If I could, I would give this Gasthof 11/10. Everything was just as I would have wished, lovely clean room, a good night's sleep as quiet outside. When I arrived the restaurant was full of locals eating, needless to say, I joined them for two hearty meals. Would stay again if in the area.

The hotel located in historical building with its own atmosfere and restaurant with a good traditional cousine. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Just take note that the building doesn't have an elevator because os its construction. So if you traveling with children or people older, it is recomended to book first flo.

Everything was great. Friendly hosts, solid breakfast, good location, pleasant atmosphere. A family business that they run very well. ❤️❤️❤️

Cozy simple hotel, location is very good for the lake promenade. The staff is helpful and friendly, they even helped us to park our car when we found it almost impossible on a very cramped and narrow parking in the hotel's inner yard.

Parking is very narrow and overcrowded, can be tricky to park your car there.

Location is within walking Distance to the lake.

staff not very attentive on arrival, no organisation for parking, did not get told or shown where our room was we had to find it, No lift, our room was in the roof, sloping ceiling, no head room in head, the worst pillows we have ever had anywhere. no air con, should have fans in the room, should have tea and coffee facilities in the room at this price. breakfast was disappointing, no hot food at all, not even toast,

We were on third floor, no lift, no air con, room too hot, no fans available. We booked dinner, walked into town 15 minute walk, felt hungry, I phoned to cancel our reservation, which they said was fine. We ate out. Walked back went into their lovely garden area, ordered a drink, staff asked what room no we said 30, then with real attitude (not lack of translation), she said oh yes you cancelled dinner!!!! I felt obliged to say I felt wan after the heat and walk to town and needed to eat!!! I thought the staff was rude and making a point!!!!! Top floor is not the room I booked. Sometimes I think places put Booking.com reservations in the worst rooms, so be aware.

The location was ok - a little away from the centre - and a couple of blocks from the lakefront. Communications prior to the stay was good

The room was hot and stuffy Pillows weren't comfortable. After driving 10 hours, we arrived on the day the hotel restaurant was closed so it was very disappointing to not have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. If there had been communal hot /cold refreshments that would have been helpful but to have nothing in the room was disappointing..

The staff were so helpful. Breakfast was convivial and we weren't rushed, although technically it was over. Thank goodness they had parking across the street, which was very convenient.

The hotel is well situated for Friedrichshafen city centre, especially for the castle and the beach. The hosts are friendly and it's great to have the option to hire the bikes - meaning that you can set off right away from the hotel. There are two buildings, one of which has a restaurant attached with a filling breakfast buffet in the morning.

Unfortunately, the great location means that the road was quite noisy, especially on a Friday night at the kebab shop across the street. This was probably worse because we were on the ground floor, but at least the blinds can be let down to block some of the noise. PS: if you're not used to German pillows, it might be worth bringing your own or asking at reception for an extra one and putting it in the same pillow case.

Clean and tidy room with a very nice firm mattress. Good breakfast. A few minutes walk from the lake. Good place for a short stay.

When we arrived, the receptionist did not explain well where the second hotel parking was. Only after making a mistake 2 times and parking in the wrong place did he give us a paper clearly showing on a map where to park. This created a lot of unnecessary effort and confusion. Also, during breakfast, we were not asked about our eating preferences (we are vegetarian) and a plate full of salami was brought to our table. Asking guests about their eating preferences would also prevent food wasting, as already served, but not eaten food would be thrown away.
