The property was very clean and there were biscuits, milk and fresh fruit waiting for us when we arrived. There was a washing machine available to do washing throughout out our stay. We were offered clean linen and towels mid week. Fab stay all in all!!!

The chocolate fingers were brilliant and a little taste of the island ie: star fruit was fantastic! Host met all my needs and was always bubbly when spoken to - she's awesome (meitaki ma'ata Liv 👍)

Distance from town - but that's also a positive - away from the hustle and bustle 👍

clean property, good amount of toiletries, a nice fruit bowl on arrival & some milk, tea & coffee etc was a basic property but exactly what we wanted/needed, good location, good water pressure etc

no issues really, if I was being really critical all I would say is that the lighting wasn’t very bright & one of the wall lights bulbs didn’t work & the outside pool could have been a little better maintained - but these did not affect our stay & we would go back :)

Late checkout - much appreciated. Manager was very pleasant and accommodating. Excellent communication. Quiet and really quite private. Roosters were fine... get used to it, this is Rarotonga. Landscaping really lovely. Appreciated having the pool We needed the fire alarm battery to be replaced and it was done almost straight away. Didn't do the trick...lol...it still kept going off...whole unit needed replacing. The cleaning lady took it down and removed the battery for us...YAY Both my sister and I are/were lapsed readers. No TV but we read heaps of the books in our unit and even went to the 2nd hand shop at the market. That habit has continued now we're back home. Size wise the unit is more than adequate for two people. Bed was comfortable, plenty of drawer and hanging space for clothes and shoes. Shower had excellent water pressure, in fact it felt like your head was getting massaged.

10 day stay - we felt that because it was still quite hot we should have had our linen replaced for fresh at least once! We had to wash our sheets, towels etc (which was ok) but it rained a number of days, not enough dry undercover lines to hang large sheets etc. We asked for a clothes airer, which arrived next day while we were out...was not the best - rusty and dirty (it was Easter and most everything was closed...but!). Also, in the kitchen around the plugs was dirty - needed a good scrub. Please throw the frypan away!!! Generally, I think the unit probably needed to be given a really good proper clean and freshen up (around skirting boards, in corners, bedcover, lounge cover, cushion covers etc...they all had a 'smell of body'. Location for us was not ideal. That is not a complaint, as we were quite aware of where the unit was. We both have replaced knees and hips, walking up and down the hill to the unit was not a great option....younger and much fitter we would have been quite alright. We had rented a car which we used anytime we left the unit.

Amazing facilities, location and view, we were in kakapo apartment and the balcony is massive and picturesque of muri and surrounding areas. 100% recommend to anyone in search of a quiet place in paradise but easily accessible to the more popular areas.

the gardens were beautiful and well kept- it was nice that they divided the pool from the apartment. walking distance to many places in muri but tucked away a bit -nice not to be on the main road

would be good if there was somewhere under cover to hang washing or towels Incase it rains

Management is hard to get hold of. I have emailed several times with my concerns and still haven't heard back. Hopefully this will be the boost they need to check emails and get back to me

Nice location 10 minutes to the beach, amazing view to the jungle and very attentive staff.

Location is a bit away from all the food places in Muri, but it's not far to walk and the place is safe and quiet.

Maintenance could be better. The phone wasn't working, was supposed to be fixed but it never happened. The bathroom door handle had broken off and there was a large rip in one of the curtains.

Muri Retreat is exactly as promised, a great retreat on the south end of the Muri area. Steve and Phoebe are wonderful hosts, freely sharing local information, genuine Cook Island hospitality and fruit that grows on the property. Thanks to both of you! The apartments are exactly as shown and described on Booking.com. We stayed in unit 3, an upper unit that had a nice breeze, covered wrap around balcony and large living space. The best part was waking up from a blissful sleep and watching the sunrise from the very comfy bed. Even though the property is off the beach, you could still hear and see the waves. The big advantage was the small pool, nice after a hot day! There is also a barbecue by the pool which was nice for cooking meals. There is a tv in the area near the pool. We appreciated not having a tv in the room. Internet worked very well throughout our stay. The apartment is about 1/2 km. from the main road, a nice walk for most people. We rented bikes (electric for me which made it easier to get up the hill) which gave us lots of flexibility to explore the island. Thanks again, Steve, Phoebe and JoJo for taking such good care of us. We hope we can come again soon for another visit!

Absolutely nothing.

The apartment is really a retreat set in the beautiful bush and forest. The upstairs unit where we stayed has views of the ocean and very nice balcony. There is a pool at the property. The beach is about 500 m down the road. There is carpark available.

Loved the location as it was back off the road away with lovely views. Still close to the beach and shops to walk for most people. Great pool area, gardens. Good windows and screens for views and keeping out the insects. Was quite and relaxing.

No air-conditioning, just a fan. In our studio we had problems with the shower and had to do certain things to get hot water. No information about your stay at the apartments. Needed just a little bit more host TLC.
