The location was perfect. Loved the apartment, the couch and bed were both very comfy! The heating was also appreciated.

Collected from Alex in the wine shop. He could not be more welcoming. All guets get a free bottle of wine .

Great location

It was a wonderfully spacious apartment with fabulous sunlight and large windows for letting in the breezes. Being located in the Bastide is a huge plus. Alex the owner is very responsive and a quick communicator making all the arrangements easy. We used the kitchen, dining room, and washing machine to keep our trip expenses quite manageable.

Well appointed apartment on the first floor with small balcony off the bedroom and lounge room overlooking the street. Comfy new bed! Kitchen well equipped. Host very friendly and helpful. Town square is very close at the end of the street with many good restaurants. Bonus, the very helpful host owns the wine shop on the ground floor.

Street can be noisy first thing in the morning and at night but that is to be expected in that location. Just adds to the atmosphere !

It was great to be both close to the Place Carnot (the central square in the Bastide part of Carcassonne and also a very easy walk to the Cite.

Being on first floor was great and lovely to have a balcony but occasionally a bit noisy but nothing massively disruptive

The apartment was excellent value for money. It is situated in a very good location ideal for exploring the town or further afield as the station is a few minutes walk away. The bed was very comfortable and the fan most effective. The owners are welcoming and helpful and the complimentary bottle of wine was much appreciated.

The apartment was in a great location. There was plenty of room and there was also a fantastic balcony. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was great too. The cooker/oven was easy to use, as was the washing machine. Bars, supermarkets and restaurants right on your doorstep.

everything we needed was there and very comfortable bed and sofas in lounge ideal for two people.

there was nothing to dislike as the owners seem to have catered for everything needed in a home.

Space, location, furniture, kitchen...

Place is central, so you have to expect it to be noisy, especially as windows are single glazing. That's the only issue with the place.

A pleasant and short staying in Carcassone near the square, shops, supermarkets, train station, restaurants, theatre, just a great location

Great apartment in fantastic location with lovely roof terrace. Very week equipped and lovely furniture. Very comfortable bed and quiet room.

The main entrance door to the building is dirty and the glass broken . Not a great first impression. There is also an unpleasant small on the staircase. Also payment was not automatic through Booking.com for some reason ? And we had to go the the owners shop to pay on the morning of our departure .

If you don't like stairs, book the first floor apartment.

The apartment is well located outside, but close to, the main touristic area. The apartment is spacious, for two, and the decoration fits very well the proposed idea. For those who like to buy some local stuff in the markets, the kitchen is well equipped. Alexander was easygoing and helpful throughout ours stay there.

There was a small inconvenience with the regulation of the temperature in the shower, but that was promptly solved.

Lovely apartment, full of character! Close walk to the old city and not too far a drive from Narbonne & Perpignan for beach days. Parking available close by, w/ weekly pass for €20. Host was very friendly and gave great recommendations! Would definitely return to this property! 😊

Its an apartment right in the very centre of Carcassone - easy to walk to dinner -s hops - citadel. Lovely traditional apartment with small kitchen. Perfect for a short stay.

Its location is its advantage and its drawback. In the centre - narrow street - 2 minutes walk from the square with all the restaurants and bars. Its not the quietest location at night as a result

Everything is perfect!!!!

After a second stay in 2 years at Rue Barbes, myself and my girlfriend can only rave about the apartments. We arrived just after the massive European heatwave but it was still very warm, so the 2 fans in the apartment were a welcome break from walking around in the heat. Everything about the apartment was above standard once again, with a lovely welcome from Alex. When we eventually complete a 3rd trip to Carcassonne, we won't be looking for anywhere else to stay!
