Everything was wonderful, staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. The room was great, and the location was spot on.

The staff were phenomenal - Angela, Andrea and Sonia. The gardens are so beautifully kept and produce an oasis of peace. The place is located in town, not far from Mateus Castle But you would never know. But the grounds are extensive and a tranquil river runs alongside. The two swimming pools are a delight. We stayed in the main house the first night and then an apartment for two, as we liked to cook. The breakfast was very tasty. We also had Tapas and wine on one of the evenings which was lovely.

It didn't affect our stay but the road noise beside our apartment. But don't let it put you off.

The property is a little rural gem hidden away in this lovely medium sized town. Our host was delightful and enthusiastic. The honesty shop was quaint, well stocked and a lovely old time experience. Wish we could have stayed for a few days to fully enjoy the property and offerings.

Breakfast is a little pricey for us

A utopian getaway. I didn’t expect it to be so lovely. I hardly left the property. the food grown on the property, the bread, the service, the garden and property. perfect. The staff were all wonderful, especially Angela. She treated with such joy and a contagious happiness. Maybe one of my favorite getaways now. At least top three!

Such a gorgeous property nestled in the hills on the outskirts of Vila Real. It’s a little oasis of peace and tranquility off of an otherwise busy road. The 2 bedroom House we stayed in was absolutely perfect, with a wood burning fire already roaring when we arrived. So much attention to detail at this lovely little spot. My children befriended the two hotel cats and were in heaven. I can’t say enough about this idyllic and charming spot. It’s a 5 min drive from Casa Mateus and 25 km or so from the most beautiful spots along the Douro.

Breakfast basket seemed a little pricey for what we received.

Sweet space with lovely people. We had 2 rainy days and loved being able to make a fire and our own dinner. We bought what we need from the honor market. Fresh bread delivery was nice each morning.

This is by far one of the best places to stay around Vila Real. Rooms are large, well equiped, and are part of the old mansion. The team that run the house are incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are first class, with home made bread and home grown produce used where possible. The location is easy to find just off the N2 with plenty of space for parking.

Loved everything! Absolutely adored the eco part of the place; the heart of it in fact. Absolutely beautiful, excellent breakfast, excellent dinner, super comfy beds, amazing pools, gardens, home produce and brilliant facts about how much CO2 each tree consumes per year. A really unique, beautiful and wonderful place; wish there were more like it. Staff were also super and we did not want for anything; thank you!

The accommodation was truely amazing! Great room, awesome location to relax and explore the area, incredible people who work there. We will be back!

the Levada estate is fantastic, from the lovely smell of the trees as you come up the driveway, the beautiful buildings, the friendly welcome, the wonderful pool and bread every morning in honour of an ancient tradition of sharing bread. it’s a quiet oasis in Vila Real. nice walk into town along the river too. the pool area is fantastic.

Bed was so hard it gave us backache so not great nights sleep. the bathroom worked well but was very tired. We were in Quadrada studio which doesn’t have a door out to its terrace as other buildings on the estate do. the tended parts of the estate are lovely but they stopped short of what our terrace looked out on which was mainly dirt and weeds. I’d really recommend coming here but book a different studio.

This was a tiny slice of natural heaven right in the middle of an urban environment. The grounds are so peaceful. It was exactly what we needed to recharge a little. The studio and much of the features were charming and they took full advantage of the old farm facilities. Breakfast was delicious and set in a lovely courtyard.

I loved almost everything about this place. However, I wouldn't want to come in a heatwave. As an ecological environment, they have fans but no air-conditioning. We cooled our room primarily through leaving the door open. If it is not cool outside, a person would feel pretty hot inside as well.

I loved everything about this place, it was a magical find. We can't wait to visit again. Angela is an amazing person, always helping and smiling. The peace and tranquility at Casa da Levada is incredible.

What a beautiful location! One of the best stays we've had in years. This residence is a dream... That garden, that hospitality... Simply wonderful. The location is romantic, the beds are soft, the bathroom has a perfect shower, the breakfast is delicious, the employees are incredibly friendly and think along with everything... The garden is truly gorgeous and spacious, and you can choose from two swimming pools. And the 'trust shop' sells nice foods like local cheeses, tomatoes, bread, wine... There are fruit trees everywhere. Simply great! We only stayed 2 nights but it felt like we've been unwinding for weeks. Tip: We highly recommend having dinner in this place as well! These people know how to cook and the outside patio is truly romantic... Had a delicious fish stew, but they can cook other things as well. There's also loads to do in the area. From wine tasting in the Douro Valley to hiking in the Alvao National Park. You will not regret visiting this place. Would highly recommend it.

It would be great if the smaller swimming pool had a few umbrella's for shade against the sun. But other than that, everything was perfect. :-)
