLE, UNSAFE CONDITIONS TO WALK TO THE HOTL FROM THE HWY ROAD. HOTEL IS IN RUN DOWN CONDITIONS, MAY LAST ONE YEAR MAX.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Shivanandi River Lodge. I organize spiritual journeys for Westerners and our group stayed here after visiting Kedarnath and Badrinath which was a physically exhausting journey and this was absolutely the PERFECT resting spot. The grounds are gorgeous, everyone who works there is so friendly and we ate one of the best meals, if not the best meal, of our entire journey! We absolutely plan on coming back next year with another group!

Excellent Location... Right on the river Alaknanda. Private Natural Pool Great service and fresh hot food Very scenic location...midst of nature. Just to keep in mind.. the place is rustic and a little raw( intentionally) and not your typical resort with lots of facilities. Dont expect luxury or premiumness. Also one has to walk a bit to reach the place from the highway. So elderly family members could have a problem. But if you want to unwind and get a peaceful simple natural holiday, without the commercialness of hotels/resorts, then this place is just right. People can really stay for days here and de-stress. Or if you want to have a very active sporty holiday, you could indulge in rafting and kayaking ( this place has all the facilities). We missed doing it because of lack of time. Shalabh is a good helpful host who has created this wonderful place. We thank him also as because of him we were lucky to see fire flies in the night, something my family wanted to see for a long time. We also had good sessions on the river and also captured some really serene moments. This place will stand apart in your mind!

Everything was likeable about this place. Great location, amazing food, clean and relaxing. And shalabh, the owner and his staff really take care of you. The food was really tasty even with the diet restrictions we had. Sine we were doing a pilgrimage, could not avail of the kayaking/rafting opportunity. Will return to relax there in future. Shalabh is a great guy to talk to and is very helpful and kind. A great home away from home.
