Old and the bed sheets were stained

Good location, easy trip into the town centre about 6k’s, supermarket few hundred meters away, comfy beds with electric blankets, good heating, spacious enough room.

Very dated room. Cracked tiles in shower, loose shower taps, very old dirt/dust on top of tiles that hasn’t been cleaned. Rusted towel rail. Under beds was filthy. Kettle had water left in it & was quite stained. Spoons were dirty. Small sitting area at rear would be nice if it were screened as per advertisement for privacy instead of tiny planter boxes. Non smoking room had ashtray at entry door & on rear table with butts in it. Contrary to advertising there was no room service or meals of any kind, in fact reception was closed the 3 days we were there, had to phone to find out room number & where key was. Parking is wherever there’s a space. I believe they’re maybe new owners, how new I’m not sure but basic hygiene needs attention as does marketing material given kindergarten next door & noise pollution from trucks/train. Wifi is also hit & miss.

Greeted by friendly & considerate staff. Tidy room, heater already switched on to make sure room was warm when we arrived. Good location & price for what we needed

Parking not allocated to specific room number. The only vacant carpark when we arrived back at the hotel for the night was located on the opposite side from where our room was. This wouldn’t have been a big problem if another inconsiderate customer had parked correctly. Instead they parked in 2 car parks leaving not enough room for our car. I ended up parking out the front of the hotel.

Very spacious room and ensuite. Everything we needed was there. I liked the liquid soap in the bathroom and the shower. Friendly and helpful staff. Anything we wanted we just had to ask. I would stay there again.

Everything was great. We had to drive into Bendigo but once we got used to the parking metres it was fine.

The booking in when I arrived as a little confusing. But that could have just been because I didn't know the process. That could be made clearer.

The room was very spacey, allowing my partner and I to be able to endure another lockdown period. Everything in our room was clean, something that is important to us, no matter what price is paid. The free laundry facilities were clean and a nice change from forking out a fortune normally to use public machines. Daryl (owner) and his wife were very accommodating, checking in daily with us if we needed anything. They were also a delight to have for company through the lockdown, keeping us amused with friendly conversation and banter. We both travel often and we stay in many places, and some just stand out more than others. It isn't always about the expensive trimmings, it's about the care of the property, cleanliness, and making you feel welcome. Not to mention how affordable these rooms were. The location is only a few minute's drive from Bendigo city center, however, there are plenty of major services in the Kangaroo Flat area that we never needed to go any further. Will definitely be staying here again if we ever come through in the future. - Sarah
