Rooms really clean and bright white fresh bed linen. Lots of hot water 🤩 Staff were so helpful with queries and really upbeat and courteous.

Just a little dated.

The location.

When I arrived, I was informed that there was a problem with Cooked Breakfast, that only continental breakfast was available. It consisted of a kettle and a slice pan still in its packaging. Butter and marmalade and a packet of cornflakes. I had a coffee and a slice of toast, but when I checked out, I went elsewhere for my breakfast.

no chi chi. Basic and old fashioned. I didn’t mind. Room was clean. it was quiet and it was the right location after a long drive that day. Breakfast was freshly made.

I couldn’t get a place in the bar so I got a table in the hallway. It was windy and cold. Otherwise no complaints.

Friendly and comfortable for a quick stay

very friendly staff, food in the bar was good value for money and the breakfast menu had several choices. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. we would definitely stay again as it provided what we needed to break our journey for the night.

it was cold in the area where we had breakfast but I wouldn’t expect them to heat a large area just for three of us.

The problem with these reviews is that people often use them to air a grievance because they wish they were staying in a 5 star but can't afford it. This hotel was perfect for my needs during my 1 night stay and this review reflects my reservation in a 3 star hotel at the price I paid. I'm not going to mark it down for having no swimming pool or silver service waiter as I knew there wasn't one here before I arrived. With the Abbey, you know exactly what you are getting when you book..., a convenient, exceptionally clean, hot shower, very friendly, warm, great value for money, comfortable room with the added bonus of a Smart TV and in-room tea/ coffee facilities. Enjoyed a couple of late drinks at the hotel bar and some friendly chat with the bar staff. It's only 20/25 mins from Killarney so it was perfect for us to escape the crowds at the bar after a show at the INEC. Give me this honest family run establishment any day of the week. Well done and thank you Abbey Hotel. Will see you again.

Comfortable room. Checking in and out was very straightforward

no option for breakfast in the morning but I think that is seasonal.
