Our third stay in Orr's Island renting from Prince family. Everything was wonderful and allowed us to appreciate our home state of Maine once again.

Lovely, spacious home with plenty of room to relax. This was our second year staying in Bea House and we will return.

It was more than we anticipated. Beautiful view the boats on the water. The homes on the other side of the channel. The home is spacious and very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Trash disposal was a blessing. We'd be very excited to stay here again.

The first floor layout is nicely open with lots of windows for wonderful summer breezes & views along with nice older home with beautiful hardwood floors. A short walk to the Cribstone Bridge and the Salt Cod Cafe was nice. The house could use some updating with the bathrooms and resetting some of the doors that wouldn't stay shut tight as well as new silverware. Although there was not a gas grill immediately available, a text to the owner resulted in a quick response and her and her daughter brought over a smaller size propane grill and because of the well water, they provided cases of bottled water. Most anything you would need is a short 20-minute drive to major grocery stores, restaurants, ice cream shop and more.

This was a very old home with many antique furniture pieces but very well maintained. Clean, comfortable and equipped with anything you could need. A great location with spectacular views. Our host was very friendly and helpful with any information we needed. Would definately stay again or recommend to others.

The location of this cottage overlooking Harpswell sound is wonderful. The schooners coming back in at sunset, so beautiful. And you can't beat the scones and muffins from Salt Cod Cafe, which is basically in the backyard of the cottage. The only improvement for us, both being tall, would be one queen size bed 🙂 .

Everything was wonderful. The views, sunsets, smell of the ocean, reminding us why we will always be Mainers in heart.

Third time we've stayed at the Bea House. It's clean, comfortable and close to everything. Walking distance to the Salt Cod Cafe which has the best scones and to the Cribstone Bridge. My 7 year old granddaughter loves "the red house" and was sad we had to leave.

We LOVED this quiet island retreat for our trip to Maine. The 1913 house gave a rustic, tucked-in vibe. Beds were comfy, adequate storage. 1 full bath +1 toilet room worked for us. Our favorite nightly perch was the back porch overlooking the ocean. Easy meal prep in the full kitchen- a few ants but controlled. While the house sits very close to the road, very little road noise. Probably not appropriate for young kids who might run out into road. Very hilly with no shoulders on road- watch where you walk, not bike friendly. Next door is a lovely bakery and outfitter for kayak rentals. It's 3 miles over the bridge from Orr's Island to the end of the Bailey Island. We explored the Great Steps on Bailey Island and made several trips to nearby Bowdoin College(Gelato Fiasco on Main st) for their Art, Artic museums & ocean center. Boothbay Harbor and Portland are a quick 30 min drive. Many great restaurants in the area. Close to nearby Bath, Harpswell, Freeport. Awesome lobster rolls in Wicasset. Stayed in Bar Harbor overnight for 2 day trip to Acadia National Park so we wouldn't have to trek the 3 hrs back. Outdoor parking next to house for up to 2 cars. Met the lovely owner and learned more history of the area. Bring extra fans to cool bedrooms; not a problem in fall. Would definitely return!!

This spacious and well-kept home was extremely clean, with comfortable furnishings and numerous places to relax and unwind. The enclosed rear porch overlooking rhe water was a favorite spot for both morning cofee and evening cocktails. The owner supplies everything needed for a very pleasant stay and was responsive but unobtrusive.
I highly recommend the Bea House it for an authentic Maine seaside vacation.

As soon as we walked in the door we knew we would love this place. It was a great deal based on location and size of the home. The house has a lot of character with the beautiful hardwood floors throughout, the furniture, bedrooms, and lovely enclosed sunroom. It was VERY clean and the communication with the owner couldn’t be better. If you stay here, you MUST try the scones from the Salt Cod Cafe which is just a short walk away. We hope to be coming back and would definitely stay here again.

A million dollar view!
This is a beautiful property, right on the inlet on Orr's island Maine. The view alone is worth the entire 13 hour drive from Pennsylvania, and the house is charming and very clean and well kept. I spent much of my time there on the large screened-in porch, taking in the kind of view that I imagine it would take several of me to actually afford to own! No matter, for the property is reasonably priced - a bargain considering the location! We'll be back, for sure.

Beautiful Home on Harpswell Sound
The Bea House was just as described. It was charming, beautiful, and had everything we needed to set up house for a week. There was plenty of room for 2 couples, lovely outdoor dining on the enclosed screened porch overlooking the water and boats, beautiful sunsets, comfortable beds. And, right next door was the Salt Cod Cafe, which had the most fabulous, delicious homemade scones, muffins, and clam chowder in Maine! The owner and her daughter are lovely people. I would recommend Bea House if you're looking for a homey place to stay while in Orrs Island/Bailey Island. It was wonderful!

Maine, my happy place!
The Bea House was in a perfect location with beautiful sunset water views. The cribs tone bridge is steps away with opportunities for finding sea glass at low tide. The Salt Cod cafe makes amazing scones and sandwiches. The owner lives next door and always available to answer questions. Great time!

Awesome House!
This house is lovely with a wonderful view and a relaxing screened porch to watch the sunset over the water. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable with plenty of windows and nice views. The kitchen was just right and the living area was nicely set up. Overall a great house, I would love to come back for another visit.

