I rarely give a perfect score but I had to make an exception in this case. Gabi (the host) was very friendly, very good English so communication was easy, her recommendations were always spot on and helped us a lot. We came in very late at night (1am) and as soon as we stopped in front of the driveway Gabi came out to greet us with a smile. I can’t say I’ve seen this kind of welcoming ever in my travels. This warm and kind behavior repeated consistently. We stayed at the 2nd floor apartment which had two bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and dining table, very spacious and really felt like home. The two bathrooms were a real treat and saved us time and discomfort. The Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We were close to everything, some nice small towns in the area, Soltau around 20 min drive which is a small price to pay for staying in the beautiful country side, Hamburg around an Hour’s drive. Definitely consider staying there as a family with kids, you won’t regret it, I recommend it to all my friends.

The one and only thing I’d mention is the steep stairway to the 2nd floor, I’d have liked to see a door or gate so the kids would not accidentally fall at night. We solved that with a heavy chair, but I’d rather have a better solution. All in all, very small challenge in light of all the good things.

The location is great, easy access every where, in the beautiful nature. Clean, comfortable. The hosts dont speak English, but their daughter and son in law , who live next door, do. They are very nice. We felt at home. Loved the place.

There are many spiders in and around the apartment. We asked for a vaccum cleaner and cleaned everything from spiders. A few did return. But I guess this is the cost of being close to nature. The kitchen is super small, the fridge's size is like a hotel's mini bar. No working space in the kitchen. We ate out.
