Very friendly owners and excellent location - you could pop into town to get bits and bobs

I didn’t like sharing the bathroom with other rooms and people leaving their. Towels and wet underwear in the bathroom. I knew it was go8ng to be shared but in reality I didn’t enjoy it

An ensuite bathroom with a good shower (though a bit small!); a comfortable bed; a very friendly and helpful hostess; and very close to the centre of Ely. Good parking a short distance away. A good price!

Wifi didn’t work for us, but we were given a refund.

Had to pay cash before even seeing the room. Staff only available at first check in. Not available for any queries. Only 1sachet of coffee and no one to ask to get any more.

The room was spacious and the location was good.

We booked a double room but got 2 single beds pushed together with the duvet not big enough to cover both beds. We were told that we had been upgraded to this room so heaven knows what the non upgraded bed situation would have been. It wasn't like a guest house, it was just a room in a separate building like rooms to rent. The owner would only take cash and didn't offer a receipt.

The bed was comfy

The decor of the room. There were no toiletries. It was a hot night, there was no air conditioning. It's near a road so very busy traffic you need ear plugs. No breakfast and there a few places to eat breakfast in Ely

Fantastic location close to Cathedral in a historic building. Comfortable room. No noise from other rooms. Owner brought me a fabulous fan immediately I asked for one.

The cash only option and the attempt to charge me more than had been confirmed several times by email (to cover their Booking. com commission).

The dark room the dark linen..and the fact I had share a bathroom. A dirty looking bathmat.The fact I had one dirty looking towel and no repleishment for anything. I shared my room with cobwebs..I called the owners but no answer. They were quick to take the money though!..Never again

Right in the centre of town, free car park nearby. Good cafe nearby for breakfast.

Shared bathroom/toilet in the same room could be a problem if there are several guests, but no problem while I was there. Kettle and cup in room not much use, I would have to bring a jar of coffee, a bag of sugar and a pint of milk!

Great location - easy access off the street with keys. I didn't expect too much for the price so room was a little bigger than I thought it would be. Friendly welcome when shown to the room.

lamps and lightbulbs not working. Didn't sleep very well as there was some late night traffic followed by early morning deliveries - comes with the location. Having to pay in cash - inconvenient and unusual in these modern times.

Location to the cathedral

no receipt for cash, too noisy, no breakfast, no fire safety label on entrance door, no where to hang towels or toiletry bag, no shower door fitted rather a curtain, no double bed- 2 singles placed together, steep stairs, could go on, too pricy for the offered accommodation, difficult to find. Tried to book the Lamp Hotel opposite having stayed there on buisness but it was fully booked.

I read some average reviews about this guest house but in my experience it was very good. The room was modern and spacious enough to have a wardrobe and a small table perfect for my laptop, and the bed was comfortable. Everything was very clean including the bathroom that had a perfectly decent shower (good pressure). And the location can not be beaten.

Extra £3 for the WiFi.

Payment must be in cash. Internet is 3 pounds a day and not very strong (can’t play videos). Remember the great price, though.