Stunning view of cove
We loved our stay at Orr's Island!
The house was clean and comfortable for our family of 5.
We absolutely love the porch and view of the cove/harbor!
Although it's on the main road it gets quiet after 8pm or so.
We loved being able to walk out the backyard to the Salt Cod; great scones and sandwiches. There are many hikes available; check out Harpswell recreation guide. Next to the Salt Cod is H2Outfitters for kayaks; we intended to go but so many thing to do. Some recommendations.
Wish the house had more fans.
For visitors plan on ordering dinner early from Cook's Lobster and Ale house as the wait on the first night was 1 1/2 hours. Other places to have an evening meal are about 1/2 hour away. Island Candy store has ice cream; a few minutes away.
We wish the house had laundry the nearest laundry is about 1/2 hour away in Brunswick.
All in all though this house and view is absolutely amazing!

Relaxing Stay in Orr's Island
Our stay at Marilyn's property was amazing. The location was perfect for us and we had fun exploring the many trails over Orr's Island, Bailey Island and Harpswell. The Salt Cod cafe was a daily breakfast spot for us. We loved the Giant Stairs trail and even saw a sea otter. The islands were easy to navigate and filled with fun little coves and beaches. We would certainly return again.

The location of the home is great to have access to Orr’s and Bailey Island.
We rented this house last minute and liked the location. It is steps away from the Cribstone Bridge and the Salt Cod Cafe. It has a three season porch where you can see wonderful sunsets. It was worth the price and was what we we’re looking for. The only caution I would say is if you have small children or a dog, the house is very close to the road. This did not bother us at all because we have teenagers.

Fresh sea air and lovely harbor sunsets
We had a lovely time at Marilyn's house on Orr's Island. I loved the old/ antique furniture, which was not, however, such that one worries constantly about spills, etc. It was just a lovely seaside cottage escape. The kitchen was well-equipped.

Spent a wonderful week on Orr's Island at Bea House. Beautiful old home with amazing view of the bay. Close to restaurants, shops and beach access.

Homey older home that is very comfortable and beautifully situated on the edge of Orrs Island.
This was a great experience from start to finish. Our reservation was confirmed very speedily, and Marilyn, the owner, touched base a few times before we arrived. It was very easy to feel right at home, with plenty of space to spread out, a well-supplied kitchen, and a first-class view of the sunsets. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with our grown kids, but it would be a great place for young kids, too. Loved the very easy access to the unique Cribstone Bridge and nearby restaurants on the water, plus a great cruise on a schooner - all less than 3 minutes away. There are tons of must-do/must-see options in the area, too - fabulous seafood, hidden beaches, hikes ranging from very easy to a little more challenging. We really love the whole Orrs & Bailey Islands vibe and will definitely return!

Island Getaway
We had the most relaxing getaway in this home on Orr's Island. We loved the older style with period pieces, and spent most of our down time in one of the the two cozy screened in porches. The location was a perfect central spot for us, as we explored the beach, and visiting local attractions. The house came with all the amenities and space we needed. It was one of our best trips in a long, long time and this welcoming home was a big part of that overall feeling.

What a great location.
This was our first time in this area. What a great place. The views were awesome and the people were so friendly. Marilyn is the best. She has almost everything you would need at the house from paper plates to scotch tape and anything in between. She makes you feel right at home. The only thing missing was a washer/dryer but if you have a dug well that is not always an option. Of course, the Café is a great place to grab a coffee and a muffin. We sat and watch the boats while eating our meals everyday. Plus there is a place where you can go and get your feet wet just a short walking distances away. The little ones in our family loved looking for shells there as well. Like I said before what a great place. We will be going back in the future. Thanks for everything Marilyn.

Quiet location with view of bay and outstanding dining options
The house is roomy, great for larger groups, and nicely furnished with antiques. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils. Very clean, and quite comfortable overall. The sunroom/porch is a lovely place to relax and watch the sailing and fishing boats in the morning over breakfast.
I 295 can get log-jammed with traffic at peak times, but otherwise Portland is about an hour's drive away. Lots of great history (Portland Head Light, the Observatory) and scenery to see there. Likewise a drive north/east up the coast gets you to several gorgeous little towns and tons of history, like Bath (the Maine Maritime Museum is well worth the visit), Camden, Wiscasset, Rockport....
Superb dining within easy walking distance of the house: the 'Salt Cod' cafe is practically in your back yard and has excellent coffee and light fare. Look for the 'antique car' crowd there on sunny days! 'Cook's Lobster and Ale House' is across the water, and about 0.9 mile walk/drive; great food but little atmosphere compared to any other grill restaurant. Do NOT miss the chance to dine at 'Morse's Cribhouse Grill'.... absolutely superb food and service, always busy, but well worth the wait. It was so good we went twice and would go back again!
Overall we really enjoyed our time there and would recommend it.

Island charmer with beautiful views!
My husband and I and our 7 year old son had a wonderful stay in this incredibly spacious cape for a week this summer. We had a great taste of that old Orrs Island charm in a location that can't be beat! If you want to feel like a local and enjoy the food and sights without having to waste time driving, this is the place. For a truly relaxing vacation I would return in a heartbeat❤️ Thank you Marilyn for providing all we needed and making our trip effortless!

Relaxing and Enjoyable
The house was so comfortable. It had plenty of room for our family to sit together and enjoy the view of water and boats. You could sit on the enclosed porch and watched all day the boats: sail boats, ferry, lobster boats, kayaks, canoes, and motor boats going up and down the island. Or there were areas of the house you sit by yourself or visit one on one. You could walk every where to stores, along the beach, and on trails. It was convenient to purchase fresh sea food and prepare it yourself or walk to a restaurant. Our family really enjoyed it.
