Can't provide full context in under 1,500 characters per Vrbo imposed limit , but here's a quick rundown:
- Plenty of stairs: beware if traveling with disabled/elderly
- A/C system needs upgraded. The existing system is not able to adequately cool the home as a whole. The "secondary master suite" downstairs doesn't have vents at all, and no ceiling fan. It got very hot and stuffy. Thankfully there was a floor fan we plugged in the wall to help.
- The host, with no notice given at all, remotely manipulated the set temperature on the thermostat even though we never tried to set it below 70 per the owner's written rules.
- Only 5 washcloths provided for 7 people and 3 night stay. I sent message to host politely asking for more washcloths, and was told we were welcome to go buy some in Oakhurst, followed up with an additional remark conveying bewilderment that we dared to ask such a thing .
- We considered the house satisfactorily clean, but did find some hair and bugs in a couple of places. Definitely not 10/10 cleanliness as reported by pretty much all the other reviewers.
Everything else was okay. The best way to describe our overall opinion of this property is *overrated*. We just expected better from a property that had such unanimously glowing reviews on Vrbo, and we were particularly disappointed with the host’s behavior. It's hard to believe we're the only ones who've ever had a negative word to say about the property or its host.

The cabin was in perfect condition when we arrived. It was a perfect oasis after a day spent hiking at Yosemite or floating around Bass lake! The cabin is about thirty minutes from the south entrance of Yosemite, which was convenient for getting in the park early. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a home away from home near Yosemite!

We had a great time at this lovely cabin home. The kitchen is very well stocked which is not always the case in vacation rentals. The house has plenty of room but at the same time feels so cozy. The furniture and beds are comfortable and the house was very clean. Looking forward to returning when the weather is a bit warmer so we can enjoy the large back deck!

This place was everything we hoped for in a girls weekend get-away-from-it-all trip! The cabin was exactly as described and felt so welcoming from the moment we stepped inside. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us ladies to each have our own rooms as well as enough to all share in the common areas.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here whether it was taking a brisk walk around the lovely, peaceful neighborhood, playing a few games from the well stocked shelves, watching the sunrise from the enormous wrap around deck area, or making a nice meal in the fully loaded kitchen-it was all amazing!! We highly recommend this affordable home away from home retreat.
A special note: I was very picky in my search for a place that ultimately resembled a full-on cabin feel and this home was exactly that and more, especially with it's unique layout. We wished we could've stayed longer than 2 days!! Hopefully next time - Thank you for your generosity Daniel!!

The property was exactly as described! Owner was extremely responsive and kept in touch during our stay to ensure we had everything we needed, which we did! The rooms and amenities were perfect and more enjoyable than a commercial hotel! Wish we could have stayed longer! The setting was serene, quiet and clean. We enjoyed being a short distance to Bass Lake, but still experience nature! We will be back!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this spacious and cozy cabin near Bass Lake. It has a great wrap-around patio with the highlight being the back patio furnished with picnic table, outdoor lights, and lots of chairs to enjoy the view. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes. Daniel was an attentive host who was quick to respond to our questions. We hope to stay again someday!

This was a wonderful cabin, with great space, both indoor and outdoor! The neighborhood was quiet, the outside decks were absolutely amazing and the layout and feel of the cabin was cozy and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back sooner than later!

Very nice and cozy. We all loved it. We felt very comfortable. My grandkids were sad to leave. Went to Yosemite for snow and Bass lake to play some more. It was a great little get a way. My family and I stayed here for our annual Bass Lake summer trip. The house was great, had enough room for all of us and the best part was the close proximity to Bass Lake. Daniel was super responsive when we reached out to him a few times. We had such a great trip!

Relaxing time at the lake
Despite a minor glitch that really differ affect our trip (other than adding some unexpected excitement), this was a nice getaway. The setup of the house is perfect for a family; a master suite upstairs, two bedrooms on the main floor and a kids bedroom downstairs with its own bathroom. Perfect for teens that want to do games and such without disturbing everyone else. It’s not right on the lake, but it is literally just a few minutes away (albeit not really walking distance). The kitchen was well apportioned, the outdoor grill is under a nice big canopy so out of the sun, everything was great. Highly recommended for families!

Took my family of 7 here for vacation and it was great. There was more than enough room for everyone and felt very welcoming. The lake was very close and it was very peaceful the whole time. Host was very communicative and very helpful. We enjoyed our time here and will be looking forward to booking again.

Cozy hideaway
Stayed 6 nights at the Shady Glenn. Beautiful well appointed cabin with a great front porch and deck in back. A group of deer passed through the yard a few times. Close to Yosemite entrance, and Wawona .Dan was a great host. Answers all questions and quickly responds. The true sign of a good rental is if it makes you as comfortable as you are at home.We felt right at home in a short time. Would stay there again👍

Visited with another couple. Spent half day on the lake in pontoon boat, and half day in our kayak on the lake. Beautiful and relaxing. House is cozy and comfortable. We had everything we needed. Great time.

This cabin was perfect for our family to gather! Plenty of space for us all to be together and play games and plenty of room for everyone to have their own space when needed. Daniel was a phenomenal host! We will definitely stay here, again!

White Christmas
This home was perfect for our family. Everyone had their own rooms. Snowball fights & sledding were a plus. We did not have to leave to get snow play.
Kids really enjoyed the place. The home was welcoming & clean. I hit a few hiccups & Daniel was patient with me. We were snowed in for a few hours the day of check out. Daniel offered us to stay a little longer. Luckily for us they plowed the roads by 1pm.
Definitely would suggest AWD or 4 wheel. Even with chains we could not tackle the hill lol.
Overall it was a wonderful experience & some great memories were made. Kitchen was fully stocked.

We loved our stay! Has all the amenities you’d want and very spacious and upgraded. It’s in a quiet, pretty neighborhood super close to the lake. We felt right at home and would definitely come back and stay here again!

Great Property for Exploring the Area
We stayed here primarily for its proximity to Bass lake, but it is also a great location for other places such as Yosemite. We were able to do so much during our stay here. Quick drive to the lake, close to the south entrance of the park and Grove, and a little over an hour to the valley floor without traffic. The home is very well appointed with everything needed, and exceptionally clean. My son absolutely loved the games and game room and keeps asking when we are going back. My wife and I enjoyed our quiet evenings on the deck doing puzzles under the fun lights. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, and overall made for a very peaceful week. Fan was a great host with excellent communication, and made himself available if the need ever came up. That was nice peace of mind. Thank you, Dan. We will be back!

Wonderful home near Bass Lake
This is a great property! The home had everything we needed and worked well for all ages from the grandparents (bedrooms on ground floor) to my 12 year old son (board games, wii). Great outdoor sitting area. We were very grateful for the a/c when the temps got up to 102! Overall a lovely place to vacation at.

Our family of 5 (2 parents, 3 teens) loved The Shady Glenn. The house was clean and very comfortable. 3 fireplaces made it so cozy, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything you need and the bathrooms were updated and clean. What a great cabin, we’d love to come back again! Maybe next time we’ll come in the summer to enjoy the fabulous deck. Thanks for a great time!

Great cabin for Yosemite trips
We really enjoyed our stay at the Shady Glen. The place is clean and full of character. The kids really loved the decor of the house and had lots of fun with the wooded bear carving. Would definitely recommend.
