We stayed here for 3 nights and we would definitely stay here again. The upstairs bedroom is comfortable and perfect for our needs. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area in need of lodging

Everything was as described. Place was clean and was a good spot for the weekend.

Absolutely loved the region. Very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, multiple breweries/wineries, a beautiful driving range, and a . There is even a drive-in theater about an hour's drive down the Blue Ridge pkwy. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. The unit was clean, well organized, had all the comforts of home, and was spacious enough for my husband and I for the couple of months we were there. The property is also very well manicured (lawn maintenance, outdoor lights, maintained pathways and driveway). We will be back for longer next time!

The Cub Creek Hideaway was a fantastic place for me stay while my own apartment was being restored after a major water disaster. The owner was very welcoming, helpful and kind. The apartment was clean and had everything I needed. The location is peaceful and serene.

A great little place close to Wintergreen. Very clean, no surprises. I arrived around 10 pm, and was surprised at first by how tucked away it is. Arriving at night on my own, I started to worry a bit that I’d picked something too far off the beaten path. I was pleasantly surprised to see the apartment attached to large, beautiful, well-lit home. Although it was late, the owner came out to greet me. After that, I was left to myself, which is exactly what I was looking for. Noteworthy pros: Decent cotton sheets. For those of us who sleep hot, I don’t need to say more. 10 mins to Wintergreen. Want to go skiing on your own or without a lot of hassle? Great place for that. Has what you need to cook. Cons: If you are looking for simple and straightforward, none, really. Maybe bring some extra paper towels. Only one delivery place that I could discern, so either come prepared to cook, or grab food on your way in. Thanks to Alan and Ann for sharing their home.

My friends and I stayed at this VRBO spot for a girls weekend/ski trip. It was in a great location and tucked away on a back road. Very close to wintergreen (15 ish) and 151 breweries and wineries! Devils backbone is very very close! The spot was cute and quaint with everything we needed. Plenty of linens, roku, and easy lock box access for the key. There was even a friendly dog that roamed the property! Great weekend getaway!

The apartment was super clean and conveniently located 10 minutes from Wintergreen resort and several places to eat/drink. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Flawless booking & checking process. It felt very private despite being attached to owners home. The location was perfect, quiet setting, less than 10 min to ski wintergreen but still close to gas, pizza/restaurants/off mountain ski rentals. We'll stocked kitchen& staples, tons of towels & extra linens. Plenty of space on 2 levels with separate entrance. The two of us stayed for long weekend, but our son & his girlfriend came over to hang out & eat after skiing & it was plenty spacious. Would definitely recommend & stay again.

The apartment is attached to the main home but has a separate entrance. It’s a full apartment with an upstairs bedroom. Everything was in order and the WiFi was suitable. The first night we used the fire pit and the next two days we went hiking at local spots. My only issue was the bed. I am a big guy and the soft mattress wasn’t pleasant. My wife is petite and she didn’t mind.

We had a nice stay and the apartment was good for our weekend ski trip to Wintergreen. Everything was very clean and the location was beautiful! My first recommendation would be to add lighting in the guest parking area. Two guests in our party arrived after dark and couldn't see well while walking across the front yard to the other side of the house where the apartment is located. You do provide a light at the apartment, which is nice. Secondly, the futon is extremely uncomfortable as a few other guests mentioned. I too have a futon for my guests and you can purchase a memory foam pad to place on top when the futon is used as a bed. I understand you mentioned this is an extra sleeping area, but since you advertise for four guests, all four guests should be offered a good night's sleep. Some may not need the extra comfort of a mattress pad, but some will. I purchased my memory foam mattress pad on Amazon and it folds up for storage. We certainly appreciated your "christian touches" throughout the apartment, this was very comforting. Thanks for the opportunity to stay in your lovely apartment. Sadona Miller

Clean and comfortable. My only concern, that the internet was not as fast as we would like. Close to wintergreen.

Allen, You have a very nice apartment / cottage there attached to your house. The location is great, and the stream running through the property is very relaxing. Our only issue was with the furniture. The living room sofa / futon is as hard as a rock and the two other chairs are marginal at best. In addition the mattress upstairs is due to be replaced. Although my wife and I were able to sleep, a firmer mattress would have been a godsend. However with that aside, the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware and we did not lack for anything that we needed. We ever appreciated that when guests left things, you didn't clean out everything and allowed future guests to make use of items such as mustard, mayonnaise, coffee filters and other condiments. If do decide to upgrade the furniture, please let us know and we will be happy to come back.

My husband and I get away to the mountains every fall and this cottage was absolutely perfect! The owner was friendly and the amenities were perfect! There was a lovely stream which flowed alongside the property, which was only 21 minutes away from Crabtree Falls, our ultimate destination. There was a nice selection of DVD's and some books to read. The recreation barn has a foosball and ping pong table which we did not use. The wifi was not as strong as we would have liked it to be, and it was difficult finding something to watch on TV, but this is a retreat in the mountains to get away from the hustle and bustle! The television set up is with Roku. We tried to stream off of our Netflix account, but were unable to so we watched DVDs. I would recommend bringing a dongle with you to access Chromecast. I would definitely stay here again!

We loved Alan's home and it served as a perfect respite for our weekend of hiking and breweries. It had everything we needed and I can honestly say I've had some of the best sleep in months here! If we're back in the area we would definitely stay again.

This property was gorgeous! There is a pretty creek that runs through the property with seating to relax and enjoy the woods. The apartment itself was clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. The only problem we had at all was that the bed was not comfortable. We tried the futon as well and that was no better. Besides a poor sleep, we'd return in a heartbeat. Thanks again!

Great place to get away with a lot of privacy.

The owner is very nice and considerate. The rental is immaculate. I am truly a stickler for cleanliness and was so impressed by the cleanliness of the unit. The floors were immaculate, and the towels were so white. The rental is located in the woods and is extremely tranquil. Also, if you enjoy breweries and wineries, there are tons within a short drive. The rental is also close to beautiful hikes. If you’re looking for a quiet family or couples getaway, this is the place!

Nice place with space and cool recreation barn. Unseasonably warm weather contributed to the ladybug infestation in the bedroom, bathroom, and downstairs. Should have been identified and eliminated prior to our arrival Friday night.

Great location for skiing, hiking, and trying out brew pubs. Not many places in the area to eat breakfast, so bring food with which to stock the full kitchen. Private and quiet, with no neighbors, so a great get-away. Washer/dryer very convenient for skiers with wet clothes.

My friends and I stayed here for the weekend to go skiing. We had a great time and definitely would stay here again.
