Secluded location, fire pit and supply of timber and starters, delicious slices on arrival.

Well… the “Silvergum” reads like one of the romantic cottages as advertised, however, is far from that. It is a self-contained granny flat underneath a private residence. It was short of what was described and expected - the bed was Queen-sized at best and pushed into a corner of a tiny room without a fan or air-conditioning (we slept in the lounge on the fold out couch, which had to be turned around to use as the bedroom was far too hot); the bathroom had a shoulder width single person shower and toilet, with the basin situated outside the bathroom and no spa bath like advertised. The jacuzzi was not in operation and we were given access upon arrival to facilities in the yard of the private residence upstairs, which was plastered with security cameras. This room offered no privacy, no opportunity for romance and was a complete let down, especially for the price point. We did not get the cozy, romantic cottage as promised. We do not recommend the Silvergum at Hunchy Hideaway.

Breakfast was well equipped. Apartment was tidy. Loved the electric fireplace and appliances.

Outdoor fire pit was set on bessa blocks which was untidy.The garden was unkempt and the fence was down making our outdoor area less than private. The bathroom was so small only one person can fit in it. Disappointed with these aspects.

All the facilities were available although we had meals in Montville at recommended places by our hosts. A bit disappointed with Flaxton Gardens as they could not accomodate us for lunch due to wedding function.

Setting was wonderful spa and fireplace very cosy

It was just an add on to there house, no views except a messy back yard, was told how unique our cottage was which wasn’t a cottage, we were the only people that had access to the outdoor spa and the pool which we didn’t use because there were at least 2-3 video cameras pointed right at the pool and the spa, not to mention the other security camera pointing at us out the back of the add on granny flat that we stayed labeled as a cottage, we had a raw sewerage smell to deal with as well while sitting out the back and also a pump connected to a water tank that would start up all the time and make us jump, also right above the bed outside on both nights there was a possum above that sounded like he was digging for China! So hardly any sleep…$400 a night for that was a joke, we went away that weekend for our tenth wedding anniversary, I feel let down and feel like I have to arrange it and do it all over again to make things right for my wife… I feel like I let her down, $400 a night for that granny flat is a joke! False advertising if you ask me

Secluded. Quite. Very good amenities. Great spa and bath. Nice breakfast. Fantastic fireplace.

Satellite TV didn’t work due to trees. More movie dvd’s would be handy.

It was private and cosy with the fire and spa. Great kitchen facilities and the breaky basket was lovely.

The lack of wifi and phone reception was a little annoying. The possum was a little too friendly as it scratched me on my hand and drew blood. Fire lighters would be nice as we used toilet paper to get the fire going. The toilet paper holder also needs fixing as it fell off the wall.
